  1. Fullerton has a home game televised tonight. If anyone wants to see a high school gym in college check it out. I would go but I got class. Its actually kind of cool ESPN will be there.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Tim Thomas would of been included. TT straight up for Kenyon and Nene. See if they bite. They seem pretty desperate to unload Kenyon's contract and it would give the Bulls two quality bigs. I have no idea if either team would do it and obviously it depends on how desperate Denver is to dump that contract.
  3. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Yeah, hopefully Tyson can put two halves together tonight. Obviously when Tyson plays well the Bulls are a hell of a lot better team. And I agree, the Bulls really need another big, but I'm not sold on Drew Gooden as that guy. If we had Curry we'd be at least .500. The Bulls need for a low post scorer is obviou and while I am glad we moved Curry (I think he's soft although extremely talented; he wasn't worth what he got considering the risks). However, we need to find a replacement big time. I'd hope that we have a shot at Gay or Aldridge via the Knicks pick, but Gooden is a good low post scorer who could get a good number of minutes and help our offense out a lot. Plus, no one is going to tell me he's worse than say Malik Allen defensively. I think having him back with Hinrich and with a good coach like Skiles would do him some good. If he can't succeed with that than I'd have my doubts (Skiles gets the best out of his guys as long as the other player is willling to work hard).
  4. We were up pretty big but the Nugs closed the quarter strong. Still a 9 point lead at the half. The ball movement has been tremendous and we are kicking ass in the boards. Tyson with 6 points and 11 boards in the first half. He's a beast and Songalia has been great as well. Hinrich has had some nice passes and Gordon/Noc have looked good too. Haven't seen much Deng or Duhon. Actually I'm starting to think there may be a true shot Duh gets dealt around the break for a guy like Gooden (or another big). I like Duhon a lot but I think its easier to find a backup pg as opposed to a quality big that can score (plus thats kind of a big time need for this team).
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 07:09 PM) Northwestern's final 6 possessions yielded 17 points. They scored 18 points in the first half. They must loosen the rims in the final minutes of the game there. Was it just insanely hot shooting for did Iowa lax on defense? Or was it tons of 2nd chance points? I take it you were able to watch it. I guess I should consider myself lucky that it isn't on tv. The Bulls are looking good though.
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) The annual Hawkeye collapse at Welsh-Ryan is underway I can't figure out why they consistantly beat us. This stretch could get really ugly with a game at IU on Saturday and you know IU is gonna be playing hard. IU's been slumping and just got clobbered so my guess is we'll see a much better Indiana and I think we all know how Iowa plays on the road (ie, mediocre). They lose Saturday and they may find themselves very quickly out of the big 10 race (considering we still have our game @ Illinois and than of course at home against MSU. Damn it, ticks me off that NU got us yet again.
  7. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) by the looks of the rope around its feet it might of been tranquilized... I just got to say the sig and avy combo = rocking. One of my favorite movies and just a total badass moment of the movie and than Futurama...one of my favorite shows ever.
  8. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) [email protected]? Beat me to it.
  9. Sounds like its getting worse. I vaguely heard something on the radio today and it mentioned Roenick being one of the players that was a part of it.
  10. Well the Hawks got two straight on the road. First in Evanston against a team that has had our number and than Saturday (ESPN HD...WOOT) at IU. I'm pumped Iowa is getting more TV time this year.
  11. I don't mind Gooden cause I think he's a good player, but defensively he lacks. At teh same time, we need some solid front court scoring and he would provide it. I'd hate to deal Duhon cause I really like him as our 1st guard off the bench. If we could find a legit two (with Gordon/TT/draft pick going somewhere) and than find a way to spin some other part for Gooden than i'd be really pumped. However, I think they'd want a little something more than a spare part for Gooden. I think Hinrich would be a good person to know whether Gooden would be a solid fit. If Hinrich tells Pax and Skiles he'll work hard, I have faith in that happening. Plus he'll be in a good system where he'll be asked to work hard. I think Skiles does a good job getting the best of his guys and if one of the guys isn't willing to put in the effort they will be shipped out.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 12:36 PM) Meh, don't get to worked up in the polls, it's cool to see your team in there but it's not like they mean anything. Iowa where they are right now is about fine, imo. I think they could be higher in the poll if you looked at the total picture, but at the same time, they are in a pretty fair place since they haven't exactly proven themselves as a powerhouse over the years (and while polls really mean this year, I think it always helps when your a sucessful program because often times you have players that have been there and done that and experience helps). If Iowa finishes the year atop the big 10 standings, I could honestly give a hoot where they are ranked cause they'd be making the tourney and I'd already be more than pleased with my teams performance. Hopefully they can make some noise in the tourney, but right now its just playing well consistently and trying to get one win after another.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:11 AM) As a Steelers fan, I had to even rate it as only fair. Ben played very poorly, especially compared to his previous playoff games. Steelers defense backed off of the blitz early, and it cost them yardage. It was like watching a completely different Steelers team early in the game, not sure what was going on. Neither team brought their "A" game, and it showed on TV. But a championship is a championship if you are a fan of the winning team, it just wasn't nearly as fun for the other teams fans to watch. If the Bears were in this game I'd have been going nuts too. When its your team you could care less if its boring, especially when you end up winning.
  14. LSU should move into the polls, but instead Colorado holds the 25th spot.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) How the f*** is Colorado still ranked? They lost to Iowa freaking State! Forgot to tell ya, but that was a nice win for you guys. Maybe they found their mojo.
  16. He's a taller, better passing version of Ben Gordon. He also gets lit up like a light bulb defensively...just like Ben.
  17. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:18 AM) What the hell, did I miss "bash your team" weekend or something? At least none of you have it as bad as us NU people. This is going to sound weird since I've been bashing them all year, but I'm starting to warm up to the Illini a bit more. I used to whole-heartedly agree with Chisoxfn, but their defense has been better than I expected in Big Ten play, and McBride and Randle are starting to become bigger offensive threats. They definitely rely way too much on the 3, but they've started playing a bit better even if Dee shoots like crap. That said, they still have some tough teams left to go. They've still got a shot to win the conference, but they're going to have to win a tough one to compensate for that Penn State loss. They look like a #3 seed that'll make the Sweet 16, but I wouldn't count on them beating someone good. If they get a tough #6 seed they could go down though. Indiana and Wisconsin also really seem to be slipping right now. I expected a drop-off from Wisconsin, but I didn't expect a loss to Purdue. Neither of them are in sync now, and that is really dangerous in the Big Ten. I think Indiana can still come up with a tough win somewhere with a good shooting night, but Wisconsin has been brutal. That unexpected Illinois loss really seemed to open up the conference a lot. Now that Iowa has a one game lead on everyone their chances got a lot better, although they have to shoot more like they did the last few games than they did early. As I said last time, Illinois, MSU, and Michigan are right in the thick of it, and one of those teams will probably win the conference. I don't want to rule out OSU though because they have a balanced team that is fairly deep. They have a lot of tough games left though, and their best win to this point by far is Wisconsin at home. I honestly think Illinois defense is why they will be right in the thick of things at the end of big 10 play. Its also the same reason Iowa should be right in the thick of a conference title. Both teams have defenses that can help them when they have down shooting nights, but Iowa has a few more scorers than Illinois. Although Randle has been stepping up his game as of late. I just don't think either team has the firepower to get past the Sweet 16. I should also add I'll go nuts if Iowa makes it to the sweet 16. I just expect baby steps from Iowa and I'm always waiting for them to fail me
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) have none of you heard of imdb? jeesh http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0646351/ That was the ooze show right? I vaguely remember that. I guess she's going to be on some new tv show called Pepper Dennis (whatever that is).
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) Last movie I saw the girl from Alex Mack in was that movie where she couldn't date and her sister was Julia Stiles. I don't remember the name of it though because it was a chick flick and I only saw it because I liked a girl that wanted to see it. Haha, I think that was in like 2002. But yeah, between the girl from Alex Mack and Dina from "Salute your Shorts" in that bikini in the one episode, I first discovered the greatness of the female gender. That movie was a parody of a shakespeare novel. I got to watch it in a class during high school and it was far better than the normal english curriculum. She was in 100 or 1000 girls (forget what it was called) and was still looking quite hot.
  20. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) You Can't Do That on Television - was a ritual for me, i'm 28 though but watched it daily. Double Dare - Obstacle Course, need I say more? Lancelot Linc, Secret Chimp - Creators of this HAD to be on acid, but it was damn funny. Mr. Wizard - Used to watch it every morning at 6:30 AM!! Nick Arcade - Looking back now, man that show was cheesy Figure It Out - Summer Sanders was HOT!! I still watch Nickelodeon Games and Sports channel now, at age 28, to see old episodes of "Finders, Keepers", "Double Dare", Legends of the Hidden Temple, etc. I totally forgot about Nick Arcade. I remember a few of my buddies and I always wished we would be on the show cause we though we'd own at it. Oddly enough this thread led to a discussion at my buddies super bowl party where we talked about old school shows and Mr. Wizard came up. He was the before and more lame version of Bill Nye (or however you spell it).

    Futurama

thanks for the more detailed info kalapse. I thought it said movies but I wasn't sure if it was movies or episodes.
  22. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 08:20 AM) re-check 'em out here... which are you favs? mine where the streaking lamb, the grizzly one & for some reason the hummer 'little monster' one made me lmao... I liked the Fed Ex caveman one. Aside from that I thought the commercials were just as lame as the Super Bowl. By far the worse all around super bowl (commercials and game) that I've ever seen. The game sucked because of the pathetic officiating and the commercials were pathetic.
  23. Thus far mines been awesome. I've had it right around a year and I use it when I'm on campus, when I'm riding my snowboard and when I run. Its gotten banged up and thus far has kept on ticking.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) They showed the replay of that holding call. There was nothing that struck my eyes as holding either. Nothing even close. The Steelers line had a bunch of plays that would have been called holding if that standard was their holding standard. Don't care what Madden says except in that it agrees with what my eyes saw. Extending your arm does not equal a pushoff. You can extend your arm without pushing off. If there was a push...it was incredibly minor. That was the call of the game. Cause the Seahawks should have been on the two. Obviously Hassel still goes and throws the pick and another horrid call shows up, but that was such a phantom holding. You'll see a lot of holdings that don't get called, but the one that was called was horrid. The lineman was beat and pretty much fell flat, never held the guy AT ALL. HORRID. This was honestly about as bad as a superbowl as I've ever seen. Its too bad too, cause it would have been good had the refs made the right calls.
