  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) From facebook... Tyrus Thomas I'm a BULL 18 minutes ago   This has made my day a whole lot better.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) I like Nix so much better as an infielder. More than Getz actually, if Nix could actually hit (he hasn't really proved he can't FWIW). There's many reasons to like Nix. His upside is crazy high, his glove is very special. The only thing that's been holding him back for years is if he can actually hit a baseball. I've said that for a long time here. I liked him more than Getz in ST when they were battling out, though I still think you need a real player like Getz on your team. I mean Nix has a .740+ ops and he's only hitting like .230, that how much upside he COULD have.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:13 PM) Temp fix and in the off-season you sign Figgins to play 3B until the Cuban tank slides over there. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Though I still think Fields get too much hate here.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) Jeff Francouer is similar to Carl Everett in that, Everett doesn’t believe in dinosaur’s and Francouer doesn’t believe in OBP. :lolhitting Nice. He's called that for a reason. A true "free-loader".
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Francoeur on the other hand...I'm speechless. I'm assuming they like his youth (still only 25) and think he has some upside, to go with that killer arm of his. Might not be bother that he can't take a walk, but hey.. it's the aggressiveness that counts right...

  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) Back, b****es. You were gone?
  8. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:34 PM) Maybe an A ball guy or a AAA vet? Hell a Brent Lillibridge type scrub will do just nicely.
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) Ever think he still is very raw as a pitcher and we are still working on him refining his mechanics/stuff? Well no s***.. coulda sworn I said something about mechanics (and/or maturity issues) on my original post.
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) He has a great K:BB ratio, but he has been far from dominant in low A. His ERA is solid but unspectacular, and while he K's a lot of people, he also gives up a decent amount of hits as his opp. BA is not that impressive as it is .245, probably closer to .250 after today. I like Carter, but I don't think he's quite really earned a promotion yet. Bull, He and Hudson had nearly identical numbers in their first 4 starts in April. Hudson (rightfully so), gets the promotion and Carter is still pitching in low A. Now I don't know if it was mechanics to work on more with Carter or maturity issues (which I heard a rumor from) but he was actually well ahead of the curve in low A. I don't care if his era was 4.50, if your striking out guys at a ridiculous pace (10+ K9), not to mention your BB is very low (2.5 BB9), and your H to IP is solid, with a low WHIP, your ass should not be stuck in low A this long. Hell he had better numbers than Hudson in Great falls last year and was one of their dynamic go to pitchers in the playoffs. He should not be in low A this long plain and simple, even if it was maturity issues which I still seriously doubt.
  11. I would say at this point, Dexter Carter probably has to throw a no hitter to finally move up to high A.

    Michelle Beadle...

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) TRU I dont know if you ever have given any girl credit for being attractive. You are probably the harshest critic on womens looks outside of my brother(who happens to be gay). Well Carl does shave his legs. Not saying TRU is gay cause hes my boy, but I'd just thought I'd throw that in here.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 02:38 AM) Who the heck is Huff? David Huff. That guy.
  14. Congrats to Jordan Danks!! He's replacing David Cook in the All-Star game.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) Ha. Good call, but at least he was young and new with a babyface... not an old Royal's reject.
  16. I'll say this after all of the stuff said in here... Jimmy Gobble being DFA'd is probably the greatest thing that's ever happened to the organization and the fans who had to watch him.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/20...ees_to_6ye.html Worst contract ever? Dear lord.... Looks like Parker is gone too for some posters here who wanted him.
  18. In the words of Jhonny Danks poster.. don't stop get it get it.
  19. The Hell Yes... I love. The double Yes... yea that's pushing it IMO.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 10:42 PM) Daniel Black just destroyed the ball tonight. Going 3-4 with a 2b, 3B and an RBI Heavy D!!! Still sureal to see him in the sox organization. Oh.. and Brent Morel is hitting like he's possessed.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) Actually 12:34:56 07/08/09 Oh and 07/08 can either read July 8 or 7 August. I can now quote and send PMs to people!!!! W00T!!!!
  22. This year was Grienke's CY Young to lose, and so far now, he seems to not want it. Makes you think how incredible Cliff Lee's season was in his Cy Young year. I don't even think he had as many bad outings the whole year as Greinke so far.
  23. Maybe it's a good thing Beckham moved up so quick to save people's sanity.
  24. Looks like tomorrow could be the official day.
