Right on Jim! That's why I advocate(d) trading Konerko. He could bring 1-2 (3?) SOLID players in return that could fill holes for us. Unless you are the cubs ( :fthecubs ), no one trades you something for nothing; "you got to give, to get!".

I would like to throw in my "2 cents", if I may. I believe that there is a difference between being spiritual and being religious. For example, just because I only go to synagogue 1-2 times a year, I don't feel that anyone is "more of a Jew" than I am. Last year for the "High Holidays" (holiest days of the year for Jews), I took out my prayerbook(s) and prayed at home; I don't believe that just because I didn't pray in synagogue that my prayers "don't count". Your faith is in your heart and in your soul; it doesn't reside in the church, synagogue, mosque, etc., down the street. You can love/worship G-d in any way YOU see fit. I pray everyday, from work, home, my car, etc. It still "counts". Peace.

I am grateful that there are younger people on this site to recommend new music to "old codgers" like myself. Please give me some more recommendations. I like my r&r a little on the "hard side", no mellow ballad type stuff for me!

Please don't put words in my mouth. I am asking a question, that's all. I can tell you that since Bush (overreacted and) changed the INS to Customs and Border Protection, under the auspices of the Department of Homeland Security, I will make $3000 - $6000 per year LESS than I would have under the old system, and have a LOT more responsibilities than I had. I am also breathing more polluted air, and drinking "dirtier" water since restrictions on pollutants have been eased by the current administration.

Unfortunately, I think you are 100% correct. If Bush is re-elected, there WILL be at least 4 more years of war, and tons of casualties. IMO Bush's wars are a great way to detract attention away from the fact that he is the worst president we have ever had. The more the American public focuses on the "War on Terror", the less attention is paid to the weakening economy, joblessness, lack of health care, tax cuts for the wealthy, the environment, etc., not to mention Enron, Halliburton, etc. Also, if GWB is elected, he'll most likely try to re-enact the draft, so that more middle and lower class kids will have to go to war, and Bush's rich pals won't have to worry about their kids going to war.

Since when is Garland considered "valuable pitching"? If valuable is synonamous (sp?) with "inconsistent", then I guess Garland could be considered valuable..
