QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) Considering Russia would be our only arms competitor and that they have already developed a warhead that would bypass our SDM, cool. But then again, anything that is Russian and flies often doesn't do what it is supposed to. For the 90th time. The purpose of a national missile defense is to defend against a missile attack from a rouge nation like N. Korea & Iran and the like. In the case of N. Korea they have a ballistic missile in development that can hit the continental U.S.

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/25/opinion/25herbert.html? Ever since William Safire left the Times they have had nobody at all worth reading. Just a bunch of leftist assclowns who sit around and pout about the plight of terrorists and those who support them. Either that or they sit around and cry about funding being pulled for needle exchange for IV drug users. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/26/opinion/26sat1.html What a sad bunch of morons they are.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) Kyoto, Kyoto, Kyoto. I'm tired of this s***! Kyoto will do NOTHING to help "Global Warming" or any other polution problem. It held the US to an unfair standard than it did other industruialized nations. I'm glad Bush didn't sign it. Hell, Clinton/Gore didn't even sedn it for ratification because it would have fell flat on it's face. Stop bringing up this bulls*** and taking your little potshots at the US! No need to be upset. When the nations who signed onto Kyoto start feeling the economic pain of compliance then we can sit back and laugh at them.

NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Yeah I was wondering about preserving it too. I guess she's not a swallower anyway.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) I wonder if he went on the Jurassic Carl diet. Wasn't he feeling a little heavy also? How about the Giambi Diet, you know, the one where you shed muscle and not fat.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) An excellent, excellent site! And of course the the only thing we know that most certainly would destroy the earth is.... A Vogon superspace highway. Or an Irudium PU 36 explosive space modulator.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) I question the timing of this test. "Lets show those canooks what our bottle rockets can do!" --George w. Bush But whatever, this is very unimportant in the scheme of things. Actually this is one in a series of tests of the Aegis cruiser based system and a viable theater missile defense is very significant in the grand scheme of things.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/02/24/missile.d...e.ap/index.html Good stuff, now to finish working the bugs out of the land based system.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Boy that is one of those "how come I didn't think of that" ideas. Hopefully that could cut down on Gapers. That's one of the most annoying things in the world. You're stuck in traffic for what seems like hours and you finally come to the cause and its some fender bender in the opposite lanes.

Tex with a classic right here.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) I just heard that a jury of Michael Jackson peers have been selected. Peers? Where the hell did they find 12 f*cked up in the head, bleached skin, holding kids over a railing, morons? My God, there cannot be 12 people like Wacko Jacko on this planet just saying Post of the year!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) During the Vietnam War, the north Vietnamese could have printed hundreds and hundreds of pictures showing that Americans did not want to be at war. Yet we all know that our society is never 100% behind anything. Although Reagan - Mondale came very close. And I do believe many Iraqi people are happy we are there. So did Nixon vs McGovern.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) But if we are to take the Bush Doctrine of spreading democracy everywhere, then using that *if* France is taken out by an authoritarian state with Bush in office -- at least doctrinally he would be obligated to use the power to save them. Its called the NATO treaty.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) "ol' tainted Cuban cigar trick..." Good thing Clinton wasn't in the CIA... Nah, if Clinton was in the CIA he would have hired some bimbo to park herself under Castro's desk and try to mellow him out that way.

QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Lakers will trade Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George to the Utah Jazz in exchange for big man Carlos Boozer http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3410834 They already have a rapist there, now they have a boozer too? What's next? A crackhead? -

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Could you blame me after the '03-'04 offseason? And let's not forget that I have previously posted here that I was GLAD I was wrong about this offseason. But let's not act like JR and Co. went out this offseason and added $10-$20 million in payroll. JR and Co. dumped big contracts for small contracts in an attempt to address deficiencies. Will it work? NOBODY KNOWS AND THAT IS MY POINT. You're one of the smarter posters here JimH even if we don't see eye-to-eye at times. Be honest..... don't you think some of the predictions and expectations posted here as of late border on ridiculous and extremely difficult for most players, based on past performance, to attain? Don't you think most here are expecting too much from a team with a 2nd year coach that made a ton of mistakes last season and has yet to play Game 1 on the field? I'm taking a wait and see attitude with the club this year. I give them their props for making necessary changes but now they have to go out and perform and we all know this team is capable of taking whole parts of a season off. Is it so bad to demand that the team perform before drinking the kool aid!?

Update: NHL Dead...Again
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) the NHL does not have the fanbase that the MLB did when it went on strike. Look at how the MLB suffered after the strike, and with the trouble the NHL is already in, this ISN"T going to help the game. Interest in Hockey was already falling and now the owners will be lucky to fill half their arenas if and when the game starts back up. Frankly I don't really care either. I can get my hockey fix watching the Wolves. Much more entertaining to watch and far cheaper as well. -
I just love how threads like this get a ton of replies every time

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Yep. Aside from what they're selling, they use sex to do it. You think the FDA would allow a Viagra commercial featuring the Coors twins? Yeah, one on each arm of some old geezer who has a big smile on his face. Might I suggest grandpa from "Road Trip"?

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I honestly think the last thing you could say about France is that they are friendly to muslim extremists. Because Chirac won't refer to Hezbollah as terrorists doesn't mean that France doesn't consider them such. If you look at the actions taken in France within its own borders against people of Islamic faith, you might have a different point of view. The problem with that is that Hezbollah can still operate within Frances borders until they get put on that blacklist.
