  1. Cyborg is a great song off this album. Overall, it's a solid listen, though not my genre of choice.
  2. Sexson is going to be a FA this offseason. He's a similar player to PK who should get a similar contract and a team won't have to give up anything player-wise to get him. That hurts the Sox bargaining position.
  3. Man, I used to love me some Conan... I probably watched him 3-4 times a week for a good 6 years. All of a sudden (literally, overnight) about a year ago, he lost it. He had to have lost a writer or two, because he just went to s*** real fast. Or maybe it was when he got married. I can't even watch him anymore it's so bad. Gimme some Jon Stewart or Ali G.
  4. I can't imagine that fans of other teams think Jose is nearly as s***ty as most Sox fans seem to think he is. An OPS of .790, 5 straight years of 25+ dongs, a solid glove, a moustache, a clubhouse leader.... many of the teams looking for a SS this offseason would probably be happy to have Hose fall in their laps at 2.5 mil. KW should schnag a high OBP, contact hitting right fielder this offseason and keep Jose at short. Then trade Crede and put Juan at 3rd.
  5. ESPN reporting this. They're sending at least Gonzalez... and I hope a lot more.
  6. wooooooooooooooord there are at least 2 white sox fans in rochy
  7. Is Majewski still a decently regarded prospect? I saw him pitch a few weeks ago sitting next to some scouts right behind home plate. He looked good; much better than any other pitcher that game (better than Josh Stewart, if you can believe it). Dude had some pop on his fastball, sharp movement on his breakingball. Still, I like the deal.
  8. Is there such a thing as back-loaded contracts in the NBA? Kobe could sign for 3 million or whatever for 04-05 and once Robinson, Davis and the other scrubs contracts are off the books let his salary inflate. They could avoid losing Hinrich in a sign-and-trade this way.
  9. No, but i suppose one with an 87 MPH one will suffice.
  10. Of course they're also missing a major cog in their lineup in Glaus.
  11. Jon has some absolutely filthy f***ing stuff today AND he's getting his breaking ball over nicely.
  12. What is the ratio like when the games are at Wrigley?
  13. If Crisp would have taken the correct angle on that ball, he wouldn't have had to make such a great catch. Looked like Jurassic Carl with the angle he took.
  14. I was at the Rochester-Charlotte game tonight. There was a short popup hit by to shallow center that Valdez (I think it was Valdez anyway) and Reed converged on. Valdez made a really nice play, but the two collided. Reed looked shaken up but stayed in for another at bat and then left the game. Looked like a pretty nasty collision. The at bat after the collision Reed had an RBI single and looked fine, so hopefully his leaving the game was nothing more than precautionary.
  15. My favorite episode has to be Homer Bad Man, in which Homer is accused of sexual harassment after grabbing a gummy Venus de Milo off the babysitter's ass. lol comedy The scene from Rock Bottom Homer: Somebody had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she was sitting on [splice] her sweet [splice] can. [splice] -- o I grab her -- [splice] sweet can. [splice] Oh, just thinking about [splice] her [splice] can [splice] I just wish I had he -- [splice] sweet [splice] sweet [splice] s-s-sweet [splice] can. Jones: So, Mr. Simpson: you admit you grabbed her can. What do you have to say in your defense? Homer: [looking lustful in a clearly-paused VCR shot] Jones: Mr. Simpson, your silence will only incriminate you further. [paused shot of Homer grows larger] No, Mr. Simpson, don't take your anger out on me. Get back! Get back! Mist -- Mr. Simpson -- nooo! Man: [quickly] Dramatization -- may not have happened.
  16. I'm not sure we should be so confident that E-Lo is going to be back next year. I think he said last offseason that the thought of going to San Diego would be appealing. It's close to his hometown of Tijuana, and Petco looks to be the kind of park to attract quality free agent pitchers. If he continues his season at the current pace and ends up with 17-18 wins and a 3.60 ERA, what's he going to ask for? If fat ass Ponson got 3yr/$22.5mil, E-Lo could probably get 8 per.
  17. why is texas playing such a boner lineup?
  18. To which two seasons of Sopranos are you referring? I think this might be the best season so far. There's only been two poor episodes this season (and one of those was absolutely god-awful). I wish I hadn't heard the actress that plays Adrianna was going to be on the Friends spinoff show...kinda gave it away that something was going to happen to her is-probably-and-should-be-more-attractive-than-i-find-her ass before this season ended.
  19. Of course I'm hesitant to say it was a good start, but he was throwing some strikes out there. I don't know where his strikeout pitch was, but he looked comfortable, much moreso than in his starts last year. With Kelly out in the pen now, you gotta give Neal a second start.
  20. Sounds like you need a COX-2 inhibitor. Take an advil or two a day. It should help pretty quickly if it's inflamed/arthritic.
  21. Cotts could easily be stretched out to a starter this season. It generally only takes a few weeks. I think last year Escobar up in Toronto came out of the pen for April and half of May and then was moved into the rotation. His first few starts, they only let him pitch maybe 4-5 innings, but he still finished the season with 26 starts and 180 innings. That said, I'd like Cotts to stay in the pen. Give Wright another couple starts (I can't see him getting pulled from the rotation this soon) and then give Rauch or Diaz a shot.
  22. Yeah, it's national. I saw it here in NY during Fox's nationally televised Red Sox-Skanks a couple weeks ago.
  23. NPR is a 98% privately-funded organization, with 1-2% of its funding coming from competitive federal grants for which they apply. These grants add up only 1-2 million dollars per year.
  24. An excerpt from a Jack McDowell interview on Chicagosports.com: (Mark) McGwire was a done deal in '92 or '93, whenever he was a free agent the first time. He called me and asked me about the team. It was done. He was coming. The Sox called Frank and asked if he'd give up first base to go to DH. He said no. We'd have killed people with that lineup. I wonder if Reinsdork still would have pushed for the work stoppage in '94 if McGwire had been in the Sox lineup and a strong playoff appearance was nearly guaranteed. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
