  1. I would be willing to part with Honel, Borchard and a lesser prospect like Andy Gonzalez (who does have a high ceiling) to get Beltran. I'd even be willing to give up someone like Jeremy Reed, although would prefer someone like Nanita or what not, but for a star player you have to give something up and Beltran is just that. However, it will be incredibly hard to resign him, but I'd prefer him over Maggs.
  2. Ya, Borchards arm is overhyped. Its another one of those things where after one or two persons say something about a guy it kind of just clicks. I'm not saying he has a bad arm, but their were some who would of told ya he had one of the best arms in the entire minors (not just the Sox). All I know is Thomas Brice probably has the best outfield arm in the Sox organization, imo.
  3. Well I'd ask for Amazega as well. That way the Sox have a platoon infielder who can handle those duties, imo, and also has the potential to be a little something more.

Playmakers Family Guy - but thats coming back Freeks and Geeks
  7. Most of the Angels I love. The other Angel I hate is David Eckstein. He is the biggest bum. I respect how he plays hard but he absolutely SUCKS. I boo him every at bat of every Angel game I go to and will continue to do so until he is benched
  8. Also, I think its we think they throw harder then they do because publications either project their velocity when they mention it, or base their consistent velocity based on the hardest pitch they have ever thrown in their lives. Personally I don't have a flaw with it, but it has been a while since the Sox really had some flamethrowers in their system.
  9. As much as I dislike Sele. I just watched the guy 2 hit the Yanks for 6 innings. His velocity is back up (88 MPH) and he's actually healthy. He isn't giving up many hits, although he is walking people, and he wouldn't be all that bad. However, the Sox would be adding payroll in this move. I actually though Ben Weber could be a possibility. He's struggled for the angels this year and as much as I don't like the guy, he's been sick the previous two years out of the pen.
  10. Very sorry to hear about that Mike. You and your wife are in my thoughts.
  11. I don't think Diaz was hyped quite like Ruffcorn though.
  12. I just want to see the Sox let Diaz get his shot if they aren't going to add someone. Everyone whined and complained about Harris and from the get go I said give him a month or a month and a half of consistent playing time and then be the judge. Finally the Sox did that and it looks as if they may have a pretty damn good leadoff hitter in him. I see that same type of ability in Diaz and I think if we give him a few more shots, he could prove to be a valuable 5th starter. However, I'm on the Freddy Garcia bandwagon.
  13. Frank Francisco was also part of the deal and the Rangers just called him up. Rogers was reporting that he was hitting 99 on the gun and the Rangers are really high on him. Personally I think he'll be around 94-95 which is what he always was with the Sox. I think Rupe is hurt right now or something along those lines if I recall.
  14. Brando, Charlotte's park will not inflate a line drive hitter like Jeremy Reeds stats. If anything, it would deflate them because it is a bandbox that rewards fly ball hitters.
  15. Jason From California Did learning the cutter in the AFL help you better prepare for this upcoming season? What is different about you this year compared to last year? On a related subject, did last year's stint in the majors help you prepare over the offseason and make you better prepared for this year? After making the show, was their one player that you were just really excited to meet, maybe a childhood favorite? When you heard you were a part of the Billy Koch trade, were you excited to come back to Chicago or were you dreading the cold? Thanks for doing this Neal
  16. Ya, I Think I explained that too ya last week
  17. I'm jealous of the Twins. I freaking love their style of play.
  18. I saw that and was shocked. Just wait till Sheff, Vidro, and Edmunds get going. Plus Matsui looks like he may be ready to heat up again
  19. Nothing is sicker then Gagne coming out of the pen right now in LA. The fans absolutely go nuts and shockingly most stay till the end of the game now just to see him. However, I've never heard anything quite like Trevor Hoffman coming in to close out the NLCS back in 98 or 99 or whenever it was they went to the series. Him and Hells Bells is definately tops of any song and now it appears a lot of people use it.
  20. Twins by far right now. In the 90's, it was obviously the Tribe.
