  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) He's never going to have Barry Bonds' plate discipline. Don't tell Balta that..
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) Morel needs more AB in the majors. He doesn't have holes in his swing, he just looks overmatched. He needs reps against good pitching. Also, nothing Omar Vizquel can do is going to turn this team around. He's a very useful piece, but it's in this team;s best interest to let Morel figure it out at the major league level. Agreed completely, and this is where I have a problem with Ozzie and rookie hitters. He's got a plus UZR right now (though still early) so he's not killing you in the field. It is just disappointing the sox have started off this way. If we were in better shape, I think Ozzie still gives Morel consistent at bats, especially with his defense on the field but since we are under .500, he has to play who is actually hitting. (though Morel is batting .388 in his last 5 games) I haven't caught alot of sox games this year since I work the night shift, so maybe I don't understand the whole issue.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Saladino 1-3, HR. His 2nd of the season. I still would like to see more opinions on his defense. KG has called him a true SS, but he's the only one who seems confident in that regard. Think Gordon Beckham except more range and better hands. (though IMO Beckham has the better arm when he was the SS for Georgia) Jeff (Ozzie Ball) probably has a better scouting report than I do though.
  4. She look like she was enjoying that.
  5. QUOTE (3E8 @ May 15, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Southsider2k5 does not think so. But obviously he passed last years tests since we did not hear anything. So unless he is on HGH, which would devastate me, he is human. Well since they do test now, he isn't unless there's something he's taking that isn't showing up yet. And BTW, I believe he's clean too and agree with wite about his mechanical adjustment.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) I don't think that's that bold of a statement. Really, there is no bench that is good enough to go toe to toe with the Bulls'. What's better is how well the Bulls bench has played against Miami both in the regular season and tonight. Correct, though I will say the Thunder bench is very underrated.
  7. Infante with a decent outing in his AAA debut. NSS's boy Remenowsky just has amazing peripherals in AA.
  8. I know Spolstra was saying you have to move the ball against this Bulls team to be effective and he's right. The problem is, his team is more of a straight up ISO/one on one. You can't do that against this defense who is excellent in weak side help and even one on one. I haven't seen this defense play that well this year. Just straight aggressive in closing in, straight up, covering the passing lanes, diving for loose change, etc. The Heat bench is not good enough to go toe to toe with the Bulls bench.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 14, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) f*** that, I hope he gets away. That was impressive. As do I. Quite the story to tell as well. (especially the not getting caught part)
  10. One of my favorite prospects in the system Ryan Buch with a weird outing. Great BB:SO ratio though. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 14, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) Well...yeah. I think it's time for him to move up, send Restovich packing. I agree. I thought he should of been in AAA to start the year. Showed great discipline last year and this year looks too good for AA.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:58 AM) You release players who are bad. Tony Pena is bad. KW tryin to see if Pena is still the reliever he thought he was getting in the Brandon Allen trade.
  12. QUOTE (OilCan @ May 13, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Charles Leesman has now collectively pitched about a full year of AA ball, being pretty good. 17 games, 8-2 record, 93 IP, 69 hits allowed, 35 walks, 79Ks, roughly a 3.00 ERA in Birmingham. What is preventing him from being promoted to Charlotte? The sox are going to let him pitch a few more innings to fine tune. He'll be in AAA soon.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 12, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) A Carter is just not having a good season. Seems to me he's having more bad luck judging by his BABIP. The sleeper Gallagher with a nice OBP.
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 12, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) Atlanta is relocating to Winnipeg, it's official. Good. Lets ask them not to match (or trade) Andrew Ladd too in the off-season to us. (rumors were he wouldn't sign if they relocated) QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 12, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) They'll get smoked by the nucks and you have to blow up that team at this point. Agreed and I think Boston is the only team that can actually beat the Canucks whose left.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 11, 2011 -> 03:59 AM) I don't think I could just up and become a Brewers fan or a fan of some other random team. And I'd certainly never become a Cubs fan. Interesting question though. Agreed completely. I'll discuss baseball with teams I like (for example Rockies or Rays) but I would not have the same rooting interest. If Sox left.. well.. it's Bulls, Bears (ugh..) B-Hawks for me.
  16. Possibly 5 years eh? I guess he'll be on another version of "Around the Horn."
  17. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) He will get hit by a pitch eventually He's been hit already once this year. It is quite odd to see him not have a walk yet, even for him who was never really a walks machine in the minors. (though not Viciedo bad)
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 12, 2011 -> 07:01 AM) Brandon Phillips has made a couple plays similar to Konerko's last night. That said, amazing play by PK. Not to mention Sam Fuld literally making 2 or 3 of the top plays of the year by himself. That was still a great play though by PK.
  19. Danks sportin a .928 OPS.
  20. Ugh Canucks advance.. I'm gonna throw up.
