QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) Ok, so I sat down to make sure lost was recording on my Comcast DVR last night. And people who know this unit know that it is unreliable at times. So i sit down and it has frozen. So I have to unplug the unit and wait for it to start back up to watch the show and record it. I effectively miss the first segment, the first 5 min. Please sometime tell me what happened before the first commercial!!! Watchi it for free at ABC.com http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing

QUOTE(GaelicSoxFan @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) The first one they did, the Joe Cain soundalike contest, was good. But you'd think they would've learned their lesson after the John Shoop, George Ofman, black people doing Hawk and Ed Farmer soundalike contests. OMG I forgot about the Joe Cain one. Freaking Hysterical!

After a long break, I come back with yet ANOTHER proposal. Dimensions: LF- 325 Left Center - 360 Center- 407 (410 is the deepest part) Right Center- 360 RF- 325 Specs: Most of the stadium is normal except for a field level 120 room hotel (kind of like the Skydome but at field level!) with bleachers on "the roof" of the hotel. 48 of the rooms face into the stadium and 72 face out. THere are also 4-6 "batters eye" suites. The lobby of the hotel is located behind the score board and features a MASSIVE 3 storry lobby with an indoor swimming pool located right behind the centerfield wall (directly below the suites). Your thoughts?

How about Chris Wallace's assault on all journalists by chickening out and saying "a lot of people have e-mailed me this". What a chicken s*** way of asking a question yet not actually asking it himself. He was clearly there to do Fox News' smearing of him.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) It seems like a collossal waste of money to me. The Olympics being in other cities has never made me want to visit that city. The village and stadium is going to all be privatly financed.
-
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) Why wouldn't they just use Soldier Field? It's already a landmark spot. The Olympics require the Opening and Closing Ceremonies to be held in a stadium with 80,000+ seats. There is really no easy way to wedge in that many seats in Soldier Field. Plus, to hold track and field, the stadium would need some massive field level alterations.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 07:44 AM) Seems like a giant waste of time to me. And what the hell is that 95K-seat stadium going to be used for afterwards? Are the Bears going to move? No other sensible use for it after the Olympics leave. It's going to be ripped down to a 10,000-20,000 seat stadium for local and national sporting events.

I have officially found my dream home theater set-up. Yes, it's probably a little "over done", but I love the concept! http://www.cedia.net/awards/2006_awards/tt_g.php

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) This is actually pretty great stuff. Its like two negatives making a positive. Walmart is really great at "pushing cost out of the system" as they put it, and one of the main ways they do that is use their distribution size and network to hold suppliers over the barrel on price. Drug companies make absurd profits by charging differentially and pushing their drugs through medical professionals. Now Walmart comes along, engages them as "partners", and one company's questionable but effective tactic cancels out that of another. And the consumer, ultimately, wins. As much as I despise Walmart, I have to say... Ya know, that is a very interesting perspective. I woudl never have thought of it that way. I too am not a fan of Wal-Marts tactics, but in this case... rock on Wal-Mart!
