http://deadspin.com/chicago-sports-radio-g...s-re-1693807995 Deadspin in on it now. In the past I definitely think there's been reaches to make stories out of something, I don't think that's the case with Bernstein's comments. Spiegel's I have zero issue with, if he thinks she's not good at her job, he's in the right to say it.

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Mar 19, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Well, at least we'll have a better variety of Thanksgiving football available to us that year. Wow, with the EPL holiday schedule (I assume other major Euro Leagues have a similar crunch) the hiatus the major euro league will have to take and make up for and the WC, the elite players are going to play crazy amounts of soccer over a short time. It will be interested to see how Euro legaues handle it. How long do they break? Just for early pool play then if your superstar is in a team that advances you're S.O.L? -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-...e-seats-on-raw/ WWE are we in Russia/North Korea geez? F4wonline had some follow-up, it seems like there's stories now that in the past this same group has played up to the crowd and caused distractions to in ring action. This time they didn't have a chance to as they cracked down when they came in, but it is common for WWE to shut down similar distractions (there use to be a Hogan guy in Chicago shows, I think his name was Pepper or something, Bubba Ray had some fun with him at an ECW Odeum show). -
The Great "Team Chemistry" debate, we know what Hawk believe

yeah, poster who summed it up saying it's likely a factor but one that's impossible to predict. The great As teams use to have fist fights in the clubhouse. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 09:42 AM) Supposedly they didn't even check into using USCF. Their "research" told them Cub fans wanted nothing to do with USCF. I think in the past, JR has pretty much made it clear the Cubs weren't welcome anyway. From what I have read, the terms of his lease would give him the ultimate authority in letting the Cubs play there. Well, this is a bit of tin foil hat, but I could understand why Cubs wouldn't want games in the Cell. My thought is the Cell is very underrated and a good fan experience with space, nice bathrooms, plenty of concessions, parking, etc... I don't believe the expansion is going to address many of the non-desirable issues with Wrigley, really adding seats and revenue generating signs, etc. Cubs have a lot of casual fans, why risk exposing them to what can be a very nice experience 10 miles south, you can justify it in Milwaukee because it's a haul.

Joe's role in WWE will likely be based on what VMK thinks of him or how much stroke HHH now has. Supposedly he didn't like him before hence he was never in WWE. Sounds like HHH is getting him in this time. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Soler is listed at 215lbs, and apparently he reported to camp at 245lb. ummmm, thats a lot of weight gain over an offseason what type of weight did he add? Was it younger dude who was never exposed to junk food and went bonkers in the off-season or we talking mid 90's 30lb off-season weight gain?

QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 28, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) Much more worried that this will affect his arm prep leading up to the season If it's 2-3 weeks I would guess Sox and sale will just put him on normal schedule. Early part of April has days off usually. I don't see any need to rush him

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 24, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) Im guessing they're negotiating a new deal past mania and Brock didn't like it. Or it's a work, who knows. Brock has interest from UFC, Bellator (they're owned by Viacom now) and of course WWE. I'm guessing this is all around negotiations. At his age this will likely be his last big pay day, I imagine he can always have a few more years in WWE, but realistically either actually signing for MMA or using them as a viable negotiation leverage, this go around is just about it. Rumors have been all over the place, a bit back he was all but going back to UFC, but recent 2-3 weeks he was going back to WWE. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 18, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Nxt "Spoiler" alert..... Uhhh Rhyno, really? Not sure what to think about that. It makes sense to me, I imagine they'll filter veteran guys in and out. It's a good learning tool for the NXT guys to work with people they don't train with on a day-to-day basis and established WWE stars. I also saw Spanky had a match on there and may be a trainer. -

Idea makes sense, but it would take a lot of negotiating. Owners are not going to want to add 5 spots that will likely be at some sort of veteran minimum, because you're not going to want to just fill it with rookies, you want those players to be in MiLB getting daily reps. Also, would it be whatever they wanted or limited to field players or BP or some sort of slots? Games would take longer, something they're trying to get away from, if you can use it for added BP since there'd be more changes.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) Reports are Hey man might turn on Brock to align with Reigns...That makes a ton of sense to me. Reigns, while he has gotten better on the mic, still isn't that good on it. Brock is probably gonezo after Mania, and Heyman is awesome and needs to stay on TV so putting him with Reigns would be awesome. From there they could perhaps either continue to get Rock involved (by advising him to stay away from Paul) setting up Reigns vs Rock. Or perhaps Heyman goes after the authority looking for more power (which I have had a feeling might happen at some point) setting up Reigns vs Rollins. ......or it could flake out like Heyman with Ryback (wasn't THAT bad), Axel, or Cesaro. Done right I could really get behind this. Kinda hate that my bro told me the rumor because it kinda spoils all the fun....and with that, because I'm an asshole like my bro, I hope I have ruined it for you. What sites are reporting this? Wade Keller floated it as an idea on Stone Cold's podcast, but it was him brainstorming and making the conclusion you did about one of Reigns weak points being the mic. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Which would be pretty dumb in my opinion but I guess I'm alone in thinking that. Too me its like Shawn Michaels is popular so let's not try and develop the rock or something along those lines. We saw with the rash of injuries just a few months ago that they really need to start building more stars than just your top few guys. Right, but you can't force a square peg in a round hole. As much as people get on WWE (and UFC) for not "developing the next superstars" I cut them a little slack as that person they're pushing has to have "it", and so much of that is determined by the fans. Fans aren't going to automatically like Roman Reigns and make him the next Cena because VKM and crew demand it and push him as it. There has to be a balance, WWE needs to groom guys for what they need and give them the platform and opportunity, but they also have to have the pulse of the fans and not shove people they don't like down their throats. -

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) The White Sox and right-hander Hector Noesi agreed to a one-year, $1.95MM deal to avoid arbitration, CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman tweets. Noesi was projected to earn $1.95MM. Noesi pitched 166 of his 172 1/3 innings in 2014 with Chicago, posting a 4.39 ERA in 28 games (27 of them starts) for the Pale Hose. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/chicago-white-sox IMO, money well spent. agreed, if he gives similar to last year, I have no issue running him out every 5th day.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 10, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) I've been asked to outline a Special Genres class as an elective or alternative for their usual English 4 class. I've put together a reading list for a border literature/south Texas writers class now I am putting together a sports literature class. I'm hoping one or the other gets on the master schedule. The books need to be challenging and offer some opportunities for rigorous assignments. I've been thinking that Jon Krakauer's Into Thin Air (mountain climbing) should be included. Friday Night Lights (Texas football), Veeck as in Wreck (autobiography genre), Boys of Summer (baseball) . . . It can't be a "blow off class" for just guys. Among The Thugs by Bill Buford. Has societal and group mentality issues

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 30, 2014 -> 12:00 PM) thanks, but does that mean the team at the regular mlb level plays with 1 less I believe NBA has two inactive spots on their roster, so the roster is at 14, but the active roster for gameday is 12.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 08:06 PM) Lesnar's appearance totally a waste tonight.........................The Uso's do nothing for me I find then ultra boring. He's determined to go to FA again, or at least threatening to do so (UFC and Bellator would have interest), so WWE are kind of stuck with what to do with him right now. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) The Bulls will simply match the max offer sheet Butler gets. Not terribly concerned. The Spurs did the same thing with Kawhi Leonard. and won't that be before the expected salary cap expansion based off the new TV deal? So it might hurt them some short term, but if cap expands as expected it becomes less of a burden.
