  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) I thought everyone wanted him sent down to the minors earlier? It's great what patience can bring isn't it I was backing not sending him down earlier in that thread. (give it another month I was saying back then) Not changing that now. Still wished he walked a bit more as he isn't as disciplined as he was when he was struggling (not to mention is striking out more too compared to last year), but hey the average (and the power recently) is rising so I won't complain. I want him no where near the 2 hole anymore especially on an Ozzie Guillen managed team. (though I never wanted him at the 2 spot earlier in the year as I wanted him hitting 3rd... now I'd say hit him 6th now and next season)
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) It happens to everyone. Heck Damon just rejected the Red Sox. The Yankees get rejected all of the time. Of course it does, but that wasn't what the original poster was saying. Damon it was obvious why he would reject. And for as many times as the Yanks get rejected, they sure do get alot of accepts as well.
  3. To their credit, Girardi has said before he would love to manage the Cubs (before he was the Yankee skipper), is a Naperville, IL native and I believe was a Cubs fan growing up. It isn't that unrealistic he would walk away from the Yanks to take on a challenge of not winning anything in 100+ years of a team he grew up rooting for. I would have to say though, the dollar figures have to be right however for him to leave, more-so than his roots.
  4. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) I just hope Morel isn't going to the Dodgers in return if it happens. I'm afraid of an overpay. Ditto, though I'm not concerned it'll be Morel however.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) omg lk wtf Knight is THE KING of O RLY?
  6. I was hoping they would put it outside on the other side of the building for the second greatest Bull ever. Ah well, won't complain.
  7. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Berkman has been a pathetic bust in NY BTW... It goes far beyond Berkman, Oswalt, (or even Peavy's first rejection) etc... though over the years.
  8. Nice start for Santiago. Had to pull a Tony Pena and start in one of the double headers.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) Coors Field up to her old tricks, Braves blow 10-1 4th inning lead, lose 12-10 QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) LOL, AT&T Park up to her old tricks as well. Reds were up 10-1 in the 5th, Giants now lead 11-10 after 8 Reds held on however. Shame cause that would have been the first time in MLB history two teams came back from 9 run defeatists on the same day.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 12:00 PM) lawl, now that I look at the caption of the thread again, it makes it sound like Greg is telling "the sabes people" to do his bidding. xD I gotta admit, I did like that little shot he gave to the saber people.
  11. Could totally see the Braves, Padres (if they want defense lost for offense) or the Tigers (out of spite to block/Rios thing last year) claiming him.
  12. QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 08:53 AM) Phegley,Infante, Carter, Mitchell, and 1 other. Makes sense. Sox love both their arms.
  13. QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 11:09 PM) He lost his control somewhere on the trip between Winston-Salem and Birmingham this summer. He was playing great. Now he couldn't find the plate with a GPS. Correct. Typically the A+ to AA jump is arguably the biggest to make. Dealing with more patient (and better overall) hitters is showing for Kyle. I expect him though to have a very good season next year for the Barons (and the Knights).
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) 2 out in the bottom of the 16th with the Astros up 2 and no one on, Polanco walks bringing the tying Run to the plate in the form of Chase Utley. Problem is; Roy Oswalt is on deck. Here comes the intentional walk to get to the pitcher, tough way to end this one. Yea. Grounded out to end the game. To his credit though, I am glad he actually hit the pitch.
  15. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) Honestly, I'd claim Napoli and Fuentes. If the sox org. wasn't so attached to A.J. (and need for LH hitting), I would love Naps. He's got having a great season (not his usual walk rate, more strikeouts than usual, lower average etc..) but his power is very real and is still only 28. This is a move you make more-so next year as your replacement for A.J. (also is still arb eligible till 2013) This is the guy Tyler Flowers is projected to be, though I would love to see Tyler get a shot at the minimum as well. (might not give you average, but much better OBP. I wanna see him pick it up alittle bit down the stretch for the Knights though to be sold) With all that being said however, the Angels probably won't deal him.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) I want to be the first to call bulls***. When the hell does Kenny's stuff go public to this extent? Either the Sox are trying to force someone to claim him ahead of them, or Kenny is trying to hide who he is really after. This is not like the KW administration at all. You must have been missing sox news this season. A ton of legit reports have been reported accurately, especially with The Club show out with the office news. (I.E. Dunn/Berkman rumors or near gets, Edwin Jackson trade BEFORE it was official, etc..) As bucket has said, Rosenthal has been money with his source as well.
  17. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) Im not going to search for threads but Im pretty sure the universal thought process on the board was that the high A team was going to be very good this season. Think people generally thought high of that team and to a lesser extent the AAA team of having succesful seasons. I've searched it more than once.. trust me unless they were saying it on pale hose, it wasn't the case. The AAA team more-so got the love, which I don't blame at all. (I thought they were going to be the second best) I was trying to drop this a while ago (seriously it isn't that serious) but NSS kept going, and I probably should of just brushed my shoulder off and walked away from responding.
  18. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) HAHAHA I don't know them personally ..watched Brady in Spring Training, but never met Hunt. Chase spent a lot of time with Hunt in W-S though so I heard plenty of stories ...Hunt is a lot like Chase, personality wise ...so actually a fight may not be out of the question for him! lol
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) You care way too much about predictions. I'm more anal about it dealing with prospects or our affiliates more-so than the sox team or other sports. But yes, wanna fight about it? (I predicted the Mariners to win the West this year... whoops)
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Well me, for one. And you just listed 6 other people. Don't remember you at all actually. And yes there wasn't a massive thread on it, more-so bits and pieces on certain ones. (couple on evaluation threads, couple on Ozzie Ball's bios on each affiliate, etc..)
  21. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Heidenreich is going up to Kannapolis after his next start in Bristol. He's not happy about it, was looking forward to only having one more start left in the season ..he says his arm hurts! Yikes. They are trying to build up his arm, but still.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 08:10 AM) You keep saying that, but everyone else said the same thing! I've already showed a link(s) of the predictions before. Show me a link where some also predicted them before the season started and I'll start believing you, but other than OB, Dan, myself, Bolt, and a couple others, there were no other predictions.
