  1. it probably got lost with the ones saying he was the best
  2. Maybe it is us to take our learnings. This was a 100 loss team and many predicted a 100 season this year. We've gotten greedy thinking division or wild card (even more possible). It would be a disappoint missing that possibility but their time is not now.
  3. I think they are done with that.
  4. no to all of the above for this year team is not ready.
  5. it's a game of streaks. You can catch a team when they are playing bad. Somewhere the Sox turn has to come up when they will be bad. It will be like watching the Brewers series again. It's different losing a series to the Yankees than it is to the Royals. People go into trade frenzy but but never really think of for what and thinking there are some naive GMs out there. Not everyone can be as gifted as the Brewers and trade starting pitching. The hardest part about baseball is having good young player on the farm that are good enough to be playing for bad teams. So why not give them up. Then when injuries happen that player is no longer there. When Mune went down there was potential to be a lot worse. Lucky for them they had some guys worthy of being brought up. The most strategic part of running a baseball team these days is dealing with injuries. Not many are gifted when pitchers go down.
  6. I will try to treat the kneejerk reactions (even the positive ones) as sarcasm. Even the national media treats this team as the biggest surprise in MLB.
  7. but 1st base is suppose to be easy some say If they want guys to play other positions maybe it should be done in A or AA
  8. This is a game where one pitcher is really on and the other is really off. How many times did Cole have an 0-2 count?
  9. I like watching the opposing broadcast. They say a lot of good thinks about the Sox without hype.
  10. when I was 13 I bought a beer (twice) at old Comiskey. The 2nd time I was caught by my parents.
  11. Impressive they are base hitting teams to a pulp
  12. give up 2 outs doesn't help in recruiting membership to Acuna fan club either
  13. it's old habit that I still don't trust a Sox pen with a 2 run lead
  14. got to see him in the Fall League too
  15. strange to experience nice things - almost speechless
  16. at the same the teams that don't do much roster juggling seem to win
  17. trade............trade what? Every MLB team needs pitching except a few. What an organization is willing to give up is another story. We see this as a small window of opportunity for a postseason due to a really bad AL. I think this month is a reality check facing teams that are more often in the post season. They are not there yet.
  18. Nothing like taking another thread of the rails. As usual one has to bring their political urine into it. We could ruin a knitting forum.
  19. I doubt it is different than any other team. Outside of pitchers I think the Sox are in a much better position of minor league depth than in the past. Even though the Sox OF is not a strength they are much better than the days of Vaughn and Sheets playing the OF.
  20. I don't think it was whining. We are not use to this, The past 2 years we would turn the game off after the 7th with only a run behind.
  21. Mune out Acuna in. It's like a punch to the nuts.
