  1. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 18, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Romine is hardly a top tier catching prospect. He's more of an average regular if things pan out. Still somewhat valuable though. I know you agree with me on this as far as their system, but IMO, he is the most overrated prospect in the Yankees system, and top 5 in the minors. I don't mind the deal however since the sox are rebuilding.
  2. Anyone ever seen a professional hockey player miss an empty net from literally half a foot away? Almost, if not as bad as Stefan's goof against the Oilers.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) AWESOME!! I love that little guy. Now I anticipate Saad showing up next. Even though he's playing against somewhat weak competition Saad has 18 points in 8 games. 9 goals 9 assists. He's been injured for a while. I doubt he even sniffs Chicago till next season.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) Hilarious Bill Simmons dunk video! Whats sad is his dunk video is still better than what most people have seen in an NBA dunk contest since Vince Carter. (and a few of Dwight Howards, minus the props)
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) So, we all agree that wite sucks? He isn't even on my top 5 funny drunk posters list, so absolutely.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) You're still waiting for that to happen? It's gonna happen Herbert.
  7. I actually prefer Buehrle to stay more-so than Konerko when he was in his process, so it's hard to really gauge a value with my head instead of with my heart. If this somehow helps future stud Danks resigns... thanks for everything Mark.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) My freshman year of college we all called my roommate "The Philosopher" when he was drunk. I swear his IQ actually went up 20 points when he had been drinking. One of my closest friends is the same way. It's amazing the things he says, and it makes crazy sense/is true.

If anyone cares/is interested to know, that other sox site is the 783rd board they track, but they are 351st in posts last week.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) That goes both ways. Yes, the price tag for closers is gross. Making Santos, possibly, a lot more attractive. Look, we're not talking Craig Kimbrel here. Santos is definitely not untouchable. Addison Reed is the future closer of this team anyway. But Santos is an arb guy so it doesn't hurt to keep him for a while unless some team(s) offers a solid prospect(s) for him.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Luongo has a minor injury, so it's Scheneider in net tomorrow. That sucks.. big time.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) The physical skills, probably not. But there is no doubt about the mental side of playing QB. With as many guys as we see with the physical tools still wash out, there is big value in actually being able to develop them before throwing them to the wolves. Couldn't have said it any better myself.
  13. Luck is going to be a beast learning from Peyton. Even Rodgers himself said digesting that playbook and learning from Favre on tendencies of the QB position on the field helped his development. In fact.. I'd argue he was one year over ready. His accuracy is just incredible.
  14. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 04:59 AM) Hitting up Chi-Town for a few days probably also. You still down to get the party crackin when you get here Andy? I just bought the party hat. And just came back from Vegas. Other than only being there for 3 days it was just outstanding. Never forget what I did there (well accept the first night where I blacked out).

    Vegas..... awesome.
  16. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) Somebody gave you a credit card, Gerry? It amazed even me John.
  17. Well the good news is I will be going to Vegas with the co workers this weekend. Bad news is I just got a huge card fraud on my Visa which complicates things.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman willie bloomquist has agreed with the #dbacks for $3.8M over 2 yrs, as @ScottMCBSSports said. sfgiants were i mix. Lookout for wite creaming his pants somewhere.
  19. Ya I was sad on hearing that yesterday. RIP to a guy I grew up listening to (along with the Boyz).
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 05:20 PM) SosnickCobbe Sosnick Cobbe Sports Dallas McPherson has re-signed with the Chicago White Sox. McPherson slammed 20 HRs to go along with a .283 AVG in Triple-A Charlotte. That's great news for the Knights.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) For some reason I have always just assumed that they would work out a deal with Mark. If all these reports are true, it sounds like he is probably gone. That sucks. I remember hearing the same things about Konerko before he eventually came back. I'll say this though.. it's interesting cause the sox supposedly aren't "all in" this off-season like they were when they brought back Pauly and A.J. so that could be the dagger there.
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) Would the Sox really get good value for him? Seems like they might be selling low. Meh.. couple years removed from top 10 pick in the draft, good glove now, potential with the bat (shown success) still in arb years, scouts might love him from other teams to take a chance on... Might be value there.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 08:30 AM) All I have to say to that is mehhh. He also probably has the most stupid mistakes and penalties. That would be J'Marcus Webb, from what I gathered from your post.. is explaining him to a tee. And I agree about Louis. He is fun to watch out there with his nastiness.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 07:56 AM) I'm not do committed to Williams at LG He's been the most consistent O-Linemen on the team since the start. I think he's found a new home there for the next several years for the Bears.
  25. One of the toughest boxers (and I'd argue was the toughest) to ever lace up the gloves with the best left jab/hook. Huge heart. My uncle has fond memories of Smokin Joe (his favorite boxer). Guy literally wouldn't give an inch even if you had the mile on him. R.I.P.
