  1. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) The Colts still get that label. Just read the Indy Star. Despite that, division crowns are meaningless these days if a World Series is not involved with it. I'll remind Peyton Manning he is still being called a playoff choker, who can't get out of the first round then.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) The Twins need to get it over with and just win the WS. If they faceplant again in the playoffs, it'll be the same scenario again next season. You are right. They will roll to the title again with Nathan and Morneau. They don't have the starting pitching, which has been their problem for years. Sure they've had a good #1 or good potential #1 like Santana and currently Liriano, but afterwards, the level falls off alot. (and the Yankees owning their soul doesn't help either) Pavano is having a fluke year, so I'm sure that will carry over though (he has pitched well in the postseason before, though limited) and Blackburn is having horrid luck/year so that evens out a bit. This might be their best chance this year however. Liriano-Pavano-Slowey-Baker aint bad to throw out there. Their offense has never been this good, and this is without Morneau. If Nathan was healthy (we'll see how Capps performs in the post season) I would love their chances actually.
  3. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) Really? In today's world of modern sports, winning it all goes farther than winning divisions. They have a label for teams that only win divisions. For example:Colts have been labeled the "Atlanta Braves of the NFL". When you only win divisions, you get labeled "the Atlanta Braves". So the Twins are the Atlanta Brave of the AL. Ya... it's not like the Braves or the Colts have won the World Series or the Super Bowl respectively before with those divisional wins or anything.. oh wait....
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Gardenhire has done a brilliant job with that team considering the injuries. Just that game, he should be the manager of the year, not Washington. I'm sure Ron will win it though.

Ciolli going nuts so far in his short stint in W-S.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) Sorry, I don't actually mean this. I just found that gif and had to use it. :headbang
  7. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) Does that mean Hossa is in the clear? I hope so Yes. Everything is fine.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Or just go out and drink I was actually thinking about this one. Kinda broke though.
  9. No sox baseball.. Good to hear some players banged up will get another day of rest however. Now I gotta find what the hell is good on T.V. tonight.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:01 AM) I figured you'd pick Manny. Bobby. Fixed.
  11. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:08 AM) Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Their shadows searching in the ni-i-ight. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) People living just to find emotion. :lolhitting
  12. I can't believe the Tigers actually pulled that one out. Thank god!!
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) s***, span 0-5. He has really fallen off the map this year. Still love the way he hits though.
  14. Don Cooper. I'm the freaking genius.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) And Edwin will have to drastically outperform Hudson for this trade to be a net gain. Or at the very least re-sign with us. Hell I'll take what he's making now for two more years, I just don't wanna have a one more year and done from him (which bothers me more-so than the higher dough) unless KW trades him. (or trades for another pitcher) Best of luck to us talking with Scott Boras though.
  16. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) lol that's what I said. I said it first!!! QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Not sure why I'm still watching. I think we all know what's bound to happen. Not paying attention at all. Just waiting for a poster(s) to announce the Twins have won, followed by a bunch of f-bombs (and s-bombs) being thrown around with a nice side of hating the umps, Twin players/scouts, the Tigers team/Leyland, etc.. to go with it.
  17. Boy the Tigers really do hate us for not folding and kicking their ass last season forcing that game 163.
  18. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Those look like calls he made to bring attention to himself. He really holds a grudge against a team. The main thing that pisses me off about him. He IS an attention whore. Thinks he is better than the game. Kind of like NBA referee Dick Bavetta, but much worse.
  19. Is this game on MLB network or something?
  20. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) It goes back to the meaning of "valuable". Personally if the final week of the season has zero meaning to your team, you should not be in the running for MVP. It was just amazing to me the freak numbers that man was putting up with no protection, lots of injuries, and that team as bad as they've been not to mention the respect he gets with his IBB. He was near triple crown status just a week ago. (I thought he was going to catch Josh in average, only Bautista and his freak year in homers is what Miggy probably would not catch) I would say now it's Hamiltons to lose, but now Konerko is more of an MVP candidate/runner up than Cabrera.
  21. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Ok. Second time you've said this now. Are you basing this opinion entirely on the numbers he is putting up as a 21 year old in rookie ball, or is there some glowing scouting report that I've missed? Alittle bit of both, more-so how weak our catching crop is and remember the last time I said "just a hunch" so I'm betting he hits very well next season moving up. I'm a big fan of Miguel though, and I'm not sold at all on Phegley. So yes Jeff, get your Vegas money ready when were betting.
  22. Typical Twins-like game for us as sox fans. They either get the lead, somehow the other team ties it, then they win it in the 9th/extras or the other team is leading, and the Twins come back late to win it. Not holding my breath on the Tigers winning this one, but I'll stay optimistic. Hey, maybe they are paying us back when we beat them to force a game 163 against the Twins last season. Miggy was my MVP a week ago (sorry Josh, he was beating you in every statistical category minus average, teams be damned). Now, he is quickly costing himself that award in my eyes at least.
  23. Watch out for guys like Micheal Blanke and as mentioned Saladino in a couple years. Tyler is one of my favorite prospects currently in Kanny and IMO, Blanke will probably be the sox best catching prospect (no matter what happens to Flowers) next season. I'm biased toward a couple of prospects who I've seen play before and or who I've met personally (Dan Black for example) that I'm alittle blind to hope they can succeed/be good. I call it, the Jeremy Reed effect.
