  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) It was a great performance overall. I just don't believe in distorting a game that's already over to pad your point total. I remember many times in where Jordan could've went out there in the 4th quarter in games that were already decided simply to pad his point total. I just don't get the Raptors mentality. I would've clobbered Kobe if he was out there trying to show me up like that. The game has really changed over the years. 62 points through 3 quarters earlier this year and he wasn't in. This game wasn't the blowout you all thought it was. Lets not forget the Raptors were up big in the 3rd quarter at one point. Kobe singlehandedly brought this team back in it.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Not to sound like a hater, but Phil, Kobe, his teammates and the entire Raptor team should be ashamed of themselves. First of all, the game was over with like 7 minutes to go. Why is he still in the game? What if he gets hurt? Second, each one of Kobe's teammates refused to shoot the ball so Kobe could pad his point total. Third, the Raptors offered no resistence whatsover. You've got a guy out there showin you up when the game is long but over. They rarely bothered to double. Man, atleast make the guy feel it when he goes to the basket. It's like they wanted Kobe to run up his point total. If anybody tried to pull that s*** 15-20 years ago, they would've left the game on a stretcher. Dude they were freaking triple teaming him in the 4th quarter. The rest of his team is inept. Kobe scored like 27 points in the 3rd quarter and I think the rest of his team had like 4 or 6. They are f***ing terrible. As far as him staying in, the game wasn't a blowout with 7 minutes left. They started blowing them out but it wasn't a done deal. Once they were up why not let him go for the record. You don't think that stuff happened in Wilt's magic game. Come on.
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Kobe has 81. P.S. He's the best player in the NBA. That was just a sick game. They were down by like 18 or so at one point in the 3rd quarter and ended up winning by 18 or so. The guy was ridiculous. I agree he's the best scorer in the NBA. Don't know if he's the best player but he's one of the top 3 guys. Only thing I don't like is that he doesn't make the other guys better. Tonight he told the rest of the team to f*** off (they were playing worthless) and he just went on a tear. I give him credit though, he's totally carrying this squad. Without him one of the 3 worse teams in the NBA. With him, they will probably get one of the last 2 spots in the west.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) I'm pretty sure he was at the 4. But I can't say positively because I didn't watch much of the game. Ya, he was at the 4.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Leadoff by pushing the analog stick to the left. Its the same as in last years.
  6. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) it's like the old high heat games. Basically, you point the analog stick to where the ball is going to end up. IE: a high fastball, hold up on the analog and swing, low and away breaking ball, point the analog toward it and swing. It's different from classic because in classic, you can basically hit anything out by holding up and swinging. And in zone hitting, you can use the power/contact mode hitting. I like it alot. I don't get it. In classic on the higher levels I never was able to just hold up and hit homers. Most of the time pitchers throw the ball down anyway. But than again I'm feeble on offense.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) i'm having a blast on varsity w/ zone hitting. Averaging from 3-6 runs. But i agree with you on the baserunnign stuff, you have to really pay attention and correct them right away. What the hell is zone hitting? Classic hitting is the same as last years system (correct?). Or am I retarded and using the directional joystick for no reason?
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) No.f***ing.s***. I just went a 13 inning game with Nebraska only to lose 1-0. I cant hit worth a f***ing lick right now. I owned MVP last year on the 2nd hardest level(this years All American) but right now I cant do ANYTHING. I am having a hell of a time hitting on Varsity. Than again I don't have one hitter above 70 in either power or contact, but thats why my team is a D-. I had an 18 inning game that I won on a walkoff homer 1-0. I have started winning, but its solely because I can pitch (which is basically how the first month or so of me playing MVP seemed to be). I'm doing classic hitting though, none of that joystick for me.
  9. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 08:14 AM) Cadillac got more pub on that one run where he broke like 8 tackels on one play in week 1/2 than Ronnie got the whole season Caddy isn't as great as some of you think he is. He breaks some big runs, but he's a pretty crappy runner in terms of consistently getting yards. It seems like its big gain or nothing with him.
  10. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) I might go a little off topic here but: I dont agree, I think nowadays you want the type of player that breaks runs in midfield that can help a team get to the endzone, for example shaun alexander and larry johnson, and when they get down there they use players like Duckett and Bettis to bust it in or the qb sneaks it in or passes it. Tough to say this can go any direction personally Id rather have a player with speed who can break some big runs, kind of like warrick dunn, or cadillac, nowadays the trend is to have a good backup who can just go in for the one play and score, every player wants to score so its not like you can judge ones heart more than the others. Benson being beat up in college doesnt mean anything, who backed up larry johnson, no one, and now hes one of the best backs in the league, if I were the star player on the team Id want to be in every play, yes theres gonna be hits and injuries but Im sure the nfl scouts would like to see which players can rebound off of injuries and make some comebacks. And what did Larry Johnson do his first couple seasons? NOTHING. I can't believe how everyone seems to have written Benson off after just one season. Thomas Jones played great and we were winning. He got into camp late (blame him or blame mgmt, I don't care) and he's gonna have a full off-season and training camp (barring injury) to really adjust to the NFL. He will be a star in this league and the type of workhorse running back that I love.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Me thinks Tyson should start more.... That was a really fun game to watch. The Bulls played consistent and strong. Chandler was the Chandler I came to expect last year and Othella did a good job. Othella can d up on centers and try to do what AD and Curry did for Chandler last year. I think Skiles should stick with that lineup. Noc is playing awesome though, tough to have him on the bench but he still gets tons of minutes.
  12. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) How about this? That is freaking beautiful. Definately gonna impliment that. Thanks so much. Really appreciate it.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) The Lakers were actually doing all right last year too..until Kobe got hurt in January and missed a couple weeks. By the time he was back, Rudy T was gone, and the team was in shambles and had basically quit. With that $10 million a year deal Brown signed...I doubt he cares if you think he's an idiot. Get enough popularity with that opinion...and he'll buy you off. Actually (well at the beginning of the week), the Lakers record this year was worse than their record last year (at this stage of the season) by something like 2 or 3 games. Rudy T was doing a great job but without Kobe they are probably one of the 3 worse teams in the NBA.
  14. Thats not Orton. His beard isn't close to being that thick.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) MSU just ran you guys ragged basically. They shot the ball insanely but man...every loose ball seemed to turn into 2 transition points. In the 2nd half when we were already down by 20...yes. They don't have the firepower to come back from that far down and had the reserves in once they went down big. MSU is (talent wise) the best team in the conference and one of the 5 or 6 best teams in the country, imo. Defensively Iowa played strong in the 1st half but in the 2nd half they got sloppy on transition D. Stinks too cause Iowa is one of the better defending teams in the country. It killed us when Hansen went down with foul trouble early on. When he's in foul trouble Iowa is in deep trouble, especially against a team with a guy like Davis. But they were shooting 75% like midway through the 2nd half (in 2nd half shots). It was ridiculous.
  16. QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) Unfortunatley, I think this win against Duke, and Wisky's huge upset loss today, pretty much assures that the Big East is the best confercence in the country, if there wasn't any doubt already. Pittsnogle and company are next to try to make a statement for the Big East. Isn't Pitt in the Big East and they went down today. So its not as if only the Big 10 and ACC suffered a blow. Big 10 was the top rated conference via RPI (IIRC).
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) 2 mins into the 2nd half and MSU ups their lead to 17. Jesus...MSU wouldn't miss a shot in the 2nd half. By far the best team I've seen Iowa play all year (that includes Texas and Illinois). That said they shot completely insane and once they blew up to start the half Iowa was done so MSU was able to get some easy transition points when Iowa started jacking up 3's and long rebounds ensued.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) loved the first one. Loved this one more. Great movie. Very entertaining. Probably one of the best adaptations of Romeo & Juliet in the last 10 years. It is pretty much the Capulets and Montagues as Vampires and Werewolves. The thing is though you have to see the first movie in order to like this one. It is very complicated and there are a lot of brief flashbacks. Action scenes are great. What the heck are you talking about. Its not anything like Romeo and Juliet. That was a love story. Sure the two main characters are kind of in love but you don't have them trying to kill them because they are in love. AWFUL COMPARISON. On a sidenote it was a very badass movie if you take it for what it is (a sweet ass action movie with vampires and warewolves).
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) VIP Garland session pass received today. Woot Woot. Niiiiceee
  20. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) I realize Aaron was on the list, but I still think that's the guy. Salvador Sanchez is who we are talking about. Fathom, can you PM me with the name. I'm curious.
  21. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) me and brian will both be there. Perfecto; So I take it the two of you made up
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) let the shenanigans continue, one year later Are you gonna be able to make it now?
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Oh... If I get one more PM about Soxfest tickets you're gonna get something when you walk in... Lol...I just told everyones favorite Soccer Mom
