  1. Happy B-Day. Andy bring your black ass (Cartman reference) to Chicago, we gotta get smashed bro.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Boo Mark Kotsay and Boo no Morel. Ya I was hoping Ozzie would give the kid another day to play, since he was solid last night.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Westbrook is the most athletic guard on the planet right now. Rose is the better athlete as far as PGs. But Westbrook has the better tools (vision, passing, awareness) for the PG position.
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Cant believe you are still patting yourself on the back over something most thought was going to happen. I still can't believe it's getting to you. Makes me proud of NSS though for not caring anymore. (And BTW, show me those post besides me and another poster who had W-S as our best affiliate this season when most were picking the Knights, I'm still waiting)
  5. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 03:19 AM) Name a prospect that has come back to bite them in the ass. I'm waiting. You seriously misunderstood what J4L was saying. And I'll add to Real's Gio and say Chris Young this year hasn't been too bad (.266/.345/.467/.812, 20/20 player, 4.4 WAR, 5.9 UZR) and this is comming from someone who was not a fan of Young as a prospect when he was here.
  6. This question reminds me what Ranger fans/org wanted McCarthy to do. (to throw harder, avoid more injury risk) The kid then adds about 10-15 pounds of muscle in the off-season.. and is now even more injury prone than he was before (I believe he had surgery on his shoulder a while back). Adding bulk doesn't add velocity. Hell the two players you named are actually relatively skinny guys. (Pedro Martinez was a tiny f***er as well) Thats like saying Sabathia/Broxton should lose weight so maybe they can touch 100+ instead of 95+. It's pure god given talent. Either you have it, or you don't. There were guys in high school I played with that threw much harder than I did and they were very thin guys. There was also a fat guy who touched the mid/high 80s on my team as well. I'm sure there are many guys in the minors now that wished they could hit at least the mid 90s. (especially if their other stuff/repertoire is already fringe or average) Chris Sale is obviously very fortunate he has an arm like that. (how fortunate with his delivery though.. we'll see in time)
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) And our GM is Kenny Williams. They'll both be with other organizations this time next year. Haha.. sometimes I think you keep it TOO real for this site.
  8. And my Cinderella pick continues to thrive. They won again tonight. Have yourself a night Jon Gilmore.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Pierre LF Ramirez SS Rios CF Konerko 1B Manny DH Pierzynski C Quentin RF Beckham 2B Morel 3B Buehrle P Wow.. Pretty happy I'll get to see him tonight. (missed his debut) Haven't seen him hit since college.
  10. Not a Chris Brown fan really, but has anyone heard his new stuff/mix tapes? Not bad at all to be honest.
  11. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) Sure. Hey don't believe me. Most of the older posters here can back me up. They all know of the name "Dougly."
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Chastity isn't a lifestyle or a choice, Ace. Don't judge me....
  13. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) It doesn't get scary until 25, then you realize that next is 26, then 27 and so on. Why do you have a picture of yourself when you were 13 on your profile? That ugly sack of crap is NOT me. It's actually a guy (friend) who used to post here before he got banned. I have his pic up in memory.
  14. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 12:13 PM) Savor it, it doesn't last. I know... I'm turning 24 in a month.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 09:03 AM) Single and ready to mingle? Thanks for making me feel young again This. also. for. me. (mine is by choice however. )
  16. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) Also, this is Manny's first home game, right? I'm actually interested to see/hear if there will be any boos from some of the sox faithful.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 03:25 AM) First of all, there's no way that KW should trade Pierre unless we have ANOTHER option for leadoff, and Mitchell's probably 18 months away...and, at this point, we're far from certain if he can be an ideal leadoff hitter. Maybe. Is there a more overrated category (as far as hitters) in baseball?
  18. Well the defending champs are off to a nice start.
  19. I'd be very, very careful with evaluating Vizquel. I still think he is having a fluke year offensively at his age, especially when he was putting up .243/.301/.308/.608 combined from 07-09. If we are bringing him back for his glove, sure, but I fear Ozzie will give him more at-bats (again) than he is worth similar to what he did with Kotsay after his sample size 09 season. I honestly would look to trade Pierre as well which is a good sell high with him. His OBP is inflated this season with his 18 HBP. (twice as many than he's ever had in his career in a season, i.e. he had 10 with the Rockies 9 years ago) I also hate his game, so perhaps that is my hatred talking, though I have nothing to say about him this year with us luckily. I didn't even mention the bullpen either.. KW has alot of work to do, no doubt and he and the front office (not Ozzie) has to make his smart decisions. And if there is one guy I hope is not brought back, and we get a much better hitter/OBP guy.. it's A.J. (not getting VMart, I don't believe, we'll see with KW) and I'd give Konerko only 2 years max. (though he definitely won't duplicate the season he had this year, and I'm sure the F.O. knows it.) Theres gonna be alot of 1B to sell low on, it's up to the F.O. if they want to gamble on that and get more established hitters elsewhere in different positions.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) Morel is gonna be fine, kid is in the middle of the pennant race, a bit shaky at first. Probably won't see any action the rest of the season however. (Unless the Twins put the sox out of their misery early on with some games to spare, though I still think Ozzie plays the vets for "pride")
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) Honestly, if I were the Bulls and I could get Anthony for Noah + Deng, and do so without giving up Gibson such that I at least had someone to play C this year, I don't see how I could say no. Obviously, he would not be the hold up. Noah is a fine player, but it's easier to replace him than it is to acquire a Melo type talent. Taj Gibson would not hold me up either. Derrick Rose becomes the second option. That is incredible to think about. Rose-Brewer-Melo-Boozer-Przybilla type big man (maybe add him to a Rudy Fernandez trade), you have a fighting chance against Miami.
