For the lawyers...
So I will likely be attending Illinois for law school next fall (baring an unforeseen acceptance to Duke), so I was just curious where you all went to school and what kind of law you guys practice? Thanks.

Sox agree to 3yr/$14M Deal w/ Teahen
Good move. He provides something we have not had in awhile: a good player with versatility (Sorry Nix/Lillibridge lovers). He can play 3b, 2b, 1b and the corner OF, so this provides good insurance in case of injuries. I can't imagine it's more than $13 million combined, but I guess we'll see (he made $3.575 last year.)

What's out there for LH relief?
I really think we can keep it in-house this year. Randy Williams was great last year except two outings. Against lefties, he allowed them only to hit .162 with two extra-base hits. Since he only costs about $500K, I see no reason to go out and spend on a lefty reliever. Sure, bring in a bargain player or two, but I think he will ultimately be the best option. However, I suppose this could change a bit if Jenks is traded and Thornton becomes the closer because Williams is probably simply a second lefty. But if Jenks stays, I think Williams will be a great LOOGY for this team. But here are your options according to MLBTradeRumors.com (I'd say slim pickings): Joe Beimel (32) - Type B, not offered arb Bruce Chen (33) Alan Embree (40) Scott Eyre (38) - Type B, not offered arb Casey Fossum (32) Eddie Guardado (39) Mark Hendrickson (36) Ron Mahay (39) Will Ohman (31) - Type B, not offered arb Darren Oliver (39) - Type A, not offered arb Horacio Ramirez (30) Glendon Rusch (35) Scott Schoeneweis (36) Brian Shouse (41) - Type B, offered arb Ken Takahashi (41) Jack Taschner (32) Ron Villone (40) Jamie Walker (38)

If you're an NFL GM, what round would you pick Lebron?
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) He's had leg injuries and a lot of wear and tear since high school. I doubt that he'd break 4.7. Have you seen him on the basketball floor? He would run a 4.5 at worst. He is freak of nature.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) $9 million plus, spent on Bolland, Versteeg and Byfuglien, seems crazy to me. Yeah something is going to have to give. I really hope somehow they can rid themselves of the Campbell contract and the Huet deal. Just one would be great, but both would be awesome. I have a bad feeling that neither will be traded.

Just started to watch Dexter the past couple of days. Wow. Pretty sweet yet disturbing show. But I am glued. If I didn't have two tests the next two days, it would be a Dexter marathon.

AGon discussion, et. al.
I wrote Cowley an e-mail talking about how I am a journalism major at Missouri and basically blasting his morals and ethics as a journalists. I told him that he is exactly the opposite of what we are taught journalists should be like. His response: "Go to law school kid. Do yourself a favor. And tell them Uncle Joe sent you. You'll thank me later."

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) Agreed 100% Now that it's over, I can honestly say it was one of the top-3 HIMYM episodes for me. Loved all of Barney's "plays." And the blonde was smoking.

Pretty epic HIMYM so far. I think this could be one of my favorites of all-time simply for the fact that it's a Barney-centric episode.

To Bmags: Also, you can try ADTHE.net. Usually games there too. Although pretty sure both seem to use the same place to get the games on justin.tv.

Morel > Viciedo on the big board?
I really think he means Morel is going to actually be a third baseman whereas Viciedo profiles as a DH/1b type. I don't think this should be read as Morel has surpassed Viciedo as a prospect. But really, we all know Viciedo would never make the Sox as a third baseman, so this really shouldn't be that surprising.

Sox acquire Mark Teahen, $$$ for Getz/Fields
Sox won't confirm the rumor = Legit. Sox deny the rumor = False. There is something here.
