QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Make him a die-hard Sox fan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why would we want a bandwagon fan? Make the asshole root for the Devil Rays. -
QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) So, I was at the game last night-- 1st row in left field-- and I was appalled at the idiotic behavior of the majority of the so-called fans in that section. 4 morons behind me heckled Shannon Stewart EVERY INNING with clever taunts like "Why don't the Twins get a f***ing real right fielder?"(Stewart plays left field) or, "Stewart sucks as bad as the Cubs." Then, of course, the endless stream of "Cubs Suck" chants. To all you drillrods who insist on obsessing over the Cubs-- DO NOT GO TO ANYMORE SOX GAMES. DO NOT EVEN WATCH THEM ON T.V. LIKE THE GUY WHO INSISTS ON GAY-BASHING AT EVERY TURN DUE TO HIS HATRED OF HIS OWN DEEP-ROOTED HOMOSEXUAL DESIRES, YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY SELF-LOATHING CUBS FANS, AND I'd APPRECIATE IF YOU'D STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM MY TEAM. Finally, the unacceptable practice of throwing the opposing team's home run balls back. Undoubtably started by one of the CUBS SUCK chanting cheeba monkeys, this is a WRIGLEY FIELD TRADITION, so if you really consider yourself a Sox fan, keep the ball if you're lucky to grab one. Or, give it to the nearest youngster-- you'll make his year. Or, take the ball and throw it at the nearest jagoff chanting "Cubs Suck" during the late innings of a tie ballgame between the SOX and OUR biggest rival over the last 3-4 years. f***heads. Thank You. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sat in the bleachers last night too, but some of the Cubs fans brought it upon themselves. They come to OUR ballpark wearing Cubs s*** rooting for the other team, or rooting the out of town scoreboard. The first "Twins" fans I saw ast night (he was wearing a Twins shirt and Hat) said "alright! Cubbies are winning 5-1!" Is it true a Cub fan threw back Carl's first homer? When I saw the replay I noticed someone in a Cubs jersey getting close to the ball, so he may have been the one who threw it back. I agree with you on the Joe Mauer homer as I was yelling "Don't throw it back! Keep that Cubbie s*** on the Northside!" and along with others started booing when he threw it back. If Cubs fans don't show up at our ballpark, there wouldn't be any "Cub suck" chants.

QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) I'll be at the game tonight, catch me in the bleachers if u want some free drinkies <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too. Which section?

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Now why on EARTH would someone rip KW??? He has done everything in his capacity (with the budget given to him) to put contenders on that field every single year since he took over after Schuey left. What happened was that all started off well, and then a couple bad eggs ruin it for the bunch. It's not KW's fault that Maggs and Frank missed over 50% of last season. It's not KW's fault that Carlos Lee actually happened to be a cancer in the clubhouse. It's not KW's fault that Jerry Maunel tinkered the team to losses. KW has done a very good job in analyzing our needs and deserves our props! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're wasting your time with him, but I just had to respond to his dumbass comment about being happy if the White Sox lose their ass this year. :headshake

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) I said that awhile back. Garcia is average. Not a #1. I can see 12-13 wins, with an ERA of 3.90-4.30. And, that is optomistic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jon Garland is an average pitcher. Freddy Garcia is better than Garland. Therefore Garcia is not an average pitcher. I showed you that Garcia's road numbers with the Sox last season were just as good or better than Mark Buehrle's, Johan Santana's, and Randy Johnson's. Did you miss the facts? He won 9 games with us last year in less than 3 and 1/2 months with a crappy offense (no Maggs or Frank) and he even missed a couple of starts. EDIT: I found the post. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) #2 - Looking at him since the trade, Garcia still seems shaky. Pretty average really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Average? (road stats last season) Player A: 3.25 ERA 1.04 WHIP .585 OPS against 10.15 K/9 Player B: 2.58 ERA .926 WHIP .576 OPS against 9.73 K/9 Player C: 2.77 ERA .88 WHIP .541 OPS against 10.17 K/9 Player D: 2.63 ERA 1.07 WHIP .631 OPS against 6.03 K/9 Would you consider all or any of these players "average?" -

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Actually, if the Sox hold true to form, their next loss will be Thursday vs. Det. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it will be next Sunday. They win the first two games of ther series, so since there isn't a third game in the Twins and Tigers series....... can you say "6 game winning streak?" -

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) WIn or KW gets Fired.. Either way we all win.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anyone who is happy after a White Sox loss is not a White Sox fan. Just an asshole, plain and simple.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Ozzie! Why?! Why do you persist in giving me an ulcer?! Vizcaino is NOT a 30 pitch releiever. He's good for one inning. That's it. Why can't you figure that out? Just look at the numbers if you didn't learn anything from the last game! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know! What the f*** is Ozzie's problem? :headshake

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) For future reference, can we please not have the following teams' fans visit here: Cubs (well, duh!) Twins Indians Tigers Royals Yankees I think it would make sense to NOT do this with division rivals because it would get too intense for many to handle. As for the Yankees, too many of our posters have way too much hate for them to allow them on our board. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about adding the Red Sox to that list? Here's a list from Marlinbaseball.com AL East Blue Jays - http://www.bluejayway.ca/ Devil Rays - http://www.raysbaseball.com/ Orioles - http://www.orioleshangout.com Red Sox -http://www.sonsofsamhorn.com Yankees - http://www.nyyfans.com AL Central Tigers - http://www.tigerstalk.com White Sox - http://www.soxtalk.com AL West A's - http://www.oakball.net NL East Braves - http://www.bravescenter.com Mets - http://www.amazinz.com/ Phillies - http://www.philaphans.com NL Central Astros - http://www.astrosdaily.com/ Brewers - http://www.brewerfan.net Cardinals - http://www.cardsclubhouse.com Cubs - http://www.insidetheivy.com Reds - http://www.redszone.com NL West Diamondbacks - http://www.dbackfans.com/ Giants - http://pub15.ezboard.com/bgiantsvirtualforum

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Freddie works very slow, too slow, the defense gets unsettled, we need him though, he needs to come on strong and act like a number 1. he is more like a number 2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So in his tenure with the Sox you wouldn't consider Garcia a number 1? I really hate having to break out his stats every other week.

From reading some Brewers boards, the Brewers will hold a press conference at 3:45 to announce they have signed Ben Sheets to a 4 year- $38 million deal.
