QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) I watch far too many movies... You just now started to figure that out? You and BobDylan should really be butt buddies.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Speaking of Alex Gordon though... I know I'm not the only one who would be freaking excited to see us trade for him. Not at all. Been discussed a couple of times actually. Both links up.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:14 PM) Greg, let me introduce you to the principle of Occam's razor. Feliz is a pitcher who has some odd splits. Lefties only hit .106 against him, and have a terrible .313 OPS against him. Righties on the other side hit .293 with a .868 OPS. So if lefties are basically automatic outs, and righties hit him pretty well. Which one exactly would you rather have up there. Now thats before we add the 43 year old slow bat of light hitting Omar Vizquel who is already questioning if he should retire at the end of the season. Now if you can't see that was a poor matchup then I don't know how to help you. Oh man this is an outstanding post! :notworthy -
QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) Yeah his spinning slap finisher is devastating.. Anyways, hes never going anywhere.. they are better of using people like The Miz for building there.. I just cant stand R Truth Ask Dibiase how devastating it is (and yes I know that wasn't his finisher, and he didn't spin, but still slapped the man into a concussion) I don't mind R-Truth at all.. haters gonna hate on any wrestler though, same with myself.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Bad economy, bad team, and a good hockey club can do that I guess. I'm a bit surprised by that though, however they have been doing a lot more ticket advertising this year I've noticed. Maybe even some of their fans have a breaking point. This. Though they still rock out Cubs hats at bars, most Cub fans (and sox fans) are all about the Hawks right now (though it has been like this for a couple of months now). wsf101 is 100% correct on this post.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) The 2009 draft is cursed, they've been getting injured in the order they were drafted. Who was the 3rd round pick? Trayce was actually the third pick (though in the 2nd round I believe) in the draft. Mitchell and Phegley (both also out, though Phegley's situation is different) Up next after Trayce was Holmberg.... god help us.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) And why are you second guessers ignoring the Lexi at bat?? Don't just skip over that one and go to Omar. Why is Lexi being skipped over here? Because it's easy to point to .... oooh Ozzie didn't pinch hit for Omar. Alexei can hit high velocity fastballs, and is a better hitter right now than the old man Vizquel. Hell many of us ripped Alexei for swinging at the first pitch if you didn't see. But I'm sure noone has no problem seeing a fastball hitter (with POWER) hit there. -

I would say the good news is that A.J. looked very good putting on alittle show for Texas. (you know.. the team that was looking to trade for him) -
Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?

I've said it was over for a while now. In fact, I'll commend my boy J4L once again for still believing in this team longer than most posters. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) No idea, but Melton was absolutely ripping him in the pregame. Saying that he hasn't cut down his swing like the organization wants him to. They said you can't have a player like that in your lineup unless he's surrounded by the '27 Yankees. It was very strange, and you've seen him sitting a ton lately. Just pisses me off with this org. We can add him to the change Flowers swing and change Jordan Danks' follow-thru. I wouldn't be surprised if they have had Beckham change something early. Makes no sense for a veteran player especially to change his swing. It's weird seeing this from us as we are usually very cuddle-like to hall of fame players. -

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) Omar was 1 for 13 on the year against power pitchers going into that AB. His bat speed is absolute s*** at this point in his career, he has little chance against a pitcher with a good fastball or a hard biting slider. This. He looked good against 90 mph Harden and 87 mph O'Day that is for sure. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) You put in a guy who will work an at-bat and has extra-base potential. That guy isn't Omar Vizquel. Not to mention has some resemblance of power. Hell I wouldn't have been upset seeing Nix up there in that situation. -

For all the Walker hate (some very deserving, especially with Beckham and Quentin) but Cooper has been just as bad with some of these guys. (you know.. the greatest rotation on earth, only Danks has been good, Garcia average) He needs to get some accountability too. -

There is Feliz's Carlos Marmol syndrome. Alexei is a great fastball hitter too. -

You can't help but watch a young kid like Feliz pitch (and Andrus play SS). I don't think I've ever been so giddy watching a sox game. -

Feliz's stuff is unreal, but he does have Carlos Marmol syndrome of walking guys. Once he is a bit more consistent in the strike zone, he'll be a stellar closer just like Marmol. -

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) He does have a nice wrister though...if he scores that's usually how he does it. He's rarely in a shooting lane though. He was a former 1st round pick for a reason (overdraft or not). I would say he is pretty much a bust now, but the guy does flash some talent. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) I think your tin foil hat is on a little too tight. Sure, there has been, but to assume or even bring it up for any random case is pointless. Not to mention I highly, highly doubt many people have even heard of Tyreke Evans, in fact.. I would bet other than true basketball fans, a common guy/fan wouldn't know who the hell he is.

If there is one thing I won't complain about Pierre, it is his defense. He has been stellar out there.
