  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) Jeez, people really don't like Mark Teahen. He'd be an upgrade over Mark Kotsay. He is quickly reaching Nick Swisher-like hate... sadly.
  2. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) Technically you could be in here for thinking Jeremy Reed is better then Babe Ruth. Reed is GOD. yes you can add me to the list.
  3. Alexei's UZR is rising faster than J4L's penis for the love of young players in baseball.
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) I remember this one guy that said there was NO f***ING WAY Lebron was going to Miami. :lolhitting QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) http://www.northsidebaseball.com/ We got alot of wins on this thread.
  5. Add Magic Johnson to the list calling out LeBron and Bosh. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5395989 BTW... Another deadly sniper might have just hit the trade market. Kapono getting shopped.
  6. QUOTE (onedude @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 10:39 PM)
  7. Bradley Salgado is 0-22 to start his professional career... ouch.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) Anyone want to give odds on Sandberg being his replacement? I think it'll be between him and Bob Brenly. I'll miss Lou. Hasn't been the fiery guy he was though with the Reds/Seattle/first couple Cub years. He finished 1st, 1st, 2nd, and now 4th on the Cubs as manager. Nobody has had that level of success for the Cubs as manager since Charlie Grimm in 1933-1938. Ricketts better realize that they need to get rid of Hendry. I can't believe he is still guaranteed a job next season.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 11:09 PM) The Bulls can actually run Rose plays when Watson is in the lineup. Watson has good handles and a nice jumpshot. I would think they would run more plays for Watson at the 2 than Rose, even undersized. Don't need to hamper Derrick's development there. But I agree with ya. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) Well, you can't accuse the Bulls of not being deep enough. And they still have enough cash to add another decent guy or two. Definitely. Give me one more center and one more sniper (maybe Mason Jr. unless the Bulls feel Watson, Deng, improved Rose etc.. is good enough), and I'll be content with the off-season.
  10. Flowers still isn't hitting in average but has 10 BBs in his last 6 games.
  11. Outstanding move. He or Dooling I was advocating for a while as a backup PG. Like Watson. Very young player still. Probably one of the better defensive players on Golden State (though that isn't saying much) who plays the passing lanes very well. Solid free throw shooter as well, good rebounder for his size, but is inconsistent from beyond the arc. All in all, solid move.
  12. I'll be on around 10 if anyone is going on tonight.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) I find it funnier that Ace brought up those 3 when looking at relievers you should draft (because most failed starters becomes relievers) yet all 3 were failed starters. The winding circle of a pitcher, though you are really cherry picking 10 starts in a rookie year for Rivera. And Eckersley was not a failed starter. Next time though, I'll just say/add Hoffman and Wagner to the other guys mentioned who have never started in the bigs to prove my point. (though it should of been well taken... god damn Blake...)
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) Ozzie, you've never heard of Dennis Tankersley? Great reliever for the A's? He was on the teams with the bash brothers, Mark Miller and Jose Cantu. Naw I caught it. I spelled Eck's name wrong.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) The Club crew is in Charlotte this week to focus on Chris Sale, Tyler Flowers, and Brent Morel. Damn.. what a diss that is to the stud known as Jordan Danks.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) 2.30 ERA at Safeco, 5.74 ERA on the road. A fastball that doesn't reach 90. A BABIP of .268. K/9 less than 5. Terrible in 3 of his 4 starts since coming back from injury (and surprise, surprise, the only outing he didn't suck in was his outing at Safeco). Fister is no better than a league average pitcher who has been aided by pitching in one of the most pitcher friendly environments in all of baseball. But hey.. according to chw42.. you can't ignore the numbers! (sorry chw, had to do it buddy)
  17. Man.. that was a nice way of saying he was a terrible pick. I've never been a fan of drafting relievers in the first 5 rounds (hell even 10 and you wouldn't hear me complaining) in the draft. Always thought that was suicide to a scouts' career unless the guy better be the next Eckersley/Rivera/steroid up Gagne. Most pitchers drafted become relievers anyway when they might fail as a starting pitcher later on.
  18. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 01:40 AM) Care to name "everybody"? LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Barry Bonds......? And that's LeBron and Wade NEWLY added to everyone's "hate" list.. and the only reason they are there is because.. 1. Bulls fans who are upset LeBron didn't pick Chicago 2. Basketball fans who are upset that the Heat will be the best team in the league for the foreseeable future Like I give a s*** what the people on this board think of me or my posts, I only like maybe 5 people out of the thousands that post here.. so no, its not to just get a rise out of everyone.. I mean what I say 100% I love everybody that people hate because they are usually the best.. I.E. LeBron, Bonds, Etc. So anyways, who else do I love that everyone hates? Alright since this is so typical of you, I'll play along Carl. Miami Dolphins Willy Tavares CM Punk (though there might be a couple of posters who like him too that I've missed) Billy Koch Terrell Owens (correct me if I'm wrong if that was you or someone else) Phillip Rivers (that was the guy I might have been thinking of we agree on as well, though I'm sure people might love him cause of their little fantasy league, but hate the "prick" as he's often called here) That is just off the top of my head at 4:30 in the morning. I can probably put a better list up tomorrow when I'm not half asleep. (I don't have admin powers either to just look up these thing in 2.5 seconds) And your other point is blatantly false. Go back to the middle pages and you'll see many people here hated LeBron before the whole FA thing happened. In fact, I believe a poster here didn't even want him here because of his antics and was seriously called out by other posters here. Add "the decision" on top of that and you got yourself a grade A POS. Would people like him if he came to Chicago? Sure, but that still doesn't change the fact that he probably still gets ripped on but probably has the "well.. he's our douche now" card. He would have been "tolerable" than "loved" I can promise you that. Now D-Wade on the other hand, was more mixed. (more-so his "loyalty" comments put every Bulls fan away from him, hating the guy) After those comments, everyone then hated him and how he basically lured the other two there. I actually liked Wade way more than LeBron prior to FA FYI. I don't have a problem with Wade still (hell I give him props for banging Gabrielle Union) but obviously he can be a dick. I still don't mind Wade, but hates how he handles himself off the court. On the court however, he is a beast and pretty professional for the most part. And I know damn well I better be 1 of the 5 or your black ass is dead to me. BTW, I'll say my bad by saying "everybody" which I also was thinking other "discussions" that most don't agree with what you've said in the past with certain issues. (golf not being a sport, hating soccer, etc..) Should have worded it a bit differently.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 11:22 PM) We need a RF. Quentin looks like he hurts himself running now. He is just too injury prone, and not that good defensively in the first place to be out there everyday, and he would greatly benefit from being a full time DH. Naw, Kalapse won't be convinced until "Quentin tears an ACL or something" to be declared injury prone.
  20. I will still never understand why Bobby (and the sox brass) felt he needed to be a "true pitcher." He is a closer. This dude has like 6 god damn pitches in his arsenal, that most of the time, aren't needed. Most closers in the game have 2, maybe 3 solid/good/great pitches to get guys out with. (unless your name is Mariano, but he is a freak) He would have been perfectly fine (probably one of the best in the game) if he was still throwing 98+ with that 12 to 6 curve. And if he really wanted to add a third pitch, a change-up would be been more than good enough. You don't need a cutter, slider, sinker, etc.. in your arsenal as a closer. Mariano Rivera throws 1 pitch 9.5 out of 10 times and gets hitters out even when they know it's comming. Billy Wagner had a 99+ mph fastball he threw 8 out of 10 times and a slider. Trevor Hoffman, in his prime, had a 96+ mph fastball and one of the best change-ups this game has ever seen, and when he got old, he had a 85-87 mph fastball and one of the best change-ups this game has ever seen.
  21. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 9:22 PM) That is why he is the GOAT. That was Larry Bird's quote four days ago. This is what these guys the greatest. They would rather beat you then join you. Hell even Kobe has that in him which is why his name is in that discussion as well. (besides the rings) Look at his situation about three years back. He wasn't happy with LA and felt they couldn't put the pieces to win. But did Kobe say hey trade me to Cleveland with LBJ or Miami with Wade? No. He wanted to go to a team with nice pieces, but a place where it was still his team. Where he was still "the man."
  22. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) I still love them both You love everybody that people hate. Don't know if that is coincidence, or you just enjoy getting a rise out of people. I believe the only guy you and me always agree on loving is Barry Bonds. (might be one more guy, but I can't remember)
  23. Here are the rest of the box scores since Joe did such a terrible job putting them up. I'll post all the starters performances and one position prospect performance.
