When I was over there there was a checkpoint incident where a car stopped and the driver frantically motioned to a soldier in the 3d ID ( the same division I served in ) that his supposedly pregnant wife was in need of help. When the soldier came over and looked in the car to see what was up the man shot the soldier in the face and killed him. Then there was the incident on the 1st day of the invasion where a group of "surrendering" Iraqi's bushwacked a platoon of Marines killing 6 of them. The Muslim extremist insurgents we're fighting in Iraq are savages. They employ Mosques as weapons dumps, they hide among civillians, they behead aid workers, hang people from bridges, they murder innocent Iraqis in the name of Islam, they explode car bombs in crowded market places.......the list goes on and on. I take no pity for this insurgent and put in the same position I probably would have plugged the guy myself.

The networks played this game in 2000 and they got burnt for their trouble, calling Florida for Gore a couple of hours before the polls closed and tamping down turnout among Bush voters. This time they tried to tamp down the Republican vote and swing the election to Kerry by putting out skewed exit polls that claimed that Kerry was kicking Bush's ass when Bush was actually winning the whole time. Trying to swing the election with phoney predictions didnt work in 2000 and it failed miserably in 2004. How about the leftist "mainstream" media stop trying to fiddle with peoples minds and report in an objective manner. It's bias like this which is the reason Fox News is cleaning up the floor with all the old line networks in the ratings.

I was reading the latest edition of Time Magazine and it mentioned that a lot of the early exit polls were skewed. I'm having to type this directly from the article describing the action on election day. "Bush was getting crushed in Pennsylvania and losing in Ohio and Florida. But something was odd. The polls were based on a turnout of 59 percent women and 41 percent men." If that's how the exit pollsters were doing business then it's pretty easy to see how Kerry was ahead in the early going.

Then you have Kofi Annan telling everybody Bush was engaging in an illegal war while at the same time both he and his son were taking oil bribes from Saddam Husseins regime, funds that should have gone to ease the suffering of the Iraqi citizens. And he claims to care about the worlds downtrodden. Hmmph!
