  1. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ May 29, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WOW Santo I am amazed to hear that about the Sox at the Dome... where did you find this info at? they mentioned it before yesterday's game. Of course that record was 19-13. Not sure where 19-15 ranks, but it's not the worst.
  2. I would love to trade Crede to the Angels, but they don't seem to be like a team that makes any trades. Someone send Stoneman a copy of the 2005 ALCS and promise him that is the Crede he will get. Anybody but Kotchman or Santana for him will do.
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ May 29, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> why does it feel like the sox get gang raped everytime they go to the dome? pssst. Every team feels this way. The Sox have the best record by a visiting at the hump dome over the past 4 years.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shocking, isn't it, after this last offseason? Honestly, no. I can't remember an offseason in which I disagreed with so many moves. Pods has been a waste of money. Erstad is being overused. Our bullpen is young, cheap, and throws hard, but they are too inconsistent and I don't think Ozzie is using them to the best of his ability. The Garcia trade is not helping our major league team right now. What's Vazquez's motivation to pitch well? Crede is back to being a bottom of the league third baseman (should've sold high like a lot of us were asking for.) That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
  5. QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OPS has nothing to do with hitting. OPS is the average of slugging and on base percentage. walking to get on base has nothing to do with hitting Wow. Riddle me this; How is Thome suppose to get a hit if pitchers are scared s***less to face him and don't throw anything in the zone? Barry Bonds is only hitting .275 this year and Erstad is hitting .276. Draw your own conclusions.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Morneau's better against lefty pitchers, which is very important in our division. A hitter is still more likely to get twice as many PA's against RHP than LHP even in this divison.
  7. I hate the check swing K. Part of me says it should be a strike no matter what, but it seems like the side umps pay more attention to how the pitcher and catcher react.
  8. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who is Greg Miller? Just some kid who hasn't done anything in the major leagues since he heard his name mentioned three years ago. Of course we did have one poster here who planned on building the Sox future rotation for years to come around Edwin Jackson and Greg Miller at the expense of Konerko and Ordonez. These days this poster cries about how much our scouts suck. I'm glad he wasn't part of the staff back then.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everything fell into place for him during that offseason. The only competition for AJP was Tampa, and neither the Red Sox/Yankees went after Iguchi. As DA always talks about on here, a lot of guys that KW initially wanted went elsewhere and sucked, like Clement and Kendall.I don't recall any direct stories linking the Sox to Kendall before the 2005 season (only after we traded Olivo in 2004 there were rumors) and at the time he looked like a solid pickup with his OBP. Hell, Jason Kendall is currently the highest paid player on the Pirates roster. I remember the Greg Miller, Edwin Jackson, Odalis Perez, and Matt Clement kool aid flowing on this board too. Hell, we even had some people supporting Cristian Guzman. :o
  10. Show some heart AJ. I f***ing hate this dome. KW was never "awful" as a GM. He was a n00b early on and made some silly mistakes, but he turned it around before the 2003 season. You're pathetic Joe.
  11. Twins 10-14 with two outs tonight. Sox are 1-6.
  12. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ May 29, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Looks like Roger Clemens will be making his MLB debut on Monday Great! Another no name rookie pitcher to shut down the Sox.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 29, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Navarro seems obvious, but Schueler found a team that actually gave the Sox valuable parts to a division winner for him in Milwaukee. Valentin and Eldred. True, but how would 1997 Sox do if they had a Roger Clemens or even average league pitcher in Jaime's spot? The embarrasing White Flag Trade wouldn't have happened.
  14. Steve Sax, Jaime Navarro, Royce Clayton (just for the money we paid him and the how much of a cancer he was.)
  15. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 29, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who's complaining, I'm just staing my opinion on something. ...and you're trying to make it a fact. First you said he clipped him, then you said he came close. Which is it?
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ May 28, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From 2004 to 2007, we've been 19-14 at the Metrodome, including tonights loss and the series win we had there earlier this year. I guess I'm sort of confused as to how this means we're "so bad in Minny." If Bob was paying attention to the TV before the game, he would've clearly caught that and the note that record is second best behind........the Twins. If we're "so bad" in the HHH dome, what does that make the other 20+ teams with crappier records there?
  17. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ May 28, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like a slam against unions. Just curious, why should somebody make and/or demand significantly more money and have benefits if there are other people who can do the same job just as well or to close of quality who don't make the same demands? We should base it on citzenship?
  18. QUOTE(NUKE @ May 27, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is really disturbing to me how far backwards this nation is willing to bend over to allow these 12 million criminals to remain here and provide a drain on our system. It's equally disturbing to me that our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are willing to totally f*** this country over just to allow big business a pool of cheap, nearly slave labor to pick cherries and frame houses. I remember hearing the quote of a former Marine who owned a construction company saying the reason why he hired illegals was because it takes two Americans to make up the work for one illegal.
  19. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 28, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The bullpen combined makes less than 1/3 of what Vazquez gets. Going cheap on the bullpen is stupid. Justin Speier would have been a far more valuable player for the White Sox than Pods. That $18 million arm is currently sitting on the DL. How would that help the Sox? Think the Twins will auction off who gets to push the switch to demolish the HHH dome? I f***ing hate this place. Next time we should jst try and bunt the ball every at-bat.
  20. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ May 26, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It has been buried. He was caught months ago. I remember it being reported when he was arrested, and now it is being reported because his court date is coming up within the next week. Take off the tin foil. Nothing is being buried.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He also has an .827 career OPS which is the 3rd highest of any player currently on the Sox' 25 man roster. ...and he hasn't posted an OPS as high as that since 2004. He tends to hit LHP a lot better than RHP, but I don't know how else he currently fits in with this team. I still would've liked to kept Perez from the start, but perhaps could give us similar results. Career against Santana: 1-3. 1 RBI's 2 k's. I'd play him over Konerko tomorrow.
  22. Which Andrew; the cricket player, race car driver, or the filmmaker?
  23. Do we STRETCH!!! him out? or keep him in relief?
  24. ..a lot of that stuff could've been applied to the Sox before 2005. Is that why you posted it in Pale Hose Talk? #32 wasn't even 3 years ago. So what?
