  1. So far I haven't heard the knee jerk reaction that all of these trades ruined the team chemistry
  2. If by chance the Dodgers face the Sox in the WS you will rethink that
  3. Bring in a catcher midseason who has to learn to handle pitchers - not a fan of it
  4. they were also playing a wounded Yankees team the Sox are really slumping at the plate and yet they seem to escape a serious losing streak nice to see Seranthony not blowing it
  5. No long term evidence of that yet.
  6. I just find it annoying to be on baseball forum and see stuff that is like surfing youtube and facebook that isn't baseball related. Maybe I should go to some of the forums I belong to and hope a baseball discussion breaks out.
  7. another development year for this team and they ended up in 1st place we forget the developmet part
  8. pen just has trouble getting 3 straight outs
  9. these kids aren't use to playing with pressure - growing pains
  10. outs by contact - best way to pitch
  11. Yep. the Sox need to stop playing hard for 9 innings.
  12. throwing strikes is not one of them
  13. I missed the 10 run 3rd. Love listening to opposing broadcasts. Very informative.
  14. This is why I hate off days. It fuels the mental illness of trade frenzy and we assume every GM is naive.
  15. Everyone likes to believe baseball is such a predictable sport. There's this thing called injuries and you still need good backups.
  16. getting a win and not playing good baseball - not use to that
  17. it probably got lost with the ones saying he was the best
  18. Maybe it is us to take our learnings. This was a 100 loss team and many predicted a 100 season this year. We've gotten greedy thinking division or wild card (even more possible). It would be a disappoint missing that possibility but their time is not now.
  19. I think they are done with that.
  20. no to all of the above for this year team is not ready.
  21. it's a game of streaks. You can catch a team when they are playing bad. Somewhere the Sox turn has to come up when they will be bad. It will be like watching the Brewers series again. It's different losing a series to the Yankees than it is to the Royals. People go into trade frenzy but but never really think of for what and thinking there are some naive GMs out there. Not everyone can be as gifted as the Brewers and trade starting pitching. The hardest part about baseball is having good young player on the farm that are good enough to be playing for bad teams. So why not give them up. Then when injuries happen that player is no longer there. When Mune went down there was potential to be a lot worse. Lucky for them they had some guys worthy of being brought up. The most strategic part of running a baseball team these days is dealing with injuries. Not many are gifted when pitchers go down.
  22. I will try to treat the kneejerk reactions (even the positive ones) as sarcasm. Even the national media treats this team as the biggest surprise in MLB.
  23. but 1st base is suppose to be easy some say If they want guys to play other positions maybe it should be done in A or AA
