  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) How the f*** is Colorado still ranked? They lost to Iowa freaking State! Forgot to tell ya, but that was a nice win for you guys. Maybe they found their mojo.
  2. He's a taller, better passing version of Ben Gordon. He also gets lit up like a light bulb defensively...just like Ben.
  3. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:18 AM) What the hell, did I miss "bash your team" weekend or something? At least none of you have it as bad as us NU people. This is going to sound weird since I've been bashing them all year, but I'm starting to warm up to the Illini a bit more. I used to whole-heartedly agree with Chisoxfn, but their defense has been better than I expected in Big Ten play, and McBride and Randle are starting to become bigger offensive threats. They definitely rely way too much on the 3, but they've started playing a bit better even if Dee shoots like crap. That said, they still have some tough teams left to go. They've still got a shot to win the conference, but they're going to have to win a tough one to compensate for that Penn State loss. They look like a #3 seed that'll make the Sweet 16, but I wouldn't count on them beating someone good. If they get a tough #6 seed they could go down though. Indiana and Wisconsin also really seem to be slipping right now. I expected a drop-off from Wisconsin, but I didn't expect a loss to Purdue. Neither of them are in sync now, and that is really dangerous in the Big Ten. I think Indiana can still come up with a tough win somewhere with a good shooting night, but Wisconsin has been brutal. That unexpected Illinois loss really seemed to open up the conference a lot. Now that Iowa has a one game lead on everyone their chances got a lot better, although they have to shoot more like they did the last few games than they did early. As I said last time, Illinois, MSU, and Michigan are right in the thick of it, and one of those teams will probably win the conference. I don't want to rule out OSU though because they have a balanced team that is fairly deep. They have a lot of tough games left though, and their best win to this point by far is Wisconsin at home. I honestly think Illinois defense is why they will be right in the thick of things at the end of big 10 play. Its also the same reason Iowa should be right in the thick of a conference title. Both teams have defenses that can help them when they have down shooting nights, but Iowa has a few more scorers than Illinois. Although Randle has been stepping up his game as of late. I just don't think either team has the firepower to get past the Sweet 16. I should also add I'll go nuts if Iowa makes it to the sweet 16. I just expect baby steps from Iowa and I'm always waiting for them to fail me
  4. It gets a total F. Thanks zebra's
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) have none of you heard of imdb? jeesh http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0646351/ That was the ooze show right? I vaguely remember that. I guess she's going to be on some new tv show called Pepper Dennis (whatever that is).
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) Last movie I saw the girl from Alex Mack in was that movie where she couldn't date and her sister was Julia Stiles. I don't remember the name of it though because it was a chick flick and I only saw it because I liked a girl that wanted to see it. Haha, I think that was in like 2002. But yeah, between the girl from Alex Mack and Dina from "Salute your Shorts" in that bikini in the one episode, I first discovered the greatness of the female gender. That movie was a parody of a shakespeare novel. I got to watch it in a class during high school and it was far better than the normal english curriculum. She was in 100 or 1000 girls (forget what it was called) and was still looking quite hot.
  7. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) You Can't Do That on Television - was a ritual for me, i'm 28 though but watched it daily. Double Dare - Obstacle Course, need I say more? Lancelot Linc, Secret Chimp - Creators of this HAD to be on acid, but it was damn funny. Mr. Wizard - Used to watch it every morning at 6:30 AM!! Nick Arcade - Looking back now, man that show was cheesy Figure It Out - Summer Sanders was HOT!! I still watch Nickelodeon Games and Sports channel now, at age 28, to see old episodes of "Finders, Keepers", "Double Dare", Legends of the Hidden Temple, etc. I totally forgot about Nick Arcade. I remember a few of my buddies and I always wished we would be on the show cause we though we'd own at it. Oddly enough this thread led to a discussion at my buddies super bowl party where we talked about old school shows and Mr. Wizard came up. He was the before and more lame version of Bill Nye (or however you spell it).

thanks for the more detailed info kalapse. I thought it said movies but I wasn't sure if it was movies or episodes.
  9. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 08:20 AM) re-check 'em out here... which are you favs? mine where the streaking lamb, the grizzly one & for some reason the hummer 'little monster' one made me lmao... I liked the Fed Ex caveman one. Aside from that I thought the commercials were just as lame as the Super Bowl. By far the worse all around super bowl (commercials and game) that I've ever seen. The game sucked because of the pathetic officiating and the commercials were pathetic.
  10. Thus far mines been awesome. I've had it right around a year and I use it when I'm on campus, when I'm riding my snowboard and when I run. Its gotten banged up and thus far has kept on ticking.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) They showed the replay of that holding call. There was nothing that struck my eyes as holding either. Nothing even close. The Steelers line had a bunch of plays that would have been called holding if that standard was their holding standard. Don't care what Madden says except in that it agrees with what my eyes saw. Extending your arm does not equal a pushoff. You can extend your arm without pushing off. If there was a push...it was incredibly minor. That was the call of the game. Cause the Seahawks should have been on the two. Obviously Hassel still goes and throws the pick and another horrid call shows up, but that was such a phantom holding. You'll see a lot of holdings that don't get called, but the one that was called was horrid. The lineman was beat and pretty much fell flat, never held the guy AT ALL. HORRID. This was honestly about as bad as a superbowl as I've ever seen. Its too bad too, cause it would have been good had the refs made the right calls.
  12. Well my pick was wrong, but all I'm going to say is what a BS way for Pitt to win. I feel bad cause they may have been the better team, but honestly, neither team outplayed one another, Pitt just got every freaking call and they were horrid calls too. I'm not even complaining about the TD cause honestly you knew whichever way it was originally called it wouldn't have been over-turned but you had that phantom holding call, a tick tack offensive PI, and than Hasselbach on this so called illegal chop block (what the hell was that call). Just 3 (2 total blatant ones caues I could see someone callling the offensive PI, although I wouldn't have).
  13. I should ad, not only did I pick the Seahawks to win...its pretty much a lock in my book.
  14. I'll be rooting for the Steelers, mainly because I am a huge fan of Big Ben. But I'm picking the Seahawks to win 24-20.

And I know I'm not the only fan of the show on here, but for those that aren't aware of it, Cartoon Network reached some sort of agreement with Groening and company and the show went back into production for a few episodes (IIRC, it wasn't a large number of new episodes, but new episodes are still new episodes). My guess is if the new episodes do well they will order up a full season. Or so I hope. So you assbags better all watch these new episodes cause I demand more new Futurama's
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) Wasn't the Super Bowl almost always on CBS??? It has been rotating for as long as I remember??? Did it used to be on CBS in the olden days or something?
  17. Hey Dude Salute Your Shorts Doug Rocko's Modern Life Double Dare Alex Mack - she was sooo hot Wild N Crazy Kids
  18. Kansas wins by 1 coming from 16 down in the 2nd half. Huge win for the Jayhawks. It looked like the route was and the Jayhawks won what could be the decisive game come selection Sunday (a win against OU will be real nice for there resume).
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) Back and forth lead changes, OU with the ball down 1 with 19 secs left. Now 1.9 left and OU ball down by 1.
  20. I liked it when it was all together, but thats just me. Sure we get a lot of Bulls talk here, but we also get mostly big 10 talk in the NCAA thread. That said you also have Rowand talking up his mid major, palehose and UNC, Jimbo and Kansas.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Very. As far as parody goes, Duke is not a great team if they face the right opponent they could be gone in the sweet 16. People might think I'm crazy for this second team but the two best teams I've seen play this year are UCONN and Florida. Talent wise I put Memphis way up there too. They have some insane athletes and they make some amazing plays but the few times I've watched them they seem to at times play too fast and with that they don't play disciplined and it leads to some mistakes and easy baskets for the other team. If Callipari can get them to play a little more heady they could be very dangerous come tourney time. On a sidenote, Kansas is on a big time run and has tied the game back up. They were down by 15 or 16 at one point with about 7 or 8 to go in the half.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:14 AM) Georgetown beats Pitt by the way. They are coming on strong.
  23. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) I agree to a certain extent. For one thing, Illinois is clearly nowhere near as good as they were last year. Now that being said, there are really only 2 good teams in the country this year... Duke and UCONN. I'm not saying that I expect Illinois to go to the Final Four, but someone has to, and I fully expect there to be 1 Big 10 team there (Iowa, MSU... I'm not sure which one). I also think this is going to be one of the hardest NCAA tournaments to handicap in recent memory because there is a ton of parity this year. I'm a big fan of this parody cause it gives so many more teams a shot and makes the tourney that much more interesting. Also, mark my words, Duke will not win the national championship. That will be Uconn. I actually think Duke may go down earlier than people think because I think they have more weaknesses than the typical #1 team in the country. As I type this Kansas is getting clocked by OU. It was a close game in the 1st half but the 2nd half has been all Sooners.
  24. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) I completely agree with you jas. I've been saying it for what seems like the entire season, but we are not the 6th best team in the country, period....and we never were. And yes, after completely underestimating iowa the entire year, ____ finally come around and ____ think they are better than we all think they are. They've just seemed to come out of nowhere this season. Besides that awful loss to MSU, they've been the most solid team in the big 10. I'm editing that post out. I don't want you saying anything nice about Iowa
  25. Guys, like Iowa and some of the better Big 10 teams, Illinois doesn't have the talent to consistently win games. They aren't the team from last year. I know Krush and SNB realize this just like I realize this about my Hawkeyes. Now could either of these teams (along with OSU) make a run deep into the tourney, sure, but none of them is going to win the tourney. Illinois lacks the weapons on offense because if Dee Brown is slowed down they don't stand much of a chance. Its hard to win when you have that going against you. They have managed to do a good job over the course of the season defensiely, which will help them win a lot of games and make the tourney and finish up as one of the best teams in the big 10 (and they still have a total shot at the Big 10 title, they are 1 game behind Iowa and still get to play em in Champaign). Plus Iowa plays down to their competition and could easily get upset by a team like NU. We also still have a home game against MSU, which is not going to be easy. The Spartans match up well against us and Paul Davis seems to be the one guy Hansen has trouble stopping (ie, Hansen who I think is the best defensive big man in the big 10). That said notice I don't include MSU in that mix. MSU hasn't shown up consistently and I think its because they have lacked some defensive intensity at times because in the long run playing consistent defense will allow you to win a lot of games (to be great you'll need offense as well, but if your team can defend you'll find ways to win often). But MSU (in big games) tends to step up that level of intensity plus Izzo is a master at getting his team going down the stretch. They are the lone team in the big 10 that could make noise and make the final 4, imo. I don't see them doing it, but its a definate possibility. But back to my point, too many Illini fans are over-rating the team based on last year. You guys are probably one of the more over-rated teams in the country right now. Its not a knock cause you all have continued to win, but you aren't the 6th or 7th best team in the country (I give Weber and your guys credit for battling and getting there though). Just like GW isn't the 10th best team in the country. You can't get that distinction when you don't play ANYBODY. Plus cause I'm bias I will continue my note that Iowa (as of today) is the most under-rated team in the country. They still have a lot to prove though.
