Updated the stuff on Jose Cruz jr.
-
Interesting, I figured the Sox weren't going to do anything.
-
My dad was talking with one of his buddies that works for the Dodgers and it was according to him. But now I just heard it on the radio as well out here, so I figured between those two, thats enough info for me to go on.
-
Updated again: - Randy Johnson - Charles Johnson - Shawn Estes - Larry Walker - Angels update as well
-
I still think Cleveland is going to have their say of things in the division when this is all set and done.
-
Updated with Larry Walker rumor as well as a new trade offer on the table by the Dodgers for the Unit.
-
Johnson has approved a deal and the Dbacks are now backpedalling.

FutureSox.com's Major League Rumor Beat By Staff July 31, 2004 FutureSox.com In FutureSox.com's continued pursuit of being a more "national" prospect and baseball site, we will continue our coverage of the MLB trade deadline with a rumor wire. This wire will be updated as we learn more, so check back to this story often...MORE This story rumor beat will continue during the waiver deadline as well. Hope you guys are enjoying the stories with a little different perspective

Maybe Tony Armas or Preston Wilson, but I don't see much anything happening. I think this offseason the Sox will be really active on the trade front, changing the makeup of the team. And book it that Maggs and Elo are most likely gone. If Maggs asking price comes down, you may see him back though, imo. I also think you'll see quite a few new position players.

I think the reason we won't see any big trades go down, is to be honest, you have to start thinking now, this team may not do it. While acquiring a guy would be great, the team doesn't really have the pieces to get the difference makers necessary. I think the only thing thats left is a deal involving some major league players for other major league players and then a smaller deal with another team involving a few minor leaguers. Kind of like the Dodgers did yesterday.

I'm thinking thats right Mn, but I've never seen him pitch either. He wasn't used in any of the Kanny games I saw.

Now I'm purely speculating here, but if the Mets in one way, shape or form, offered Scott Kazmir for Esteban Loaiza then KW should of accepted it, regardless for what it meant for the team. The acquisition of Kazmir could A, add a chip to deal for another stud pitcher, or preferably, open up the gates to deal some of the Sox other pitchers and keep McCarthy and Kazmir for the future. I realize they are playing for now, but Elo is doing nothing to show he deserves that. The Sox are doing nothing to show they should be playing for it all. I think they will stand pat, and maybe make a deal during the waiver deadline, if and only if they get back into this race and start playing good baseball. If not, they'll keep guys like Buerhle, Garcia, and Garland and you'll see a lot of rebuilding, not where they won't compete next year, but to the fact that Ozzie can have a team that fits his style more, persay. I also found it interesting that Ozzie was pissed when he thought they were going to deal Sweeney. That tells me he must be a heck of a player. To think an A baller made that type of impression on the manager really says something. Oh ya, I will stick to my guns, Borchard should be dealt and should of been dealt over Reed if in fact the Mariners would of taken him instead. I don't understand the organizations fascination and this has nothing to do with his play with the White Sox, but everything to do with his lack of sucess the past few years in a hitters park known as Charlotte.

I was correcting a WRONG headline, by rushing through to get that up so google news would pick it up...unfortunately I was also in the midst of writing two other things. Ehhh...Brand Penny will always be famous, lol.

Mets Acquire Zambrano for Kazmir By Jason Gage July 30, 2004 FutureSox.com The New York Mets didn’t stop at acquiring RHP Kris Benson from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Their continued attempt to improve their rotation ended when they acquired RHP Victor Zambrano and RHP Bartolome Fortunato from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in exchange for prized LHP prospect Scott Kazmir and RHP Joselo Diaz.MORE

Mets trade top prospect to Rays for V. Zambrano ??
Chisoxfn replied to venezuelansoxfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ya, FS is now going to do trade breakdowns throughout the deadline as part of the new national coverage. Within a year I expect FS to converge upon being a national site and FS will probably be back as a site back on its own. -
Reportedly the Sox turned down a Preston Wilson deal a few days ago.

Sweet, Mike, if you want I'll do an analysis of one of the deals. Just pm me with which one you want me to write up -
He also fell over on a pitch that was called a strike...it was hillarious.

Olivo looked awful yesterday, although I gave him a nice standing ovation at the Angel game. My buddies thought I was nuts, lol.

Great read Evan

Who Are These Guys? By Evan Solon July 30, 2004 FutureSox.com If you have looked at a box score for a Kannapolis Intimidators game recently, you may have been wondering, “Who are these guys?” when referring to Ehren Wasserman and Leo Daigle. I know that’s what I thought when about 1 month and a half into the season, Wasserman was picking up save after save, and Daigle was consistently contributing from the clean-up spot on offense...MORE

Because the Dodgers have offers on the table with the Marlins to get Brad Penny or AJ Burnett for LoDuca and another minor leaguer reportedly. Jeff Conine would also be a part of the deal. And from what is being reported out here, none of the Dodgers top prospects would be included. Imo, you'd be a freaking idiot to accept this if you are the Marlins, but supposedly they are very interested and its quite likely a deal goes down.
