Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil
QUOTE (spiderman @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 06:48 AM) It would probably extend his career to go the NL, I'm just not sure I'd want to pitch for a team nobody cares about (then again, he just came from the White Sox) and maybe he has Ozzie hangover (then again, if Florida's willing to pay).... Gettin paid millions to pitch in a new stadium, not so good fan base and low pressure, as well as possibly relocating the family to a no state tax with excellent weather, establishments and gorgeous women. I'd hate to play in Florida too...

Potential free agents?
QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 07:07 PM) Sox are rumored to be at suitor for Josh Willingham. I highly doubt it because they would have to move Quentin and bench De Aza. Both moves I don't see happening. His .361 career OBP would be a welcomed addition for Jeff Manto.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 06:17 AM) Spencer and Louis are playing great. I changed my mind on Carimi, no rush getting him back. The Eagles don't have some b**** line either. How's J'Marcus Webb looking? Didn't catch yesterday's game. If he's still meh, might make it interesting to see the Bears move Carimi back to his original position in college.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) Earl Bennett also showed the other Bears wideouts what a good receiver looks like. He is by far the best WR on this team. I said that before his injury too.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) Coaching staff needs a shake up. For the skill that is on this team, there is no way the should have the 29th ranked PP in the league. Inexcusable. Even Foley has started making backhanded comments. Everyone in the league knows the Hawks will be looking for the backdoor on the advantage. It's all they do. If it isn't available(which it rarely is considering every PK squad knows it's coming and collapses down low), they have no other option. The Hawks power play literally has become a way to take momentum away from this team. Needs to change. NOW. Kitchen needs to go. And anyone wanna tell Bickell to show up? Dude has been pretty worthless at everything since the opening week. Hawks have noone in their top 9 that throws the body around.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) I remember considering him one of the best in the game, and now he's splitting time. Really? I always thought he was overrated as another Oakland hyped prospect at the time (this was after the Zitos, Hudsons, Chavez, Mulders, etc.. of the world came along and when the hype machine of the Hernandez, Crosbys, Swishers, etc.. of the world began, although I did like Crosby as a prospect at the time)

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2011 -> 07:59 AM) Crawford stood on his head for most of that game. There is no reason that team should give up 40+shots in regulation alone. Keith being injured doesn't help matters.. I will say though anytime you see Jack Skille skate fast to the right side and fire low quality shots on net, you know it's going to be a good stat night for the goalie. Brings back good ol' memories.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) Nolan Ryan would still beat some ass. Wasn't he like 44 at the time when he did that? Guy was a bulldog.

Is Jeff Manto this dumb
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Not that the formula has any merit, but it already accounted for the homerun's run and rbi thing by subtracting homeruns once. Why are you taking them out a second time? The idea is that when you knock yourself in, then you are only creating one run. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) You are absolutely right, I am an idiot. 0.960 Konerko 0.898 Quentin 0.889 De Aza 0.861 Ramirez 0.810 Pierre 0.655 Rios 0.632 Flower 0.627 Beckham 0.605 Pierzynski 0.595 Morel 0.557 Lillibridge 0.552 Viciedo 0.549 Dunn 0.448 Vizquel 0.373 Teahen My god... Very rarely do you see someone prove Kalapse wrong in a post. Might have to bookmark this one boys.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 05:44 PM) He is hurt to me after the season I look for him to admit he was hurt most of the year. He won't admit it to the press. He's one tough s.o.b. But I do expect the Chargers team to release a statement down the line.

Buehrle wins Gold glove
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) It's nice to finally be on the receiving end of one of those Gold Gloves for life things. So true. Though the difference is right now.. Buehrle actually deserves them based on the defensive stats. Congrats Mark!

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) Rogers was a mid-20's pick who a lot of people thought had serious mechanical issues coming out of college. Having Rogers start right away was an invitation to turning him into Alex Smith. Having Luck sit for 3 years is a complete waste...he ought to be starting by day 1 in the league. Rodgers was a consensus top 10 pick (alot argued #1 overall) but unfortunately pulled a Roethlisberger and slipped to the Packers lap with elite mechanics, a strong arm, and good foot work. He has very little weaknesses (in fact I think his only main weakness was his size at 6'2 and was a late bloomer so some scouts questioned his true upside). It's not his fault others teams passed on him. I do agree that having him digest that playbook was crucial to his development. Might have been over-ready actually.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Sadly enough, I actually saw someone dressed as this yesterday. Idea stealer. So did I.. some party in Berwyn which was one of the worst nights of my life sadly. Never going back to that city again.

Carcillo is gone for 2 games. His history with the league did him in on that one. Not as bad as most thought however cause there was no penalty on the play. (same length when Kubina was suspended after he concussed Bolland with no penalty)

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) It's a good thing I didn't say that they always and forever are the clear winners of the trade. I said they're the clear winners. I can only speak on what has happened now. If the Sox do that, which is highly unlikely, then we can say they did just as well. But that hasn't happened. The fact is that the Cardinals have won a World Series due, at least in part, to the trade. The World Series title is a trump card as of right now. You people are over thinking it. Stop Milk. Your making too much sense.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) I haven't heard enough about Saladinos defense but I wonder if he's going to be another Dayan where we have to move him around 3248329432 times to fit his bat in somewhere. He is a very good defensive SS.

Halloween Costumes
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Worst day of the year in Chicago is New Year's eve, by far. Really? Never been downtown on New Years. Have to check that out now to say "I've been there." Agreed on Halloween, though personally I don't mind seeing women wearing skimpy, sexy Halloween costumes.

2011 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) His 05 draft was one of the best drafts of the decade, for sure, and he can run an organization, but I think he's not top 5 anymore, especially after doing so much with roiders. I think Jason McLeod had more to do with that. His draft picks the last 6-7 years have been ridiculous.

Although I think Ryno will eventually become the manager, I think the Cubs brass will kinda "milk the time" sorta speak.
