  1. Here's what I don't get. If Paxson already announced this as a done deal. How come the names haven't come out yet. Have the Bulls been given some sort of list, so that Skiles can talk with Paxson to see just which players he'd want (I'm guessing Scott would have some input and that this deal may of just totally came on like wildfire when something happened between the Bulls camp and Curry's camp). Otherwise I'd think when you announced that he was dealt, you would also announce the new parts and at least sound semi enthused about the new pieces your getting. But maybe this is just one of those situations where the best way to win would of been, Curry passing the DNA test, signing a fat extension and instead the Bulls had to deal him and take on players of lesser talent (although decent).
  2. Not a problem. Gonna merge this into that thread now that you've seen it
  3. I saw someone mention that there is some speculation this deal is larger than just Eddy Curry (and I'm not talking someone like Pargo/Pike, but a better player or so they hinted). This was being mentioned by an admin over at a Bulls board I frequent once in a great while (ie during trade deadline and if there is breaking news regarding the Bulls).
  4. There is a thread right above this one (pinned) talking all about it. They go on sale on Thursday
  5. Too bad there ain't squat really out there in next years free agent class. Unless of course they find a way to get Ben Wall out of Detroit.
  6. Which is why it makes sense (for those that realize the idiot that Isiah is) for him to deal his only two players left with expiring contracts for another max contract player that can't play any defense. I could be wrong though but I sure hope Paxson didn't take on any long term deals in this trade.
  7. Aside from Tim Thomas/Sweetney are there any other Knicks players that would look decent over here?
  8. I think there is gonna be quite a bit of details coming out in the next 24-48 hrs on the type of guy both Curry and his agent is. I mean Curry had his flaws, but his agent is a royal class prick. The Bulls are trying there best to do whats in the best interest of Eddy's health and he has his agent whispering in one ear talking about how much crap there is. I also assume that Paxson got to the point that he didn't want this to be an issue the entire year (Curry's lingering free agency as well as potential hard feelings against the organization) and something obviously spurred him to do it now. Camp starts tomorrow and hopefully the new Bulls players will fit in well and buy into Skiles scheme. If someone could ever teach Thomas how to play some defense it could turn into a good move (if they get Timmy). Who knows what the Bulls will get.
  9. Paxson already gave the press release and he was furious with Curry's camp. You can bet something happened. Considering how upset he is, I have my doubts as to what exactly the Bulls were able to get. I just hope its a couple guys that can help this year and that have expiring contracts.
  10. You can bet it will be Tim Thomas, Sweetney and someone else. This could turn out good for Chicago, but the guys they get in return will have to step up there level of play in Chicago and fit into the system. If they are willing they should be happy to be coming here. I think losing Curry could have a really big impact on the club (especially if Curry was healthy) but with all the risks involved in his situation (and I'm a huge Curry supporter) depending on what they got this could be as good a time as any to move him.
  11. Could be me, I picked up Rackers and for some reason it didn't make him my starter (I must of been really zoned out, but I dropped the Jets kicker early last week and replaced him with Rackers thinking it would auto replace since its the same position). Aside from that I had my lineup set early in the week and looked at my team last night thinking what a great move it was picking up Rackers only to find him on my bench. Turns out I got royally hosed, lost by 2 points with him on my bench (do I need to bring up Eli is my backup to Daunte and I had Daunte starting). Luckily I had Fitzgerald and Boldin along with jimmy Smith (all 3 had very good games). But I lost by 2 points when my kicker would of put up 20 plus (6 field goals plus a couple xtra points).
  12. Hard to not make a smart ass remark about the state of Oklahoma's football team. However, I still don't understand what in the hell must be going on in a persons mind to actually kill themselves.
  13. Happy Birthday Brian. Hopefully we'll all be tailgating in a few weeks at the world series And dbaho...take note of the name I used in this post
  14. They still saw that horrible flick Flightplan. It was another one of those movies where I thought to msyelf, thank god I get to see movies for free, cause it was horrid.
  15. I may be down for that. Gonna be playing some hookie from school on the 1st two days.
  16. Who cares who we play. If your good enough to win it all your good enough to beat whoever you match up against. Sox just got to go out and play there baseball, if they do they got a shot at beating every club in the playoffs. IF they don't, they'll be packing there bags a little early. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride
  17. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Talk about an idea whose time has come. I don’t even find the same tired, discredited arguments in this thread that one usually hears – that second-hand smoke isn’t dangerous; that everyone in the city would just up and drive to the suburbs and stop patronizing their neighborhood taverns; that it’s socialism run amuck (well, maybe a couple keep trying that out); and my favorite – if you don’t like to work in a toxic environment, just go find another job, all the many thousands of you mopes trying to make a living in the hospitality industry. I’m sorry to hear Mayor Daley supporting “compromises” and making that ridiculous statement that we don’t want to antagonize any industry. He doesn’t even have to be out in front on this. New York City has already led the way with no economic disaster resulting. Yesterday I called my alderman, O’Connor, to give him my opinion and see where he stood; I called the sponsoring alderman, Smith, just to put in my “atta’boy” for all his work; and I phoned to check out a club where I’d really like to go hear some music, but they allow smoking. Maybe next year I’ll be able to go spend my money at that club. New York didn't lead the way. Its been illegal out in Cali for what seems like 7 or 8 years. Its been a long long time since I ever had to ask for something non-smoking. From hotels to restaurants to bars, hell, even strip clubs, everything is smoke free.
  18. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Has anyone noticed that Notre Dame is 4-1? Anyone notice that all four of those wins were on the road? If they can figure out how to win at home they will be dangerous. Their next five games are all at home. If they can somehow take down USC (I think thats who they play next) all I can say is wowzer. They could honestly be 5-0 if it weren't for two stupid turnovers in the MSU game (the one where they fumbled on the goaline on a 1st and goal from the 1... I still think it was touchdown before a fumble) and than Quinn's pick that was taken back for a TD at the start of the 2nd half.
  19. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not gonna trash talk that Cleveland squad. They fought there asses off and even if they don't get in, they are gonna be a potential thorn in the Sox side for the next couple years. They are a really good team. Of course that could change if Millwood, Wickman and Company get away this offseason.
  20. Iowa pulled away in the 2nd half though. Interesting game going on up in Michigan. Michigan just took a touchdown lead in the 4th quarter after MSU had battled back.
  21. I think there was some work being done to the database today. In case anyones curious about the lag of the board earlier today. Were trying to get everything set for the playoffs.
  22. I hope Gload gets hot. If he does he may create a roster spot for himself. I still have a lot of doubts though. Blum is just really versatile, although I really don't think he plays any position all that well. And he's a horrible hitter.
