  1. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Agreed... While I'm very happy the Hawks won and I've always at least semi-followed the Hawks (see how they're faring, play as them in video games, etc), I would never try to say I'm a legit fan. Not like I am with the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox... So I'm very happy for you true fans. It's been a long time coming and you've put up with a lot over the years. ^^^^^^^^^ Seriously this. As a new follower since Kane and Toews were drafted (though always announced that) it is good to see guys here who were following them since the dark times and beyond that see history. Congrats to guys like Steve, Slavko, Jeff, Mike, Andrew, Critic (though he's a Red Wings fan too but you are a HOCKEY FAN) Athomeboy, Murcie, Chimpy, EvilJester, Jason, Tony, anyone else I missed here etc.. etc.. Just a great time to be a Hawks fan, and a follower of the game.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) Flowers and Kroeger both 2/3 with HR. I told you Flowers would be fine in the power department.
  3. f***ing unbelievalbe!!! Just got back to da crib. Fuycking crazy at Borbon street (wish I went) but it was f***ING CRAZY AT HOOTRS TOO!!! Kinda drunk, but still know what the f*** I'm doing!!! WOOOO HAWKS!!! KANE!!! TOEWS!!! HOSSA! NIEMI!!! THE WHOLE f***ING TEAM I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! FINALLY SOMETHIN GTO CELEBRATE IN CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) If he's hitting 40+ home runs a year, fine...but until he hits his 35th HR some season, I'm going to worry. More on a power tear than Viciedo in less ABs (and almost the same in gap power with limited ABs). He'll be fine in the power department. His OBP is still 7 points higher than Dayan with his average being 64 points lower.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) Actually his K rate is worse than D2 by quite a bit. He's in Mark Reynolds territory...which tells you what he needs to have happen with his power numbers to be a productive player. Ya I just resaw his numbers.. May really f***ed him up. Still is walking more than Danks though. It goes to show how bad Flowers has been, and is still putting up a .775 OPS on the season.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) His problem continues to be K's. He's struck out 8 times in 19 at bats in June. That's not going to go away. As long as he is walking at a good pace (has 3 BBs this month too, and he's always K'd alot, but produced a very good BB% rate too) to go along with the power, he'll be adequate. It's bad, but it isn't Jordan Danks bad.
  7. I'm going to hold off hope that Flowers' May was just a bad month. April: .323/.432/.613/1.045 May: .122/.215/.280/.496 June: .263/.391/.684/1.076 (small sample size so far though) Hopefully he continues to perform this month. (didn't he say he is going back to his old swing? Might help him there)
  8. FYI Dan, saw on your draft tracker you listed Ronzelle Fort as a RHP. He is in fact a LHP IIRC.
  9. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) If AJ is the only one who gets moved, I will be very disappointed.. I'll be pissed off, not disappointed personally.
  10. Wow.. Cubs picked Eric Jagielo. My little brother played against him in elementary school.. :o IF that is the same kid, that is unbelievable! (though his name might be Eric Jagelado)
  11. Royals just picked Shoeless Joe Jackson's great great great grandson. (Joseph Jackson) Pretty cool. (and you douche's )
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) He'll be gone by sunday night. Gut feeling Rock or do you got some inside info on it?
  13. I still have no idea if I'm going to bourbon street tonight or going to a local restaurant. (I.E. hooters or B-Dubs) Decisions decisions...
  14. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Even going back as far as 2005, the benefit of having Ozzie Guillen as manager was never his ability to manage a ballgame and be an x's and o's guy. Ozzie's contribution has always been his ability to motivate, deflect negative attention, and keep a clubhouse loose. Well, I'm not seeing much motivation from our players, there's plenty of bad press about this team and Ozzie's antics are no longer putting that bad press on page 2, and, from the looks of it, our team is far from loose. So what exactly is it that Ozzie is providing this team? And I don't mean to imply that KW is without fault for this dreadful season; ultimately all roster decisions are on him regardless of what Ozzie requests. But, perhaps it's just me, I would have never put this team at 9 games under .500 in mid-June given the opening day roster and early season schedule. There were plenty of threads on this board and articles in the national media talking about our rotation being in the top 5 of MLB. We were also supposed to have a decent pen. So yes, the offense didn't look great coming into the season, but with the pitching we were supposed to have we'd be in it to grab a bat closer to the deadline. The pitching flopped and you can't put that on KW. So yeah, mark me down as wanting Ozzie canned for being a sh*t manager, not because of his roster requests. Outstanding post.
  15. Sox last few picks.. Samuel Phippen RHP College Senior. Brett Bruening RHP College Junior Lucas Irvine RHP College Junior Matthew Chavez RHP College Sophomore Ronald Cotton OF High Schooler Ronzelle Fort LHP High Schooler (Chicago Illinois native) Matt Reida 2B High Schooler Audry Santana 2B High Schooler (Rafael Santana's son) Patrick Schatz RHP College Senior David Vazquez 2B High Schooler
  16. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:31 PM) That may be true, I don't disagree, but teams aren't going to risk trading for players making that kind of money unless they believe the results will come with it. And why wouldn't they? Read from the last page on. I just posted a couple of post up that a team can easily get a great pitcher again. Put him back in the NL (especially at a pitchers park) and you will get the same guy. Remember, sox screwed around with him with tweaking his mechanics early on, and its not like he is clearly injured (or severe lack of velocity). No doubt in my mind he would be dominate going back to the NL where he knows the hitters.
  17. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) Solid Vanderbilt commit, can't see us swaying him. Their last few picks are all tough signs IIRC. Should be interesting to see whom the sox can persuade.
  18. Sox pick Conrad Gregor RF high schooler. Indiana native.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) Scouts are smarter than someone wanting to write him off after 2 bad months and some mechanical issues. Thank you. Put him back in the NL and he will probably the same guy. Especially if he was in a pitcher's park.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:55 AM) Levi Schlick another HS LHP. He's not a high schooler.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Any chance that we can pay for a hitting coach to win this thing, so he can go and talk to him?
  22. Anyone got anything on Chris Lee? I only found his bios, but no scouting report. Sox pick Bradley Salgado SS Another high schooler.
  23. John Shelby's other son, and Trey Bone's little brother was just picked. Jeremy Shelby to the Orioles.
  24. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Maybe it's a good thing he was on a pitch count. He wouldn't want to end up like this. No it was good, wasn't saying it wasn't. Just for the sake of a fan watching though, he makes you want more of him when he pitches. I don't think he had more than 80 pitches in a game in the minors so he was on a strict count.
