While I like Peavy and Perez a lot (Namely Peavy) you don't trade a 23 year old ace for guys that could turn into aces. Its so rare for a pitcher to live up to their hype and projections. While I think Peavy can its not worth dealing. The Sox have Buehrle for a fwe more years and I'm sure they can work something out. Afterall the two sides were really close this offseason.

Your right on the trade analysis. In fact both teams need better pitching and rumors were flying that the Jays would trade Stewart for pitching. Looks like kind of a wash as far as stats are concerned but Kielty is a switch hitter. Well Kielty is a long term solution in Toronto. I'm also guessing if they want to turn around and get a pitcher that they may have something good to offer the Sox for Bartolo Colon if the Sox fall out of conention.

It made no sense to me. They have a really good group of outfielders. What that team needs is some much better pitching. Now that they have Shannon Stewart, does that mean we could acquire Jacque Jones? He could play center for the Sox.

I can't say whether the Sox got hosed in the Everett deal or not, not until I see who exactly goes. I really dont' mind losing Webster, Yan or Diaz. The guys I don't want to lose are Pacheco and Rupe. Also, the big reason I'm proponing this trade is cause the Sox would really be ready next year and with Jerry Manuel managing I don't have any faith that the Sox can do it this year. I know the team, on paper, is damn good, but thats it. They've been good on paper all season, even before Alomar and Everett joined, and what has that meant on the field, nothing. Sox should play this thing up if they aren't over .500 and playing ver good by July 27th or 28th. Thats my deadline for things. I wanted Manuel gone at the break and a new manager given 10 or so games to show whether he could get this team playing at the level it is capable of. If they don't, then see ya later Colon, Alomar, Everett, Carlos, Frank (If someone takes him). I'd hold Konerko unless there was an offer from a team willing to pay his entire salary. I'd also deal Koch and Gordon cause they won't be back next year. I'd completely overhaul this team. If I didn't get a good offer, I'd just let the player walk for draft pick compensation. The taem would still have damn good pitching with Buehrle, Elo, and Garland aboard. It would also have a ton of money to spend on guys (Like getting a good shortstop; Matsui or Tejada). Pitching is what wins and this team has a lot of those pieces. Blow up a lot of the offense and rebuild guys around it.

Buehrle is untouchable, imo. He is underpaid, extremely young, and talented. Best young lefty in the majors, maybe. Zito, Mulder, Buehrle hands down. Now I'd love to get Mulder back to Chicago and team him up with Buehrle.

Interesting to hear that cut payroll line. They weren't direct quotes though, but if thats the case I think KW has a date in mind of deciding whether the Sox are buyers or sellers. Thus far after seeing some of the trades go down, this year looks like you can get good value selling and you can also do good buying if your willing to take on payroll.

i hate to say this, but their farm sytem of players are a little better then ours at this moment. As of now, that's questionable. A dozen or so of their pitching prospects have injuries. I'm not high on Pie at all, makes me shudder when a scout says "5 tool talent". More often than not, they're wrong. Pie has incredible hype, but until he puts the numbers to back it up at a higher level, I'll hold judgement. I feel the same way about Anthony Webster. Cruz and Wellmeyer are two guys I'd want. I also think Kelton would be a really good pickup for an AL team. He's a very good athlete and could play LF/DH and play left field very well, imo. He could also play first. If the Sox are out of it, get on the horn and try to give them Everett (To play center) and give them Alomar for 2nd. Ask for Cruz and Kelton and i'd be happy. Cruz is way better then Ring and Kelton to me is more advanced then anyone we gave up in the Everett deal. I'd also try to get Wellmeyer or Beltran and see what they'd say. Insert Cruz into the rotation, Kelton into left to replace one of our outfielders (They are working him in center right now; The Cubs) and Wellmeyer or Beltran as relievers with closer potential. We get two power arms and a guy that could develop into a .300 plus hitter. I'd see Kelton filling out real nice in the two hole.

Not bad by the Pirates GM. Cubs are in a pretty desperate situation so give them high stakes and hope they call back with a bit lower offer thats still damn good. Damn, hearing that offer, I'd be more then willing to move a few of our guys that could help the Cubs for all those prospects.

Its a chronic problem and basically he was told a few years ago that he wouldn't be able to pitch. He has kept pitching and the Sox took a chance on him because of all the advances in modern medicine.

jas all of the boxes but one are sold.. the one belongs to com ed and is free to them for exchange of power supplied to the park for free from the substation which is on the comiskey grounds........other than that the other boxes are sold out each and every year.........thats in the stockholders reports.... If thats the case you can't really doubt that they are a sucess from a financial standpoint. I think the big thing of this renovation has to be to fix the upperdeck and maybe find a way to have a homer porch, but just a small one. I really like having open stadiums in the outfield.

Garret Anderson and Magglio Ordonez were always part of my all under-rated team. Hank Blalock is another guy on that team. Only 22 years old, DAMN.

So do those that hate Barry for these comments also dislike Rickey for calling himself the greatest? Me I think Bonds is a jerk in the media, but i really don't care. He doesn't beat his wife or get in trouble with the law. He is a damn good player, maybe the best ever. Although I think in comparison for offensive players when its all set and done Pujols or Arod would go down as greater, namely Arod cause of the position he plays.

I definately think the two levels throw things off, but it also makes them money. I'm assuming most of the boxes are sold. If they aren't then its really a bad mistake. Still, if it was only one level of suites, the upper deck wouldn't be so steep and it would be lower. It definately would of been nice. I really think the Cell is one of the nicer parks in the majors from the ones I've seen. I'd rate it in the second group along with Edison and some other stadiums. Maybe 3rd group. And the food selection is better then almost any park in the majors.

Kielty is a real good pickup, imo. I just love the way he plays. JP is one of the very best GM's in the game (Toronto's GM). I'd love to find a way to get Kielty in here.

Maybe we could trade Carlos for Kielty and someone else.

I'd absolutely love a 540 BMW or Audi A8 (The new version). Then to go with my phat car, I'd get me the Lexus RX as my SUV, although i love the looks of the Range Rover. Hummers are phat too.
