  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) Is her father representing her? Apparently he is an attorney. I hadn't heard that, I would be surprised if he did, this will get ugly and would be very difficult for him to separate his role as her father and his duty as an attorney.
  2. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) Is it odd that the accuser hired a lawyer already? Not at all. This is going to be a very public case and with the internet, unfortunately someone will probably out her, it would be odd if she didn't. Also, she'll probably file a civil case so she'll obviously need representation for that.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) Never saw that, very interesting. UFC is going to pull a Kenny Williams and get their guy way too late. I would imagine he's just using Bellator as a negotiation tactic. I wonder if Dana/Silva throw him right in with a good fight or give him a can or two to build up his image again. Yeah, it will be interesting to see how this shakes out. Link below is an article discussing his coming return. Fedor's people are saying the right things, ie Reebok deal won't effect him going to UFC, they don't have to co-promote UFC events (meaning M-1, this was reportedly why he was never in UFC prior)..... http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2015/8/5/910032...werdum-mma-news
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) McGregors biggest fault is his biggest strength. He is not afraid to take a hit and get close. The problem is, those hits add up, and eventually a KO finds its way in there. The style also leaves him open to take-downs. In the Mendes fight he actually did OK when Mendes was going for take downs from a distance, but when he's in close he has no base to defend takedowns. Worth mentioning, Fedor is going to fight again, looks like he's negotiating with Bellator and UFC.
  5. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 05:00 PM) I just received an ESPN update on my phone that says white sox front office "confused" whether to buy or sell at deadline. Wow I think "confused" is an interesting choice of words, but I have no doubt the front office has opportunities to add short term for some long-term prices and since this is the same team that played like dogs for a large part of the season, they should be having high level/in-depth conversations about what's best for the team.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) Here is a detailed forecast for fantasy purposes, which makes it seem like the game probably gets in after a long delay, but no guarantees. https://rotogrinders.com/threads/thursday-w...ortheast-764676 If this gets called, Danks better have his spot skipped in the rotation and other 4 go on normal rest. However with the Sox now in Wild Card contention I'm sure they'll do all they can to get this in as they don't want to try and jam an extra game in if Sox stay in the hunt.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 01:38 PM) The Cubs are aggressively shopping Starlin Castro. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/castrst01.shtml Woof, they better be aggressive, I can't see teams beating down the doors for him.
  8. I think some has to do with lately this regime has had less rumors floating around, but I also think that the notion that the Sox went from Sellers, or at least Stay-Putters, to Buyers in about a week has something to do with it. A lot of rumors of conversations, etc., are floated by front offices to put other teams on alert, etc... basically tactics. Sox are so late to those party and probably internally and externally weren't going to be buyers, so no time for kicking tires etc., if they buy, they're diving in pretty quickly.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) Jushin Thunder Liger will be at the next nxt takeover Meltzer is saying more to come regarding nxt. Points out that njpw have Nakamura, okada and kushida booked with roh for same night in same town http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-sto...how-against-roh
  10. UFC Fight Night last night was unreal as far as action goes, go out of your way to catch a re-play.
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) That will be helpful, if they can read Greek it may be even better. We rented a car and had a hell of a time navigating the road signs. Once we got to the island nothing was in English. We drove past the apartment we rented several times before we figured it out. Man, I am jealous, I would love to get back there. Yes, fortunately my friend's wife does!
  12. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) I was in Greece a couple of years ago. We went to Kefalonia which is a much less visited island west of the mainland. We had a great time time. The only thing that I regret doing was the tour of Delphi. The bus ride from Athens was long and we didn't feel like it was worth it. The food is awesome. We saw a man perform Plato's Apology in a courtyard of college building with the Parthenon on the hill in the background. Very cool. I gotta go look through my pictures now. Sounds awesome! Yeah, I'm fortunate to be going with two first generation Greek Americans and one second, but all three speak it which will make it easier on me. Don't believe they mentioned Delphi specifically but they definitely said, and we plan, to really see the ruins that are accessible easily around Athens. EDIT: my last part was a mess, meaning they agree with your summary, the ones around Athens are good enough and traveling long distances isn't necessarily worth it.
  13. 6/7-6/20 Athens then Santorini followed by some impromptu travels.... so excited!
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) Enjoy the trip! Thanks! right now 50/50 mix of looking forward to it for the adventure and for not working for 2 weeks!
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:14 AM) ONLY thing I like about the process is when they say "welcome home." I feel your pain, though. Awful process. going to Eurpoe for two weeks on Sunday, thanks for the heads-up!
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 27, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) This blows a hole in DA excuse people do not want to advertise on Wrestling shows! The Wrestling Observer reports that, distressingly for talent, TNA’s future on Destination America was not addressed during the conference call today. During the conference call there was nothing really said except that they could not currently address the company’s future on the cable network. I thought it was odd too, but FWIW, Meltzer is saying Impact is far more expensive for DA than ROH and they still want wrestling, so ROH is a cheaper alternative if all holds true and TNA is done on DA shortly. This also makes the Samoa Joe situation murky as ROH was going to be able to use him for TV when they were just the limited Sinclair stations now it will be interesting to see what he does.
  17. Good thoughts on what Simmons has brought to the table, but Tom Ley from Deadspin wraps up where I think it shook out (Skipper is ESPN head and he and Simmons have not gotten along lately). Full disclosure I'm not a Simmons fan at all, liked his early stuff though. The thing is, Skipper may not even be wrong to believe that Simmons’s value to the company is at this point minimal, or at least vastly outweighed by what he costs. (Everything we’ve heard about Grantland’s traffic numbers would back this up.) He gave them 30 for 30 and Grantland, but ESPN certainly has the money and infrastructure to keep those things going without Simmons, who at this point doesn’t do much but write the occasional mailbag column, record podcasts, and host a basketball TV show that nobody watches. It’s almost cruel for ESPN to so suddenly jettison a longtime superstar who brought so much to the company (even as they made his career), but it’s also a satisfyingly ironic way for the Boston Sports Guy to go down. After all, it’s the same type of cold-blooded move his beloved Patriots would have made. http://deadspin.com/why-espn-fired-bill-simmons-1703103609
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 7, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) Is Mr. Blotto a big deal? The main singer threw me his guitar pick when I was like 10 years old. Not that I know of, local Chicago band for years and years, I happened to see them a time or two about 10 years ago and the drummer would break into a Harry Caray impression that was spot on and sounded so much like the guy on Kevin Mathews.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ May 6, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) He's always done it that way. The problem is everyone who does Harry Caray now is just doing Will Ferrell's impression. This is the best impression ever. Perfect. Yeah, that guy would appear on Kevin Mathews a lot and was incredible. Was he the drummer for Mr. Blotto?
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Chip Kelly is running his real life NFL football team as if its a video game. That is not going to turn out well for him. He's in a great position to do what he wants in the NFL to see if it works. If he flames badly major colleges will be lining up to bring him in.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 10:48 PM) Verne Gagne 89 one of the top wrestlers/promoters in wrestling history. Yeah, so many of the wrestlers and announcers from WWF's 80's peak started out with Verne in AWA, they use to have huge shows at Comiskey back in the day.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) Because no one in the NFL smokes pot at all I assume teams look at it as a decision making issue rather than a weed issue. Politics aside, pot is illegal in most places and the NFL tests for it. So this is the opportunity of a lifetime for players to make millions, and they know they're going to be watched like a hawk and at certain point, tested. It can raise flags that maybe the prospect isn't ready to make decisions and can impact their availability once they're on a team.
  23. http://time.com/3766780/robert-zdar-dies-maniac-cop/ Maniac Cop actor and Chicago native Robert Z'dar. Use to hang out at a bar in Lombard on Roosevelt, very nice guy.
  24. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-sto...-hour-specials- Couldn't find the post in a quick scan, someone was concerned about NXT specials going monthly, WWE backing off that, still quarterly.
