  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) Muhammed certainly looked like a #1 receiver 2 years ago when Steve Smith went down for the whole year and Delhomme and Muhammed played catch the whole year. Even last year where he led the freaking league in receiving and td's, IIRC. Maybe he was 2nd in receiving yards.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) it was mentioned awhile ago, and makes alot of sense to me. Agreed. I just hope people don't overpay him due to his playoff run. I think they will. Kind of like how Az Hakim got way overpaid.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Hawks just traded Spacek to the Oilers for some Finnish Winger e.g Salary Dump. Good riddance. Now if only Wirtz would sell the franchise for a box of donuts (ie salary dump). Well plus they could get some damn tasty glazed or jelly filled. Obviously not Krispy Kreme good, the Hawks don't have that type of talent.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Steff this "child" is an highschool id say thats past the innocent stage.....and this "child" was the one making the hissy fit about not having a social life because of omg HOMEWORK! While it amazes me that a parent would do their kids HW and sickens me at the same time.... saying an "innocent child" is a bit much. A lot of posters here are in highschool or just their 1st/2nd year of college and I wouldnt call them innocent children. Stupid WHARRIS being on the sports know it all poll instead of me! Good point. I honestly can say if my parents told me they'd do my work I'd of told em to piss off. Its a thing called morals and having someone else do your work while you take credit for it, well its just not cool. Now all the admins and mods are gonna come running and saying how I really do nothing, but its true
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060126/ap_on_.../border_tunnels SAN DIEGO - Authorities said they discovered more than 2 tons of marijuana in a cross-border tunnel that began near the Tijuana airport and ended inside a warehouse on the U.S. side. The 2,400-feet long passageway is longer than most of the 21 cross-border tunnels that have been discovered since authorities began keeping track after the Sept. 11 attacks, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said. "It was like being in a cavern or a cave," said Michael Unzueta, customs special agent in charge in San Diego. The tunnel's discovery prompted the U.S. Attorney's office in San Diego to open a criminal investigation, said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Mexican authorities found the entrance about 100 yards south of the border on Tuesday, and officers on the U.S. side found the exit Wednesday. Mexican officials allowed reporters and photographers, including an Associated Press photographer, into the tunnel late Wednesday. The tunnel was about five feet wide and high enough for an adult to stand inside, had a cement floor, and lights mounted on one of the hard soil walls. It was equipped with a pulley system on the Mexican side. Four tunnels have been discovered this month in the Tijuana-San Diego area, including more primitive tunnel that was also found Wednesday when a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle struck a sinkhole. It was on its way to Leon Lett.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) Good Lord.. I'm still shaking my head over this one. This thread should be locked, and thrown far, far away. That people like this exist.. people that think that it's better to teach lying and cheating, is beyond disgusting. A child needs help.. and this thing ignores it. A child folks... an innocent child who has pulled the ultimate short straw in the daddy lottery. So sad.. so very sad. :headshake I blame the mom more. It seems all she cares about is what other people think. Juggs just needs to realize this and go out there and instead of caring what her wife things, do whats best for the daugheter...ie getting the kid into the special educational classes. If you know she needs help and you deprive of it, imo, its no worse than child abuse cause you got a shot at ruining the rest of her life. Hell for all I know thats already been accomplished, but a late start is better than nothing Juggs. I really hope you realize that. I realize I've been a dick in this thread, but its got to be said cause imo, what your doing is awful for your daughter. She may appreciate it in the short run, but its going to cripple her for the rest of her life.
  7. Juggs if she needs help...get it for her. Its not worth your wife's satisfaction for your daughter to go one minute longer without getting the special education she needs. The longer you deprive her of that the longer you risk the chance of her becoming totally screwed up. The helps there for a reason and you all should utilize it. Your wife be damned, if she needs it, get it for her. No ifs and are butts. A situation like this isn't a time to spare peoples feelings, especially your wifes. I'd tell her to go piss off if she was gonna b****. No offense, but if she cares more about what other people think about her child than what she could do for her child, well than she's a pathetic mom to begin with and a pretty useless part of society. I understand having problems with raising children and I don't know anything about it, but your own pride/ego shouldn't get in the way of good parenting. She obviously cares more about herself than the kid and that shouldn't be the case. Talk with your daughter and tell her how you feel. No other way to accomplish it than putting it out on the table. I tell you one thing...its stuff like this that makes me appreciate my dad and mom and all they've done for me.

  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) But you're not an engineer It must be rough being to smart for the rest of the world. I guess he could engineer a robot to talk to.
  10. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) I've done the same the last two years. And to think I always thought it was because you were embarassed to be seen with me.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Just don't let Gage teach her grammar. You all laugh, but I own in school and writing.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Maybe she needs an IEP. Speaking as a former board member, this whole thing, if true, makes me throw up a little bit. I can't imagine a high school where a homework load totally prevents a social life. If she's in a private school, then evidently that wasn't the right choice. Seriously and if it did I wouldn't do the homework. Than again thats basically how high school went for me. I knew I could get A's on my tests so I skated by without doing homework (I'd halfass my projects but shockingly I'm a really good writer and can bs like no other). Ya, you'd all be surprised at the fact that I pretty much always get A+'s on papers (I don't edit or even look things over here). I'm ready for some slams at Fullerton Honestly its a matter of if you think your kid is smart, cause i don't think there are that many people that do all their homework in high school. The ones that don't, as long as they know what they want to do and realize whats necessary to do that will be fine. Since high school, where I had a low B average (3.3 or something) I've jumped up to a 3.77 or so in college with one semester to go. It was just a matter of me being lazy cause I thought high school's only part was to have fun with friends and of course prepare you for college. I did enough for that to happen and than turned it up a notch in college (Cause that helps ya for the rest of your life).
  13. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) I see an easy solution. 1. Tell your wife to have a steaming cup of STFU. She should be happily smiling at family outings etc. that her husband can do grade school homework well. For her to lie that her daughter is actually earning those grades makes her an immoral 2. Tell your daughter that it is too damn bad that her social life is suffering because she can't/won't do her schoolwork. Boo f***ing hoo. Cry me a goddamn river. Look into other options like a tutoring program at the school or outside of school or put her in special ed programs and get her an IEP. I'd call you a retarded parent but I don't want to offend the mentally challenged. She can always be the cool kid on the short bus. Seriously Juggs. Help your kid out with the homework and knock it through her brain or see if she has some sort of learning disability. You doing everything for her is gonna get nothing accomplished and actually make things worse in the long run. If she does in fact have a learning disability, than if you have the funds or the school offers the program you are better off getting her in there now and starting to deal with it than letting her ride through high school and than find her way into the real world. Once she's there she's screwed, unless your a multi multi millionaire who has no problem paying her way through life. Sometimes as a parent you have to be mean. In the long run its better off for the kid. My assumption is that this has been a long standing issue.
  14. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Hey, I do my son's homework too. Its hard coloring in those lines, but dammit I don't want him to miss recess and blame his teddy bear. I've made some of my precious time available for him between riding my high horse into town and standing on my pedestal. Then he goes over the colors I choose(which are correct) with his mom. Then they rub my feet, place flowers at my golden idol and praise me as I sleep. I know how you feel Juggs. POST.OF.THE.YEAR I was in tears.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) You've still got it Gage. Green Jacket, Blue Jacket...who gives a s***
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) I wasnt a fan of both but Schoop > Shea....... I havent decided on Turner yet going to give him another season b4 i make judgement.... Turner seems a little more agressive. Basically a more experienced Shoop, imo. I think Shoop with the right guy (ie Gruden) would have been great. He's got that experience now and he's got a bright mind. I know a few people around football and when I would bash them, they'd bring up how he's really respected around the league as an up and coming mind.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) I thought when it came down to it, Shoop and Shea had the same offense. And Shoop wanted Delhomme, not Plummer. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...bears-headlines Thats right. My fault. I remembered the guy ended up doing real well. But Shea's offense was completely different or at least was supposed to be.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:01 AM) Milledge for Contreras doesn't help the White Sox in 2006, plus remember KW saying he wants pitching back if he deals Contreras. Ya, I'll pass on this.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Remember all the pictures from last year......? *....crickets chirping...* Exactly. Soxfest is like Vegas... what happens there, stays there. Especially anything involving some sort of hat.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Any takers on the over/under before security tosses yer asses this year...? I'm going with 12 minutes I should have brought my stubble from when I shaved my beard and we could have glued it onto Keith and Steve's faces. With that disguise, I give em 30 minutes
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) Losers It needs to be repeated....Losers
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:53 AM) All right. T-minus one day and counting.... Its now time for final roll call just for ease of finding names. I'll be there Friday. If anyone wants to say hey, I'll have on the old school Ventura 23 jersey from the early 90's sans the name on the back. I am also going to go with the 1926 style hat (blue with two white socks cross) which is pretty nasty looking. Look forward to seeing everyone! I'm thinking my Buehlre or a World series sweatshirt. Maybe I'll bust out my Bmac. I'm gonna have him sign it while I'm there.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:17 AM) No worries Alex... here's my confirmation received 9/23/05. · Double Play/Two-night package -Includes 4 SoxFest weekend passes & 4 tickets to a 2006 White Sox game And the human at the hotel confirmed. And if they give crap, I'm just gonna stand behind you and after you get things taken care of, I'm just gonna go, what she said .
  24. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) He has stepped it up a notch this year. I've seen like 6 or 7 Timberwolves games, and I have been thoroughly impressed with what I've seen. He wasn't this good last year. I suppose that I can't really make an argument for him on paper. He got his head on straight. Always was a heck of a talent.
  25. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) Kevin Garnett is a monster defender/rebounder, and he weighs only 220 pounds. Jermaine O'Neal is also an amazing defender/rebounder, and he weighs 242 pounds. Those guys are both Top 10 defenders in this league out of the PF slot and they ain't working with much in the biceps department. They're just slim giants with superior quickness, length, and aggressiveness. You're muscles don't have to be bulging in order for you to contain PFs and alter a ton of shots when you're that tall and that quick. Heck look at Chris Bosh, he looks incredibly small but he's widely thought of as one of the best young 4's in the game.
