It's not like the Patriots were that much more dominant than the Rams in 2002, if you remember they came in as underdogs. Underdogs to the Steelers and the Raiders too. The next year, Peyton and the Colts lost 41-0 to the Jets in the first round. 0 points, you can't blame that on his defense. There's no way you can say definitively that he would have won the Super Bowl with New England. Just like you can't say that Marino would have definitely won with the 49ers or Barry Sanders would have won with the Cowboys. Teams win because they have the right people for their system.
