Is it time to sign Quentin?
QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) That comment was made months ago, and no one even knows for sure whether he was serious or not. He wasn't.. there was an article that Buehrle was saying this jokingly to the media, but of course you can't see facial expressions in articles written. He was kidding around the whole time. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) The Chicago papers said he was joking and nobody made a stink about it. The national outlets tried to turn it into a story. There's no story there. Damn you.. just saw this.

Bone, Slick Rick and Heavy D's songs should be much higher. How Lil Jon's song even made the top 100 as a "Hip Hop" hit is beyond me.

Is it time to sign Quentin?
I'd bait him on it.. lowball him, but put a s*** ton of incentives on the deal, since he's basically an injury prone player.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) Hell of a game by the Dolphins. They made the Jets defense look bad on that last drive. Carl is happy.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Astounding! The Blackhawks trailed 5-0 and they've tied it up 5-5. Even crazier.. they won, and pulled off the biggest comeback in their franchise's history.

White Sox players in the Winter Leagues
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Not sure i like Fat Freddy pitching in Winter Ball. I'm sure it's a national pride thing, but i'd prefer for him to rest up. Probably to still build on his arm strength. He's not quite there yet, and I believe the org. said he has room to increase his velocity a bit more.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 07:50 PM) I was going to go to the Hawks game tonight, but my plans fell through at the last minute. Thank God. And if people want to boo tonight at the game, by all means they should. 5-0 in the 1st is simply unacceptable lack of effort. Congratulations.. You just missed the biggest comeback in Blackhawks History.. TAKE A BOW!

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Newbie or not, everyone should be able to realize Huet f***ing blows. Pulled after 5 shots. 3-0 Flames. Oh yea I kinda found that out even before when hockey posters here were ripping him. Very exciting comeback and game to watch though. Niemi looked like he allowed a couple of soft ones in, but he's been solid since.

QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Why? Lemme know when they beat one of the top teams.. People need to get off New Englands nuts, their better days are behind them now and a horrible fumble and a wide open dropped pass is separating them from 3-2 and a very deserving 1-4 :notworthy Agree 1000%.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Derek Anderson is probably gonna finish 2 of 17 passing for 23 yards, yet Cleveland will probably win on a FG here at the end. This maybe the worst game ever. Wow... 2/17?! I don't even think Rex Grossman was that bad. They really should stop dicking around with Brady Quinn.

FutureSox Post-Season Top Prospects List
Holmberg, Heidenreich are more worthy than a few names on that list. Ima go out on a limb and say Jim Gallagher is a huge sleeper next year. Every level he goes up, he gets better.

Discussion: Project Prospect's Top 25 pitchers
QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 12:59 AM) I sort of feel that way too, but I don't know that if it actually came down to it, that I could deal Danksy. For whatever reason, he's the guy I envision being the face of this franchise in the future... I'd trade Floyd way before Danks as well. I still feel Danks has the better potential and younger, not to mention Floyd still has that hip problem. The "Face of the franchise" statement is a bit steep considering that's Beckham no questions asked, but Danks can be that potential ace for the pitching staff, not to mention that man is a bulldog in the clutch. I'm just glad for our sake we have both of these guys, and hopefully Floyd's injury isn't as bad as some think.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 11:15 PM) What do you know about 1993... you weren't even alive then I was 7 and just beginning to drink actually. Or actually I should be doing.. cause at age 7, that is ridiculous of the crap I got a hold of.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Much different times in their careers and much different circumstances behind the low output, they're also very different kinds of hitters. Ankiel's potential is no where near that of Quentin. ^^^^^^^^^ Ankiel is a nice story despite the HGH, but his potential as a pitcher blows his potential as a hitter through the roof.

White Sox talk new deal with Scott Podsednik's agent
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) I heard today Abreu is near an extension. Ya I would think the Angels would not let him go. He's taught all the young hitters the definition of being patient and he's well liked.

Insider Rumor Mill
QUOTE (son of a rude @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 02:08 PM) You have to wonder if they will try to trade AJ. I love AJ as much as everybody else and think he is great for the organization, but trading him could get some decent return and it would free up space to sign somebody like nick johnson. I guess it would depend if the organization is sold on Flowers and if they think he could start next year. I know AJ has a partial no trade clause, but i'm not sure what teams it blocks him from. I've commented on this before. I would love the idea, LOVE to trade A.J. just because his value will not get any higher, and he probably won't duplicate those numbers again. But with that being said, you CAN NOT deal him. If we had Joe Mauer waiting in the wings, then that's a different issue, but your going to be depending on Flowers, a rookie (no disrespect to Tyler but he is no Joe Mauer) to pick up the slack and then some (handling pitchers, calling games, hitting, etc..) I just think that's too much to ask a rookie to take over, especially one who isn't a cant miss as say.. a Matt Wieters. (though Baltimore isn't competing right now) Tyler may be a better hitter (more power) in the future, but he isn't as good as A.J. is right now.

Young, Studly, Under Team Control Outfielders
QUOTE (beck72 @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) What I do think is the sox need a young lefty bat for the OF. Sell low on Jeremy Hermida. The Marlins will deal him this offseason. He plays a damn good RF too.

**Official Twins vs. Yankees Thread**
The thing that gets me is it's in the playoffs. That means there's more umps on the field. A call like that makes it better off just keeping it the way it is during the season if that's the case. Not saying I want that, and I know Baseball still wants to keep the game as regular (America's pastime) as possible, but it draws a fine line here. It's the only sport that doesn't have it basically, and I still wouldn't like it personally as I grew up and played this fine game as it is, but changes always happens.
