  1. See if it is Konerko and Garland for Randy Johnson I make this deal. I fully believe in Ross Gload and think he's more then capable. However, I am still hoping somehow KW checks out this board, calls the Angels up and the Guillen/Erstad for Konerko deal goes down. That deal still leaves the Sox open to deal Lee in a package for the Unit, while still keeping some caliber bats. Their are so many ways the Sox can go this off-season, all end up with a similar result, the question is which pieces are going to be here. We'll find out soon enough.
  2. Here's what i did. I wetn to the map and went over the disk and hit circle. It creates a target thats always their and super easy to see so I can always get back to the save point.

    OUCH!!!

Steff, if you had experience with something like this, then I'd be running far far away if I saw you at SoxFest
  4. Oh ya, I had trouble with that one soley because I kept damaging the car. On the map you'll see something in green, go to it and its the repair shop.

    State Laws

I don't think its the case in California or at least I haven't heard of it.
  6. Oh no, I agree with his actual voting record (and the leftness of it). I don't agree with a lot of his issues, but at the same time I can honestly say he's so much better then John Kerry...which is all I'm saying. The only democratic I would of even considered voting for in this election was Lieberman and well he didn't get much support. I just don't agree with the policies and ideology of the democratic party. However, at least so far it seems as if Obama is sincere and actually sticks to his message. Kerry is saying so many things that completely contradict with his entire record and people are buying it. It absolutely kills me to watch Kerry's speaches. So many people complain so much about Bush, but I stick to my opinions, he's a pretty straight shooter, especially for a politician. Wasn't Ditka going to be the persona they were going to put on the ballot instead of Keyes, but he decided to hold out. I got a feeling next time around Ditka will be running for some sort of elected position in Illinois.
  7. Just tell me when you guys head the democratic ticket cause I'll make sure to be on the republican ticket
  8. Their were numerous reasons for Kelly not pitching this year, all of them health related. First off he did suffer from the dead arm and battled through a lot of other arm related injuries as well. Even when he was pitching last year he was unable to pitch more then 2 times a week and wasn't very effective when he was in. I do wish Kelly nothing but the best. He is a class act. Also, their wasn't really much of a fall out.
  9. I heard a sports columnist from Boston talking about Derek Lowe and said that after his post-season he's expecting to command potentially 10 million plus a year. Personally I dont think a postseason makes you worth that considering his regular season numbers were horrid. Thats just me, but he does have good stuff and if he happened to be out their cheaper it could be an option.
  10. I think this would be a very good option. Of course I think you can insert any of the solid FA candidates in here as well as Percival as a bullpen option. But ya, I'd be down with something along these lines and pretty much making no major trades. The question is how the Sox want to go about things.
  11. From what I know it started with the knee injuries and they have somehow led to a lingering effect on his hamstring or something along those lines. He was pretty healthy this year, minus a hammy pull (off the top of my head I think that was his injury this year) and it seems like 1st base is a good fit for him. He is happy their and as the season progressed he was looking amazing there. At the plate he got back in his groove and he's a great base runner and once again I can't mention enough about the type of leader he is. He's also the type of hard nose player fans in Chicago would like. He's like a left handed Rowand in the hustle department.
  12. I'm not sure, but if they add Beltran or add another starting pitcher then you'd think they would have to move Erstad. Of course at the same time this is kind of an out their idea simply because they will be taking on a contract in Konerko, but at the same time its a year shorter then Erstads and they have long indicated that they want to go with a power hitter corner first baseman and I think thats now emphasized with McPherson at 3b. Plus Kennedy is going to be out for a while which means Eckstein/Figgins will be up the middle and at the top of the lineup. As far as Guillen goes, I saw that the Pirates may be the likely destination and they didn't seem to be rumored to give up too much. I think the question is, would they do Konerko for Erstad straight up. I think that answer is obviously yes and that they would probably pay a little extra for us to take Erstads deal (probably not 4 mill a year, but maybe 4 mill over 2 years). Then when you figure in Guillen who is not going to be back in Anaheim (and if Pitt is only offering prospects, and not top prospects) then it makes you wonder. In this case they also get a lefty reliever in Munoz and its no secret that the Angels could use some help out of the pen. I floated the idea to my dad and he seemed to think it would make sense from the Angels side. The big question is how would the fans react, cause Ertsad is a fan favorite. But Sox get (assume Angels pick up 4 mill) 16 million over 2 years (12 for Erstad and 4 for Guillen). The Angels take on 13 million (I think thats what Konerko gets after his trade kicker) over one or two years (depending on if you count the 4 mill they pay of Erstads deal). So when you look at next years roster they upgrade at 1b and its a wash in LF since they aren't using Guillen their anyway, especially if they go after Beltran.
  13. To be honest, I think thats an excellent comparison. Of course I think Uribe has Tejada like potential and I really think over the course of the next couple seasons he will prove me right.
  14. Ya, I also found it nice that the Red Sox didn't want Schilling out on the campaign trail with Bush or the doctors didn't. Yet from what i heard on the radio they said ownership heavily told him not too. Yet they were out their today. Leave it to Kerry to spin something like that. And yes, if Bush said something like if it were up to Kerry the Rangers wouldn't of won the series (assuming the rangers won the series this year...obviously hypothetical) I would of said he was a freaking tard. Just like Karen Hughes and Carl Rove's costume choice today was retarded.
  15. Its rather typical. California will go Democratic, but thats because of LA and San Francisco being highly democratic. The rest of the counties are mainly republican. Same with Florida 4 years ago. If you look, typically most of the state is republican, but the high density areas tend to be more democratic.
  16. Let me put it this way. Anaheim was so banged up early in the season and they still didn't consider Erstad an option. Erstad can run. He's a good base stealer, its just the constant wear and tear that the Angels don't want to risk and won't risk. Unless its the world series, he will not play another game in the OF for Anaheim. Their have been a lot of articles talking about how his days in the OF are done in Anaheim. Maybe another team is gutsier. I guess you could compare him to Rondell White in a sense, and well after quite a few injury riddled years White was able to stay healthy for a year or two. And Erstad is gonna be a crazy man wherever he plays, regardless of whether he's in left. He's played plenty of games in left field and does nearly the same things.
  17. If they are only willing to give two years, then book it, he will be elsewhere, cause I expect him to get at the very least a 4 yr 24 mill deal. If he goes 3 years, I could see a 3 yr 21 mill deal working out, even 24 mill. But I guarantee at least someone offers him a 4 yr deal worth 24 mill.
  18. Will Obam even be old enough to run for president in 2008? I will admit, I think Obama is a big time up and comer in the democractic party. I don't know enough about him to say I'd vote him over Bush cause I probably wouldn't, but if he is really means what he says in the few interviews I've seen with him I'd at least say I respect him. I can not say that for John Kerry.
  19. Well a few articles have said that the Twins will deal both Jones and Hunter if they have to, to set aside the funds to resign Radke. I have no doubt that they will make a serious effort to keep him and odds are he stays in Minny. Of course, he is available and a team would be foolish not to contact him and make him an offer. You never know what Minny is going to do cause Carl Pohlad is a complete jagoff of an owner.
  20. Carlos Lee is not one of the worse left fielders in baseball. He's not one of the best either, but he is at the very least average. He hustles and works his ass off to get to that level and he has even made some good plays. Hell, as the season went on he even showed some improvement in his arm, which I used to call one of the worse in baseball for an outfielder.
  21. Ya, I can tell you, he's played left field and still gets hurt. His hammies can not take the day to day from the running and all the banging his knees/hammies take from him hitting the walls, diving and all that stuff. He gets hurt playing the outfield and he's too important for them to risk it. The Angels would have interest in Konerko cause they want some power at the corner positions. McPherson is going to be playing 3b and they will definately be open to adding a right handed hitter to hit in the 5 hole (replacing Guillen) and first base would be a possibility. Erstad is the best 1st baseman in baseball defensively.
  22. The Mariners are not rebuilding. They are expected to be one of the big spenders this offseason. They consider this a minor blip in the radar and the reason they'd do this deal is because Carlos Lee is one of the better young outfielders in baseball, is just entering his prime, and could be a piece Seattle can build around. The Mariners know they need to get some more legit hitters and thats going to be their goal this off-season. They have pitching prospects that they feel confident in and they are rumored to at least be open to dealing Pineiro. In case you doubt, the Mariners are expected to be players in Delgado/Sexson.
