QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) FWIW, Tallon is killing is today. Upshall, Fleischmann, Theodore, and Jovo. Wow. The Panthers are not gonna be bottom dwellers next season thats for sure. I think Fleischmann, if healthy, is the biggest steal out of anybody so far. I love the Brunette signing for the Hawks. He might be a bit old and slow, but he is still the playmaking LW that the Hawks lacked to pair with snipers Sharp and Hossa.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
Just beyond awful as as a pure basketball fan. Also sad to see guys stripped of a year in their primes (or early development I.E. Griffin, Wall, etc.. etc.. etc..) Football and Basketball in lockouts... if that holds up, this fall and winter is going to be hell (not just weather wise) especially if you don't like hockey (though I like the Blackhawks) or college football/basketball.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 07:07 AM) Hail damage on the car. My sympathies Sqwert. I bought an 09' Toyota Camry (black, leather interior, full navigation, 4 cylinder, etc..) yesterday and am ecstatic! Of course I had to drive it home when it was raining crazy hail from last night as well, but luckily, no damages.

6/30 Games
QUOTE (gfbaseball @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 07:34 AM) Leighton Pangilinan (1B) had a great game last night for the Voyagers in the 8-5 victory. Panda went 4 for 5 with a HR, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. He's on a 6 game hit streak and has been red hot his last three games going a combined 7 for 12. He could be something special if he gets his poop in a group. Is he as "full of himself" (and I'm putting that nicely) as what I heard about him?

2011-2012 NHL Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) I like our chances of signing Cole. I think the Hawks definitely have interest. Don't see them going for any more d-men unless they can't ink Campoli. Names that keep getting thrown around include Max Talbot and Mike Rupp. Here's one I'm throwing out: Simon Gagne. Apparently he's going to come pretty cheap. I actually think Sopel comes back on the cheap. The defense 1-6 is set, but then you have John Scott as your #7 and I would think the Hawks want more stability at the position in case of injury. (not buying the whole "Scott needs more playing time," though I hope I'm right) And I don't know about Gagne. Dude is literally one hit away from a career ender with all his concussion problems/history. Might as well sign a more talented player like Tim Connolly as a #2 center if thats the case.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:03 AM) I'm not sure if it's an agreed upon consensus that he is #1, but IMO the results speak for themselves. The pitching staff that won the 2006 WS alone puts him up there. In comparing Duncan to Cooper, I tend to see one big difference. Cooper has fixed a lot of pitchers who had the talent, just needed help figuring it out. Many of the pitchers Duncan helped have garbage arms, and somehow he teaches them how to not only survive, but sometimes also excel in the majors. Agreed, and I don't think there's a question both guys are two of the best in the game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) two first round picks for Stamkos? I am fine with that. We will be talking about the last pick in the first rounds' anyway. Hell I'm fine with 3 first. You don't find franchise talents like him very often. This isn't Phil Kessel.

Well Oshie is staying in St. Louis so there's that for the dreamers. http://www.truehockey.com/articles/Oshie-a...ee-on-Extension Though Dubinsky is probably more realistic to offer sheet depending on Richards going there as rumors suggest.

2011-2012 NHL Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) This may have something to do with the Campoli negotiations. Perhaps he wants too much? Well that or teams have been giving up late round picks to get their guy before they hit FA. (Ehrhoff, Wiz, etc..) QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) Take this with a gigantic, humungous grain of salt, but Ekland said: "Then I was told Chicago...who has been very quiet after freeing up money with the Campbell trade, was suddenly part of not only the Parise rumor, but possibly was putting an offer sheet together for Stamkos." Either of these would be absolutely insane. Toews as a second line center... wowza. Kane can do exactly what St. Louis is doing for Stamkos too as a playmaking RW. Hell, Parise would just be golden by himself, especially with the Hawks loaded with prospect depth. Ok let me not get ahead of myself.

White Sox @ Rockies, 7:40pm, WCIU
QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) Maybe The Rios situation will explode and they have no choice but to get rid of him Yea good luck with that. I think me and Dick Allen were the only two who wanted to move him in the off-season since his value was high after his season. Got some hate towards it (cuz of his defense mostly and WAR at the time) so I didn't argue as much as Dick did.

And the mods wonder why this place has been a pure hyperbole, hating fest lately.. The sox play is bringing it out in alot of fans and I don't blame them. Something as horrid as Lillibridge's play there can really piss off a sox fan base. Thank god for 2005, cause I firmly believe about 50-60 posters at least would of been banned from this site.
