I can't believe the Tigers actually pulled that one out. Thank god!!

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) s***, span 0-5. He has really fallen off the map this year. Still love the way he hits though.

Don Cooper. I'm the freaking genius. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) And Edwin will have to drastically outperform Hudson for this trade to be a net gain. Or at the very least re-sign with us. Hell I'll take what he's making now for two more years, I just don't wanna have a one more year and done from him (which bothers me more-so than the higher dough) unless KW trades him. (or trades for another pitcher) Best of luck to us talking with Scott Boras though.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) lol that's what I said. I said it first!!! QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Not sure why I'm still watching. I think we all know what's bound to happen. Not paying attention at all. Just waiting for a poster(s) to announce the Twins have won, followed by a bunch of f-bombs (and s-bombs) being thrown around with a nice side of hating the umps, Twin players/scouts, the Tigers team/Leyland, etc.. to go with it.
-
Boy the Tigers really do hate us for not folding and kicking their ass last season forcing that game 163.
-
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Those look like calls he made to bring attention to himself. He really holds a grudge against a team. The main thing that pisses me off about him. He IS an attention whore. Thinks he is better than the game. Kind of like NBA referee Dick Bavetta, but much worse.

Is this game on MLB network or something?

QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) It goes back to the meaning of "valuable". Personally if the final week of the season has zero meaning to your team, you should not be in the running for MVP. It was just amazing to me the freak numbers that man was putting up with no protection, lots of injuries, and that team as bad as they've been not to mention the respect he gets with his IBB. He was near triple crown status just a week ago. (I thought he was going to catch Josh in average, only Bautista and his freak year in homers is what Miggy probably would not catch) I would say now it's Hamiltons to lose, but now Konerko is more of an MVP candidate/runner up than Cabrera.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Ok. Second time you've said this now. Are you basing this opinion entirely on the numbers he is putting up as a 21 year old in rookie ball, or is there some glowing scouting report that I've missed? Alittle bit of both, more-so how weak our catching crop is and remember the last time I said "just a hunch" so I'm betting he hits very well next season moving up. I'm a big fan of Miguel though, and I'm not sold at all on Phegley. So yes Jeff, get your Vegas money ready when were betting. -
Typical Twins-like game for us as sox fans. They either get the lead, somehow the other team ties it, then they win it in the 9th/extras or the other team is leading, and the Twins come back late to win it. Not holding my breath on the Tigers winning this one, but I'll stay optimistic. Hey, maybe they are paying us back when we beat them to force a game 163 against the Twins last season. Miggy was my MVP a week ago (sorry Josh, he was beating you in every statistical category minus average, teams be damned). Now, he is quickly costing himself that award in my eyes at least.

Watch out for guys like Micheal Blanke and as mentioned Saladino in a couple years. Tyler is one of my favorite prospects currently in Kanny and IMO, Blanke will probably be the sox best catching prospect (no matter what happens to Flowers) next season. I'm biased toward a couple of prospects who I've seen play before and or who I've met personally (Dan Black for example) that I'm alittle blind to hope they can succeed/be good. I call it, the Jeremy Reed effect. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) Isn't Bay recovering from a concussion? Geez, whats up with these Canadians and their concussions? Joey Votto better be on watch patrol.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) This game will not exist. Would you like to make a guarantee on that?

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 01:59 PM) 103.9 last night according to pitch f/x, sitting at 102.1 That's legit. Don't have to hear some of the usual posters "ol' that gun was 100% jacked up/gun is probably 5 mph too fast" as usual.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) Infante has a chance to be next years Santos with his fastball. So could Anthony Carter. (who will pitch in the AFL) Not quite ready to pencil him yet either. -

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) I'd let him break down before I'd even consider moving him to the 'pen. If he shows that his body can't handle 200 innings a year, then, and only then, would I would move him to the bullpen. Agreed. You don't draft a kid that high (top 15) only to turn him into a reliever. Most relievers failed as starting pitchers anyway. Let him start, and if he isn't good/injury prone/only a couple good pitches in arsenal/can't handle the workload, etc., then make the move. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Antti Niemi signs a one year, $2 million deal with the San Jose Sharks Wow. Same GM that offer sheeted Hjalmarsson, lands Niemi.
-
Michael Blanke. Ima predict that kid will be our best catching prospect next season. (no matter what happens to Flowers and I know a couple here love Miguel Gonzalez, as do I. Just a hunch..)
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Brandon Allen hit a go-ahead Grand Slam and has made some nifty plays in LF today for AZ. I saw that play where he ran to the wall and jumped into it. And yes, as Caulfield said, he was playing LF. Incredible athleticism. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Nyjer Morgan acting like an absolute piece of crap lately. What the hell is wrong with him? He's been Elijah Dukes like crazy on the field lately.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) AJ has shown zero interest so far in teaching anything to any potential replacement. He doesn't need to ''teach him'' as far as talking to him. Tyler has eyes or he could look at tape. (pitch calls, diffrent situations, etc.)

I want Flowers learning as much as possible the last month in a pennant race from A.J./Castro.
