  1. Still waiting for Mike Davis to do something. Ohio State WILL be a final four team if they stay out of foul trouble. Man they are good, but their obvious achilles heel is the depth and front-court size. But they have shooters, athletes and everyone can handle the ball minus Lauderdale.
  2. I read that in the magazine. Tigers could have a better 1-3 (still don't think so) but there is no way a team has a better 1-5 than the Sox.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) My major weakness as well. I have been trying to eat turkey slices or some other protein which fills you up pretty good. Ill even save a protein shake for late night. Drink TONS of water as well. I still have bad nights, but not as frequent. I do drink lots of water, but not so much after dinner, so maybe I'll start doing that more frequently. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) Chew gum. The act of chewing has some psychological effect on hunger, plus it tastes good. Also, drinking plenty of water with help curb hunger; at least a gallon per day. Also chew gum, but at least for me, it has no affect.

My worst thing is that I eat well throughout the day, morning to dinner, but after dinner I binge eat. Grab some dark chocolate M&Ms, some ice cream and the likes. I wish I could just cut out my foods after dinner, but I can't. Any tips for curbing hunger or how to not eat after dinner. I eat around 7 p.m. and go to sleep around 11.

What's the diet like on these things? I am 5'9", 145 lbs., but I tend to eat a lot (and junk), probably too much. The workouts I do currently I think are fine, but it's the eating I have a problem. Any tips to keeping to a diet? I am talking about getting "shredded" in the abs, lol?
  6. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) Damon has done wrestling promos and appearances with AJP, right? Not that this matters but just wondering how well he knows guys on this team. I believe they were high school teammates.
  7. Any of you Ohio State fans remember the name Walter Dublin? He could get drafted late, has a cool story. Left OSU to help his sick mom, played in the AFL (youngest to play there) and CFL b/c he was too young for the NFL. Now eligible for the NFL draft, runs a 4.6 40-yard dash at 6'3", 275 lbs as a DE.
  8. My worry is that Boras will be in the ear of Damon too much and sway him to the Tigers because of the money. If the Sox really are $3 million short here, you gotta bump the number up. I think $3 million is worth keeping him away from Detroit and he is a popular player who will bring people to the park. Also, we really need to answer the Twins who have made some pretty smart moves the past month.
  9. Apparently Damon's wife wants a bigger, more metropolitan city (according to Rosenthal). Has to bode well for us. Damon has put up .800+ OPS seasons most of the last seven years. I would offer him a one-year deal for $7 million with an option for 2011 based on reaching certain statistical benchmarks. Like 500 PAs or something else. That way, it means he was healthy this year. Also would be nice to make it performance related too, so that he has to at least perform well to get the second-year option.

So for all you runners, who's got races coming up? I have two half-marathons in Chicago, the first one being in June. I am excited, trying to go sub-90 minutes. I have been at 92 minutes in pretty hilly courses in Madison and Columbia, Mo., so I feel like the flatness of Chicago should definitely take two minutes off my half-marathon time. What's everyone else got? 5Ks, 10Ks, halfs or fulls?
  12. Tehan is gonna have a big year. He loves hitting in our park, so his home splits alone should allow for him to breakout.
  13. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) Unf***in real where he ranks in the Big 10 in PTS/REB/AST. Dude is incredible. Any NBA team that lands him will be incredibly lucky. Turner to me is like Scottie Pippen. Just a stat sheet stuffer. And can play almost any position on the floor.
  14. QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 03:00 AM) You guys are seriously going to get upset over Illinois fans rushing the court after a win over the 5th team in the nation? I don't care if the entire MSU starting lineup was out, its still a win over the 5th team in the nation, and they were still underdogs before the game. Yeah, I can't really denounce people who stormed the court yesterday since I did when Mizzou beat #16 Kansas last year. One thing I hated was Dick Vitale's preaching at the end of the game how bad rushing the court is. Dick it isn't your job to play fire marshal, so let the kids have fun and let us just soak in the image. I don't need to hear you stupid ass voice.
  15. I am sure this has made the rounds to the White Sox front office, and I gotta imagine they are livid. Not the fact that he is drunk but the fact that he is drunk at Soxfest where he is supposed to be representing the Sox in a positive image.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Mizzou got some damn nice oline recruits, for years our olineman didn't have the size to take on the big boys of the south and our scheme was just kind of let them run past and push them out of the way. Maybe soon we can take it to 'em. The day we beat oklahoma or texas will be one of the happiest of my life. in sports. James Franklin is gonna be a beast for Mizzou after Blaine leaves. I am still curious why Tyler Gabbert was so highly rated. Has bad numbers and really doesn't impress with his measureables. But I suppose at worst, he is a decent back-up. If Mizzou locks down Missouri like it is starting to do, it will be a top-25 team every year. Now start to steal some recruits out of Texas (not steal from Texas, the top ones UT doesn't accept) and Mizzou could be even better. One thing that the Mizzou staff does as well as anyone if identify small-school sleeper prospects.
  17. QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) For a 21 year old guy who really want to finish his bachelor's degree and get a job to see what he "likes to do," I wouldn't mind getting married when I'm 25. But I'm not just going to settle for the first girl that comes my why who isn't utterly insane. Who the hell knows where I'll be in 5 years. All I know is that I don't think people get married straight out college. Too many people trying to figure s*** out before taking responsibility for the real world. Two best friends from college. Married at 20, afters sophomore year. The other at 22, after college.
  18. No matter what people say about Bulls management, Taj Gibson was an amazing selection. James Johnson, maybe not. But Taj has been awesome. I think next year he would be the perfect first big off the bench when Bosh (pray) or Noah is tired.
  19. He has a little Frank Thomas in him in that swing. Notice how he picks up his left foot as he swings just like Frank did from the right side with right foot.
  20. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 08:33 AM) Just got Chicken fajitas for tonights bulls game, can't wait, haven't had these in a good 8+ months :D. Ran 3 miles 2 days ago, ran 3 again yesterday, will probably run 3 today. I cant help it - I love running. I went from 148 on the scale a few days ago to my lowest was 141.5 then I got it back up to 144. Now its probably 145. lol On your running, are you training for anything? Because if you are, I would add some speed work or endurance runs to your training regimen. Even if you aren't, it helps you get into much better cardiovascular shape.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) I haven't decided which pitcher I'd like to start for our league record of 1 and 2 run losses. But we have Juan Pierre to steal first, second and third.
  22. No doubt about it, he has a pretty swing, very little wasted movement. As long as he can handle all the pressure mentally, he will be at least a very solid ball player. But tons of guys haven't been able to handle the mental rigors of baseball.
  23. I would take Peavy because I want him going against other team's No. 1s. As much as I love Mark, Peavy is better and he should pitch against the other team's Ace. However, if they went Mark on opening day then switched to give Peavy the starts against the top pitcher of other teams, I wouldnt mind that.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) I like this line: The pitching staff is essentially the same, except they'll have Jake Peavy from the get-go. That was funny to me as well. So it is different Neyer because they get a CY Young quality pitcher for 35 starts instead of 3. Hmm. That may seem to make a big difference in a team's win total.
