ALDS: Twins vs. Yankees
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) The yanks are the anti-sox facing the twins. Crain comes in, and instead of sitting 3 down in a row he gets knocked out of the game on a freaking moon shot. The Twins are pretty much the sox in that way. Their players were praising the Yankees players and their organization before the series started, and when they take a lead, it's like they stop and say "Oh s***, this is the Yankees, how are we winning" and pretty much blow chunks afterwards. This series ain't over yet, but once again in this game, the Twins are proving they are the Yankees' b****.

Roy Halladay throws a no-hitter versus Cincy in Game 1 of the NLDS
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) This is still the 2nd one in postseason history. It's a big deal. Preach. I was stunned. That poster that said the Phils are sweepin so far looks like a genius if Oswalt and Hamels can give at least 1/4th of that performance comming up in this series.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Cheap, maybe. Stupid, no. They have been the most successful franchise the past decade. They know what they are doing. No kidding. Hell they pawned Moss off for a 4th rounder a few years back in the first place. Wouldn't surprise me if they could net a 3rd-4th rounder for him. Their personnel is one of the smartest in the game.

ALDS: Rays vs. Rangers
I like the report from Hamilton on what could have been in Tampa. He, Baldelli and Crawford was suppose to be the young, sick outfield of the future for that franchise.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
This is why I think the Bulls could use another shooter. Korver is a stud (and even JJ surprised when he was playing smart) but Watson is below average, Bogans isn't really a shooter and Brewer, when he comes back, is bad from out there. Deng did surprise me. If he can hit around a 37% clip or so from downtown, the Bulls will be in better shape in the half court when Booz gets back as a low post/pick and pop and Brewer off screens and in transition in the open court with his athleticism, so Rose can operate.

If the Sox don't re-sign Konerko...
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) Yikes. When the hell did this happen? I think 3 years ago. It was a big rumor for a while (I think it came out of Alba's mouth herself). *I'll leave that for the "pun" posters* Google it.

If the Sox don't re-sign Konerko...
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) And has there even been a wiff of off the field controversy with him? If there has been I don't remember. Breaking up with Mariah Carey? Other than giving Jessica Alba herpes, no.

Rick Hahn
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) He's known as one of the best negotiators in all of baseball. He handles a lot of the contract work, as KW stays out of it. Saber guy as well.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Asiata was undrafted and every team makes bad picks but it is absolutely mindboggling how much Angelo has ignored the OL. That's the thing. I don't think anyone here would have problems with those picks if he addressed the O-Line before-hand (draft, FA, trades, whatever) but he didn't. The time he made some of those picks, thats when the O-Line was really struggling, then he continued to ignore it, until the O-Line got stupid bad. I liked the Williams pick, still like him. Omiyale I was never a fan of (there is a reason he was "inactive" twice all 16 games with the Falcons and the Panthers) and Garza is average. Even Olin Kreutz at this stage in his career looks pretty bad.

2010-2011 NHL thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Morin sent down to Rockford today. I wonder if Campbell's injury and the need for blue line depth played a part in the decision. I don't think so since he was a forward. I think 19 year old Nick Leddy has all but made the team in defense, while Soupy is gone. I think they want to see what they have in Stalberg/Skille and then go from there.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) And then the we have Edwin Williams an undrafted free agent and Webb a 7th round pick. I would be shocked if those guys ever become starting caliber OL. Wasn't Asiata undrafted as well? Yikes.. Louis as a 7th rounder. Meanwhile we have made glorious picks in Bazuin, Okpo, Gilbert (though I still like him in a 3-4 defense) Melton (still has time), Wolfe, Dvoracek, Harriott, Currie, Joe, Iglesias, etc.. etc..

Name Change? Anything else needed?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) I know you ain't talkin'. I knew someone would respond. I will change it if/when Reed is released/traded. If he is still with the Knights next year, I will keep the name.

QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) Okay. I am ready to go back to shipps. So if one of the admins/mods could do that it would be just grand. I can't because I am posting from my phone. Thank god.

SOXTALK'S BOLD PREDICTIONS
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Completely wrong with absolutely everything Yikes, by far the worst predictions I've ever made. Even the Juan Pierre thing was wrong, I still hate him as much as I did when we acquired him. I'll do better next year I promise. Either that, or I'll stick to prospect predictions/evaluations.

How many games will this team win in 2010?
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) 89. Even though our offense sucks, our pitching is too good. (not to mention we are in a s***ty division) So I guess I'm in the 87-91 mark. I was one off.

Who are you backing and why.
Since the Rockies didn't make it, I don't really care either. But if you had to put a gun to my head, I'd pick the Giants cause of the drought and the Braves cause I wanna see Bobby Cox go out in style. What a terrific managerial career he's had.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) What an ugly game. This is the Bears I was expecting all season tho. If Cutler comes out 2nd half they still had a shot to win it tho. Thats the only thing optimistic about the game. As bad as the Bears were, their defense kept them in it for the majority of the game.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
They should had used Hanie much earlier than they did. I was hollering for it even before the Collins pick. Giants front is too athletic and with a weak O-Line, you need an athletic QB back there.

Getting Pumped for 2011!
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) I am not disappointed in how the Sox performed, because I don't think anybody here could have expected 88 wins from this team in March, but it would have been nice to beat the Twins 2-3 more times. Which reminds me.. someone should bump that wins prediction thread. I think some people actually got the 88 win total right.

I hope the Padres win today. So far they are losing, but I would love to see a three way tie between Atlanta, SF and SD and those teams battling it out.

And this is why the Bulls didn't wanna give up Taj Gibson. Bulls will be fine at the beginning.
