I should add, I only expect those stats to continue to grow. This board gets bigger and better everyday. Its had a few downturns, but its kind of like the stock market, it comes out of everydown turn a little bit better and it will continue to get better thanks to all the awesome people that frequent this site. Every single person I've met via this site at a Sox game is pretty cool. That will change if we ever meet Heads, but hey, someone was gonna have to ruin that streak Props go to all the members here for being great, welcoming posters and for telling their friends about this place. We've never went around and marketed this place and its always been built on word of mouth. As Hawk would say....SOXTALK YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Go Falcons Go I need them to beat my dad in our weekly picks contest. -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) Random facts about Soxtalk It ranks 934 out of all internet message boards when going about total amount of posts. It ranks 1278 when judging by total members. 147th when judging by people visiting per day. 63rd when going by post/member ratio 100th when going by average users online. Meaningless facts of the day. Wow some impressive stuff. Thats all in 3 years time or so. By the way, I forgot to make a 3 year birthday post for Soxtalk about a month ago, lol. Well I think its been 3 years now. Out of curiosity how did you find that out?

Switchfoot's new album comes out tomorrow. I know PA has to be pumped about that. I liked there last album (I have no idea if it was there first or not) and heard a couple of their songs from the new album on the radio over the weekend and they sounded pretty good.

Idea about how to bring Frank Back Next year
Chisoxfn replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What does it matter, he isn't a free agent at the end of the year. The Giants picked up his option for next year. However, next year will be his final season with the Giants. Two years from now he will be a DH somewhere in the AL. -
Whose return do you care less about?
Chisoxfn replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'd still take TO on the Bears. In fact I don't dislike TO as much as most people. I'm interested in Bonds comeback though. Just because he is the best offensive player to ever play the game. I'm also interested to see if he'll be able to produce at a similar clip next season (and get back to his old level this season...highly unlikely considering how little game experience he'll get) now that there is testing. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) I love Frank, and everything he's done for the Sox. However, it's likely in the best interest of the Sox to give him his 3.5 million, give him his statue, and say adios. I think Anaheim may give him a pretty good incentive laden deal. They'll gladly play him if he's healthy and is so desperate for a DH. They may go after Paulie, but Paulie is staying on the South Side (or so I hope). -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) I'm gonna have to HIGHLY DISAGREE with this statement....I'm sorry but you are sooo wrong. Well I think I am the one person that classifies as immune from suspensions and even I've been suspended (of course I suspended myself a few times and than there was that nasty coup in which Heads or 2k banned me).

The Bears have found their future QB
Chisoxfn replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) I agree. Moose was the target all game. The pass in the 4th quarter would have easily added 20 yards and the pass he "dropped" aka fumbled up the middle would have been close to 30. I do like his ability to get extra yardage and yards after the catch though. IMO, the Bears can only go up and get better. I really can't call that a drop. On a sidenote, that was a catch and a fumble and it should of been called that. The game never said who recovered the fumble either. His only other drop was on a 15 yard catch on the sideline and it was on that 3rd and long play. Definately catchable. Still he made some nice catches too and has great hands. He's gonna be a major asset and will have over 1000 yards as long as he stays healthy. -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) I feel I have the right to attack, but no one is allowed to attack my Kristin Kreuk. Wasn't it Addison St or Kalapse who said she looks like a rat? For shame. ROFL, but your lucky, you got a board owner who happens to agree with your taste on Kristin Kreuk On 2nd though, I'm gonna go ban both of em, just cause i'm too lazy to look up which one of em said it

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) I believe Crede is arbitration eligible... You are correct. I think he becomes a free agent the following year, basically he's in the same situation as Garland. Except Garland is due for a pay-raise where Crede will maybe see it go up, but it won't be any big jump.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Oh yeah, I'm the first person to go off on a tangent on this board. Oh, I'm not posting blame. I just don't want anyone to attack the poster because he has rap images. Please, I've led many convo's off topic myself.

Were all diehard fans. If you want to argue about attendance, please do so in a more polite way. Everyone one on this forum does what they can to make games. We are not the reason why the Sox didn't draw well over the weekend. With that I'm leaning towards closing this thread because I don't think any good will come of it.

I'm not in the Chicago area so I can't really help out. WIth cell coverage it all depends on where you live. As a whole I think Verizon is by far the best. I've had Verizon, T Mobile, Cingular and ATT all at one time or another. Verizon was the best of the bunch. It is a little more than Tmobile and Cingular though.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) Why is Thomas not an upgrade? When he played for just a little bit this year, it was a huge lift for the team offensively. He hit about the lowest average wise you possibly can, yet still put up an OPS that would either be leading the team or would be second on the team to PK. If he puts up a .240 season, that could be a .950 OPS campaign. He'd be a little rusty, for sure, due to barely having played the past 2 years...but if he is truly, 100% healthy, he is still one of the best power hitters in the league, and will still slug the hell out of the ball. You bring him back to a fairly incentive laden deal(perhaps a Juan Gonzalez deal, where if he only has one at bat for you, you aren't screwed) and there is very little risk at all, and all the reward in the world. JMHO, but I think it would be worth it...just because he can only DH does not mean he's not a valuable player. Because I'm not putting the fortunes of a playoff or world series team on a player whose last healthy season was a FEW years ago, not last year, but a few years ago. That would be an assinine assumption, especially when the player is up in age. Also I don't give a crap about his OPS and how impressive it was or his OBP. Thomas was not a good player this year. He hit hr's in groves, but he couldn't hit for a lick and started to really tank after his hot streak right when he came back. He was guessing on pitches and pitchers made the adjustments and realized he was cheating and looking for inside fastballs. If he didn't get one of them or a hanging breaking ball, he was out and thats why his average just continued to drop after he was re-activated. As long as Frank is looking for 500 HR's and is content on not being the type of hitter he was in the prime of his career, than I don't want him on the Sox, in fact, I'll be one person whose quite pleased when the Sox buyout his contract.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) B Mac in the playoff rotation? No way. All this time, I thought people just wanted B Mac to get all of Duque's remaining starts before the playoffs. Duque and B Mac will be in the pen for the playoffs. Well Willie or Gload is going to be on the post-season roster cause the Sox won't be carrying 12 pitchers. That means one of Bmac/Duque won't make the playoff roster.

Just because I'm an ass, I'll just say my feelings are the exact opposite. I think San Fran is a rile and disgusting city and do my best to stay clear of it. It felt dirty as all get up and has very little to do. Of course Detroit is worse.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I understand the frustration with Duque, but let's give some credit to Ana. That is a solid ball club who handed it to Mark B. and Garland as well. Sorry, I'm an Angel fan and I think they are built similarly to the Sox, but it is far from a solid lineup. The Angels have had a putrid offense for a while now. Sure, maybe its coming together, but fact of the matter, Duque gave up HR's to guys that don't hit HR's and he has been getting shallacked left and right.

I realize some will whine. But I'm closing this thread. I'm superstitious when it comes to my sports team and I don't think these type of things do any good. So if you want to have a magic number up or something like that, please just put it in the sig. Unless of course the Sox sweep Cleveland and have like 2 or 1 games left. I don't want bad karma hurting the Sox Now its to go into KC and sweep em with the 1st win coming on Tuesday
