Catch All Anything Thread
QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 02:42 AM) I honestly don't know how I would handle that if it happened to me.. You would probably start with a "Oh Nooooo!" That voice and everything.

2010 Minor League Catch-All Thread
I'm glad Wes is getting a chance somewhere else. Obviously he was an overdraft, but the guy showed alittle something at times. He will benefit moving to the NL and to another org. even as alittle bit of a thought. (as he wasn't a thought here)

Kenny Williams for GM of the Year
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) The Tigers, Nationals and Indians swept the Pirates right before we did. If we're going to throw a parade, we better get in line. They are now almost as bad as the Orioles. O's fans might have to hold off that Anthony Rendon parade. I can't see the O's being nearly as bad as the Bucos, especially with the Bucos calling up their prospects who will have growing pains. Might be good for them in the long run to as they can stick Pedro Alvarez at 1B. They do need pitching though.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Who's Sharapova with? That guy who knocked down the 2 clutch free throws with 13 seconds left to help win the title for the Lakers.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Yes...she looks awful tonight. She usually looks better. Much better than that... don't think Kobe was even close to right for cheating on her Carl.

I now don't see Phil Jackson leaving after winning another title. He could retire a champion, but I just don't see him doing that.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) There has never been a superstar who did less to earn a title in the NBA finals than Kobe this year. He sucked. Ron Artest was the f***ing man tonight. He WANTED it more than anyone on the court on both sides. Gasol was good too as well. Vujacic's free throws were clutch as hell too. I'm sure Boston will re-sign Allen, but who knows how they will be without Tibodeau's constant break down of offenses, not to mention their age minus a couple of guys. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:58 PM) BTW, Lebron>Kobe as a player and it really isn't that close. Agreed completely. And he still is JUST 25. Crazy... though he has been here since he was 18, but still has ALOT of good years left.

Another 20-21 year old kid comming up joing Heyward, Stanton, etc.. (though not the same caliber as a prospect, but still a very impressive looking young prospect Viciedo is) Alexei should be happy too.

I hate LeBron as an immature, classless prick/person, but you have to love what he does as a player. Just a joy to watch on the court. HA SUCK IT BOSTON! :headbang Ugh.... Kobe with 5 rings now.

Wow Rondo puts up a clutch/lucky three pointer, then makes a mistake by not fouling Kobe wasting valuable seconds off the clock. Kobe is not Ray Allen at the line. I understand trying to go for the steal, but not when your down 2 with 16 seconds left.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) I like how Gasol can just throw Rondo out of the way for that rebound.. geez I usually would be pissed to see that too, especially to a PG, but since it's Rondo... I just laugh.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Wow Dennis Rod....er.... Ron Artest came to play tonight. I would still like to point out Ron Artest has come to play tonight. That guy wants a ring badly. And now Allen decides to show up last here.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) Morel playing SS again etc. He'll be back at 3B with Viciedo's promotion. Gilmore's hitting streak continues.

I'm gonna hate the Kobe/MJ comparisons from people (especially if he gets 5 rings now) but I hate Rondo and Boston so much, I can care less about it. Allen might be gone, Thibs is comming here, etc... I hope Boston falls and stays down.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX SWEEP!!!
I feel sorry for the Bucos. Hopefully they can get some help in the pitching with their drafting and get their core guys like Alvarez, Walker, Tabata etc.. to help McCutchen with the offense. Sox did what they had to do. If they only lose 1-2 games from here on out (only betting loss I possibly see is against Strasburg unless the Nats pen remembers they suck) on this NL stretch they might be worth keeping an eye on again, but the Twins and Tigers gotta lose too.

¡Viva la Revolución!
Wow! Totally unexpected. I seriously hope he gets alot of ABs. Could also help out with our non rotating DH idea for him as well. (also play some 3B with his cannon of an arm, though he will make mistakes too) Hudson and Viciedo?! I dunno if Huddy will even start, but the sox are gonna be really fun to watch with the young guys comming up. J4L... get excited another young prospect is being called up.... this time by us!

2010-2011 NHL thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Hawks signed some Swedish center Niklas Perrson from the KHL. Based on what I read, probably Madden's replacement. Good defensive player. http://www.hockeyforum.com/hockey-trades-r...blackhawks.html They also signed 24 year old Mathis Olimb (who was on the Swedish olympic team) to a one year deal who was compared to a Swedish Versteeg. (maybe alittle poorer version) Hjalmarsson has some Swedish countrymen on his team (well... more after Johnsson had his cup of tea here) if he re-signs next season.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) All signs point to Peavy going to the DL Was thinking the same thing.. just didn't want to post it quite yet unless I was sure of it. Either that or Lillibridge will be gone back down. (which I can't see happening with the lack of depth behind the injured Teahen)

2010-2011 NHL thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 02:29 PM) I would deal Sharp and Versteeg for the first pick (Even enough?). Save cap room and pick up a stud like Hall or Seguin. I mean they are going to have to trade away some big talent, so why not bring back one as well. That would speed up their rebuilding process as well. Hall-Toews-Kane..... might be the sickest young top line in the NHL if that ever happens. (not sold on Beach but someone here might know or like him more)
