I'd love Grace as a PBP guy. He is really funny and knows the game. This is a direct slap in the fact to the Cubs organization, imo.

I just heard that. What a great comment.

And thats a Blackhawks winner!!

I actually watched the game (Had to take advantage of the free week of NHL Center Ice). Hawks looked alright. Thibault was huge but the defense made some ugly plays and their were way too many penalties. The offense didn't get many scoring penalties but I did see the Hawks lay some huge hits. The thing was it seemed like at times the hits was all they cared about. Didn't see much of Ruutu, was looking for him all game, but didn't notice him much. -
I recognized a lot of names but wasn't familiar with many songs. I really like disc two a whole lot. Disc one is solid, but some of the stuff is heavier then my usual liking.

Anyone know of a place where you can get tshirts made for cheap?

Sounds Cool. Thanks for that info...and welcome aboard. If you can, tell them to make sure every Sox game is still televised

I like the Take Action 2 DISC CD. That was a great buy for 3.99.

That would be pretty cool.

Yep, I've had it on Direct Tv and now we have cable and I have it on that. Same price either way. Great package though, especially for out of towners. As far as the new station, I'm sure it will be a regional thing, but I think it sounds cool to have one station for everything. I hope this means that the Sox don't televise anymore games on WCIU (This way I would get almost all Sox broadcasts). The one thing they will have to do is come up with an alternate station that soley works when the Cubs/Sox are scheduled at the same time on the same station.

I can't wait either. These are two of the few dvd's I have boughten. Lord of the Rings is just an awesome movie and I can't wait for the next one. The next Matrix should be cool too.

I think the best thing to do in that case would be to stagger the game time. Have a 6:30 or 7:00 Eastern time start in New York and have the game on Fox. This way people in central time also get it in primtime, while the people on the West Coast can watch the end. Then when that games ends, Fox goes into the cubs game (Which could be seen in full on FX). You have the Cubs game start at 7:30 central time, so odds are everyone can see more then one game on primetime while people have the option of watching both.

Out here in California its smoking out...or at least thats the term when you go smoke pot. I'm not a smoker though. Probably smoked 6 cigarettes my entire life.

Cap is like 105 million or something like that and they will be well under that after they lose those veterans. I was even wrong, I had Ashby making less, so they will have more like 23 million off the cap (I'm not counting Ventura or Burnitz cause they aren't paying either of them much of anything).

I don't have a problem with the idea if the Sox landed Mota, their top pitching prospect (I thought it was Guiterez but maybe I'm thinking of someone else. The kid came up and beat Randy Johnson in his first game. He spent most of the season in AA). And then were able to get Joe Thurston, then I'd be happy. The big reason is with Maggs money you can invest it in other areas. I still think that after dealing Maggs, the Sox would then have to go out and move Konerko/Koch or get one of them to restructure. I think if this team is going to compete at a 55-60 mill payroll, then one of Koch/Konerko has to be moved as well as Magglio. I think Magglio is a winner, but I don't see this team competing with him making 14 mill a year. Now if the Sox get him to go longterm and it drops his per year total just a bit more then Giles, then its another story. Heres the one dillema if your the sox. You can't sign Castillo/Cabrerra thinking your going to move Maggs. The Sox wouldn't take the risk of getting stuck with a huge payroll, so they would first have to move Maggs and then go out and do that. So if KW is going to do something along those lines, he is going to have to be very quick to pull of some deals that cut some big salaries to allow him to get room to get some different type of players here. I know one thing, if you keep the pitching staff together and keep a good bullpen, then this team will compete.

Everything I have read has said that the Dodgers will be players this offseason. They aren't really paying Burnitz or Ventura anything so those losses won't be huge, but they are losing Andy Ashby's contract (at like 6 or 7 mill) as well as McGriffs at like 4 mill. Thats about 10 mill they are dumping and for some reason I thought they lose someone elses...oh wait, Brian Jordan at like 10 mill, so thats 20 mill that they spent last year that they will have available. Will they spend all of it? Who knows, but I know Evans plans on using most of it. And their have been talks that the payroll may even go up, but odds are it will stay the same. I don't think they have many players getting raises in their contracts, other then the fact that they may go longterm with Gagne, which will cost a fortune. They are looking to move Brown/Green although I don't think they will find any takers. After this season, they lose more bad contracts, such as Todd Hundleys. They will add at least one big bat.

At least Herpes and Wartes don't kill you. Aren't some of the Hepititis not cureable?

Great minds think alike. Yep...Dodgers system is barren. I want good prospects/players from a good system. Khalil Greene is a very good 2nd/ss prospect who is ready for the show right now. Peavy could come in and be a very cheap very competent 5th starter as he develops into a better pitcher, and folks he has all the stuff to become an ace or a good #2. Then your 3rd prospect could be one of the pads vets (Not really a prospect, but if they want to unload someone to fit then thats cool) or a solid prospect in AA or so. I don't know a ton about their system, I know they have like Ben Howard who has kind of fallen out of love, but has great stuff. Would Towers be willing to sacrifice Greene? I mean they already have their big name now with Brian Giles in San Diego. I would do it, Greene could be our shortstop for a very long time. CWSOX45 and outfield with maggs/Giles in it can carry an offense. The question is how much money are the pads willing to spend. Cause they still need pitching and would they give up Peavy? If they don't, would they give up 2 or 3 of their stud arms down in the minors...afterall they've already given up Oliver Perez. I think Greene is available, especially with the Pads having Jake Gatreau. To me it would either be the deal as I proposed above: Greene, Peavy, mid level prospect OR if they are unwilling to move Peavy Greene, Nady, Top Prospect Pitcher, Pretty damn good pitching prospect. You then use Nady as bait to land a starting pitcher from elsewhere, potentially Javier Vazquez if you want or someone else.

Without young fans...baseball will be dead. Still 4 eastern would suck...then I wouldn't typically get to see the game. Although I'm home from work today studying for a huge freaking test I got tomorrow.

Kansas football doesn't even come close to Iowa football But your bball team keeps stealing Iowa's good players. I've believed for the past two years that it would stop, now that Alford is here, but it has yet to. I got a lot of faith in Steve though and I see Iowa competiting in the upper tier of the big 10 this year. They have a great front court and back court, the only question is depth. But a lot of guys gained experience last year that wouldn't have.

Make him the martyr. Too many Bears are getting busted for DUI's.

No, If Gaston is brought in I think that Ozzie Guillen will join the staff as the 3rd base coach and that everyone else will stay. From all indications Kenny believes the retained members of the staff will stay with the big club. I agree with that and I hope whoever comes in keeps those already on board because they seem like good coaches.

They have to put one game on little Fox (FX) and the other is going to be on the big station. How could this possibly be a good business move. You only get to have a 3 hour game or so on your primetime network that gets big advertising bucks, plus you split your market in half and you can't get as much money for the commercials during Fox. Now if they go with a 4 start time (7 eastern) and then a late start game for the Cubs game (9 central/10 eastern) you at least get one primetime game on the East Coast, so the Yankee fans can see it. Then you get the central area which basically gets two prime time games and west coastners like myself get at least half of the first prime time game (Once you get home from work) and then a prime time game in the Cubs. Plus, you keep that viewership over a much longer period of time. I'd say near the same amount of total people will watch the Cubs/Yanks game during that 3 hour segment as would of if it were just the Yanks/Red Sox game on and then that same huge segment would watch the Cubs/Marlins game. I don't know what the hell Fox is thinking, but this type of logic explains why Fox Sports constantly struggles and now won't even really exist in Chicago.
