  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Awesome. And with tickets only $70, you'd be insane to pass up this opportunity to celebrate fund-raise commemorate 9/11. no doubt it was an "accident". he didnt know that 9/11 also happened to be the same date that 4 airplanes were hijacked 9 years ago. Pure accident I am sure.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Honestly, this is probably more about his wife than anything. that was my first thought
  7. ok, for a moment there I confused him with Robert Smigel.
  8. So, this afternoon I learned I have a second cousin (related threw my dad's dad) who is a Disney Imagineer. Not only that, but apparently he's extremely high up the food chain. I dont have the job title just yet, but it sounds like he might be one of the heads of Imagineering in Florida. How cool is that????
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:02 AM) It looks like the Kindle and the nook are the big two left on the market. Sony's is around but everything I read said it isn't as good as those other two. The price points on the nook and Kindle are within $10 of each other. The Kindle has access to a lot more books on Amazon but it doesn't support some of the open-source formats. The nook doesn't have as many ebooks available through B&N, but there's a lot more public domain books you can get for it. I thought the Nook had more titles than Kindle. Maybe it's on old number i saw (or maybe I saw a Public Domain + B&N > Amazon store books number)
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Yeah, I don't use iTunes that frequently but I don't notice any difference in that pic and what I've been using for years. NSS, as for your Vista comment, I used that OS for the first time this week. I've been using XP for years and have had W7 on my work computer and laptop at home since January. There's so many half-figured out things in Vista and stuff that doesn't work nearly as well as it should (and does in W7). I'm glad I pretty much skipped over that OS as it seems like a poor bridge between what XP and W7 are. I 100% agree on the Vista comments. I skipped over buying Vista computers for where I work and just waited for W7 and I dont regret it one bit. W7 is impressive.
  11. Per CNN's twitter: Another oil rig exploded today. #Oilrig explodes 80 miles off #Louisiana; 12 people in water, 1 missing
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) Looking at Brooksbaseball, pitch f/x had him sitting at 102.11 and topping out at 103.9 what's the world record? I thought it was around 102 0r 103
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 01:21 PM) There appears to be an armed hostage situation at the headquarters of the Discovery channel. This may be the guy's legitimate web page of demands. The demands page is down, but here is the cache.
  14. The new AppleTV was EXTREMELY underwhelming. However, while i didn't like the new nano at first, it grew on me. I kinda like it.
  15. Conan announced the name of his new show today:
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) The only other thing it can be is your font/language. Being that it works fine for you in IE, it doesn't sound like a system preference. Here's my confusion: It works great in IE8, but not Chrome or Firefox. AND, it's only those pages (well, maybe other pages I;ve never been to). Every other page renders just fine.
  17. For those who are interested, Apple's press event today is being streamed live on Apple.com (for the first time ever I think), but you have to have an iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or Mac running 10.6 Snow Leopard. My guess is that they are "showing off" their new streaming servers they will be using to stream content to your iTV, and iOS related devises. For those not running 10.6, you will probably be able to watch the even on live.twit.tv
  18. I thought this was rather interesting: Steve Schmidt, Former McCain Campaign Chief, On Mehlman Fundraiser: Same-Sex Marriage Becoming Conservative Cause
  19. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) Gotta admit, I really like what is discussed in that link. I don't see it happening, but it would be very cool. Yea, it was interesting thought candy if nothing else.
