QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) Creepy. People dont realize how dangerous this stuff is. A while back I actually went though Flickr and found pictures with geotag information on them and warned the people involved that you might not want to post nearly naked pictures of yourself and tell people EXACTLY where you live. I eventually stopped because while my intentions were good, it seemed just a little to creepy to me.

As someone who served ona jury for a murder case that ended up to be a hung jury, I can understand the overal frustration of not only the lawyers but also the jurors. In my case, we had two people that were 100% unmovable form their position that this person was innocent. After 2 days of deliberations, we were let go.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) To anyone who works in Tech support, you are a better person than me. I consider myself to be an extremely patient person (and I believe everyone I know would agree), but I had to just hang up on my mom while talking her through a simple computer procedure. I feel like I might as well have been talking an Alzheimer's patient through brain surgery. logmein.com or GoToMyPC.com Those may help you a lot.

Sounds like the verdicts are in. I think he'll be found guilty on the conspiracy charges.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Anyone else watch the Hoff Roast? Greg Giraldo's Gary Coleman joke was fantastic. that was so damn funny, and you could tell there was some "did he just say that?" reactions from the audience.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 08:32 AM) Toilet at home stopped working, wife is sick, and fell off bike on way to work today. Not an auspicious start to the week. so, funny story. A couple of years back, my wife and I got home after spending some time at my parents house. I go sit on the toilet and the WATER TANK cracks and water just starts spilling EVERYWHERE. My wife hears it, walks in and here I am with my pant around my ankles with this look like "what the hell just happened?"

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) You're only thinking this through about 15% to 25% of the way here. This is ALL, from every angle, a poltical statement. Built it? /// Uhhh Ground Zero!! (check). In this way, we can make those stupid American f***ers racist pigs that they are, even though building here is of course imflammatory to begin with... let's get those Allah Hating people in our face, because it makes us look like the tolerant ones (check). Pull in the political leaders and start the back and forth (check). Imam makes phone calls talking about what a meat feast this is turning into - send more money - NOW - so we can get the shariah mentions in here... (check) Imam meets with mayor Bloomburg, tells him he'll get some cash out of the deal in the backroom, Mayor announces this as a great idea (check this one is the chaching kind) Call in more controversy by saying that they are only coming to this particular site out of revverence, love, peace, and all that crap for the people who died there that day (check) ....... all the while knowing that even the action being considered is condecending, provacative, and just downright "morally repugnant" knowing the seeds down there. (check) Now you have the Sean Hannity's of the world running around talking how bad this is (check) and therefore how much better they all really are, because ultimiately a "peaceful (YET DISRESFECTFUL AS HELL) religion" wants to clearly set up base there to make a name for themselves on one of the most controversial places in the world. For Chris's sakes, just make the movie about it and get it over with... bunch of attention whores trying to make points that frankly don't need to be made there.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) If this were a 'Christian' center, would he have stood up as strongly for this? We all know the answer to that. Again, this is all just a big show. He'd never have to support a Christian center because they aren't bomb carrying terrorist.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) That's a pretty well known fact I would think. I mean, who doesn't hate Iowa? Besides Heads of course. My wife? Well, she doesnt hate Iowa, just some of her relatives that live there.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) Jeez, I'd be ecstatic if I was paying only that much for school/daycare. I can't wait until kindergarten starts and we can start using some of that property tax money we've been paying. Well, childcare is crazy expensive. We decided to go the "friends and family" route. It only costs us about $600 ($75 a day) a month for two kids (my mom has them twice a week, free. I am off one day during the week. We pay sitters for Monday and Friday). Once my oldest is eligible for full day 3 year old preschool next year, I am enrolling her at $351 per month.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) CNBC just flashed the stat that a child born to middle class parents is expected to have an average of $286,050 spent on it by age 17. That does NOT include college. A family with two kids is expected to cost $600,000 during the same time period. I'm curious what that factors in. That seems a bit high to me. That's roughly $16,826.47 per year (1402.37 per month). Is it assuming private schooling? If so, that MAYBE i can see where that might be right since the school my daughters will be attending when they start school is roughly $3200 a year.
