  1. We need players that care about losing. All the Yankees were just standing around in the dugout and didn't look upset after the loss today. They still have their millions regardless. Konerko should go to the Yankees because that is exactly how he was acting at the end of this season.
  2. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 7, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) now it's set up for a magglio vs frank ALCS sweet go tigers. Boo go A's! Frank was my idol growing up and I also have money on Oakland to win the series.
  3. My top 3: 1) Down 9-1 going into the 7th and then Iguchi comes through with 7 rbi in the last two innings and the 2 out grand slam to tie it. I was there and it was an AMAZING experience. 2) Franks return. My boyhood hero hits two home runs, including his first at bat in Comisky as a member of another team. Mack'f first homer as a White Sox and then Pablo's walk of bunt in the White Sox come from behind victory over Barry Zito and the A's. I was at this game as well. 3) The brawl/Iguchi's slam and AJ's dong at Wrigley.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Zumaya is going to be one hell of a closer. Todd Jones >>> Zumaya
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) What does that entail? High shool students visit the middle schools and teach the kids anti-bullying lesson plans, do role plays, mentor the kids, and encourage bystanders/kids in the middle to stand up for what is right. I think the program really works when you have high schoolers teaching the material instead of the actual teachers because they look up to us and want to be like us.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) Me and the wife are there are the front lines doing everything we can to connect with our youth. I mentioned it in my schoolboard thread, but some of the stories you hear from these kids are just heartbreaking. I can't really share too much because of confidentiality, but suffice to say things you think of as "can't/doesn't happen here" are often happening right next door, and all to often. I can't imagine living the lives of many people here, and it just tears you up when the youngest don't have a chance. Does Michigan City have the CASS program? I'm a mentor at VHS for CASS (Creating A Safer School) and it is a great program that seems to be working here.
  7. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) well, I actually saw the movie twice. i wondered the same thing the second time I went. Here's what I saw: when bam carries the plunger over to his ass, he never holds it completely downward. However, he does hold it on an downward angle for a second or two so that it appears that anything in the plunger would logically fall out. I don't know why you would just happen to have a plunger when you are doing that prank. It appeared to be at a hotel... and I don't know any hotels that keep plungers around. So my feeling on it is mixed. It may be true. I just don't know. I'm skeptical about two other skits: 1) eating horses*** - I just can't believe that happened. 2) the snake bite on Pontius's wang - He didn't seem to scream or yell as much as I would imagine for having your snake bit by a snake. I'm curious to hear other people's impressions Outside of a hardware store, a hotel is the most logical place for a plunger. There is a toilet in every room, why wouldn't they have a plunger? Yeah I wasn't a firm believer in that scene either; however, a penis doesn't exactly bleed. There's only blood in there when you have a boner. If that dude got a boner when his cock was being eaten (literally) by a snake, then he's got some problems.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) For the record, SoxFan101 sent me a PM in response to my post. I want to note this because there has yet to have been an argument where SoxFan101 hasn't been the one to get the last snide remark in. Carry on. What the hell are you doing now?
  9. QUOTE(PartyForFree @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Not sure I understand you...care to expand on that? Nobody with the Party Poker account name "chisoxfan715" has signed up at PartyForFree.net. You need to fully complete the sign-up process. As long as you used the bonus code (GIVEMEMY50), you'll still get your money. Click here and ignore the instructions for downloading the software: http://www.partyforfree.net/soxtalk You need to get right to the end where our software calls you to verify your phone number. They called me and I got my code and typed it in. Maybe my account name is varba and my screen-name or whatever is chisoxfan715.
  10. QUOTE(Soxy @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) I can put a spoiler warning on the thread if you want to discuss. . . Do it, do it! *******Spoiler***************** * ** *** **** ***** Spoiler coming up Did they really plunge that out of his asshole? Some of my friends thought it was fake, but I thought it was real and the funniest part of the movie.
  11. Still waiting on confirmation for chisoxfan715.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Jackass Number 2 was incedibly messed up, and incredibly hilarious. dare i say better than the first? i dare! So many good laughs. Great movie haha.
  13. It won't let me create a username for PartyPoker because I have an account with Empire Poker. Why is that? I only have an account for play money on empire, so why isn't it letting me sign up? Can I delete my empire account somehow?
  14. We'd be 3.5 back if we would have at least taken care of business against Seattle these first two games. WTF
  15. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Surprise, surprise... I still can't believe you guys hate the Red Sox more than you hate this team. Disgusting, disgraceful. I like Yankees fans.
  16. Well it turns out my dad got diamond suite tickets from a guy at work and he somehow snuck me into the diamond suite without a ticket tonight. We were right behind home plate a few suites away from Reinsdorf's suite. It made the night a little bit more bearable because I could drown my sorrows in lots of free food.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) they scan tickets dude. I have upper deck tickets, but I want to stand on the concourse and watch the game. In order to stand on the concourse, I will need to get access to the lower bowl. I am going to try to do this by showing the workers at the gate to the 100 level an old ticket from August that is in section 141.
  18. Do all the season ticket holders have the same picture on their ticket for the same games? I'm hoping that I can show my ticket from a game in August with a picture of the parade and just cover up the date to get into the lowe deck tonight. Will I get caught or do the pictures on the ticket depend on the ticket not the date?
  19. If they don't win tonight, I might seriously consider turning down skybox tickets. I have more important things to do than get pissed off about a heartless team.
  20. In....that is what my World Series DVDs will be doing the day we are officially eliminated.
  21. Im thinking 8 shutout innings in the world series clinching game on the road is quite an accomplishment. He got out of some HUGE pressure situations in that game too. On a side note, why isn't the division clinching game from last year on the list? He pitched great that game.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) The thing is, I can't see Freddy shutting anyone down and I like to know if we have a guy on the mound that he's capable of shutting a guy down when he has his A game. Freddy's A game right now consists of 3-4 runs in 7 innings. Thats a good game right there, but I'm spoiled (hell I'll admit it) and when one of our pitchers throws an A game, I think they are capable of it being a 8-9 inning game with 0-3 runs (usually 1-2).
  23. I got to be in Detroit for the clincher last year, so I won't be too pissed off if my dad shoots the idea down. I am taking him to the Tigers game next week, so maybe he will want to return the favor?
  24. I was at school and working...how was his velocity??
