  1. Why, Why, Why... is Macowiak playing center again??? It's the bigest freaking centerfield in the majors. He cant play center to the Cell, what makes Ozie think Macowiak is a positive for us in center!?!?

  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) My all-overrated rotation: 1) Josh Beckett 2) Mark Prior 3) Kerry Wood 4) A.J. Burnett 5) C.C. Sabathia (he keeps getting thrown around as an ace despite a 4.05 career ERA. Decent, but not stellar) I agree 100% on that. So much potential... so little production.
  5. "14. Local Area Network in Australia: The LAN down under. " I'm such a geek. I thought that was hysterical.
  6. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) I remember complaining when it went over a dollar... When i started driving in 2000, THe gas was beetween $1 and $1.50. 6 years later.... $3. OUCH!
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) This might not be settled after all... Pluto may still get demoted WOO HOOO!!! THere's still a chance!
  8. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 09:54 AM) Another waivers question: Do waivers work for the 40-man roster or just the 25-man roster? Meaning...does someone like Jerry Owens or Boone Logan also go through the waiver process? http://kmbumb.people.wm.edu/roster/glossary.html Seems like if you are on the 40 man, you must clear waivers.
  9. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) I don't see why not. Heck, I remember when we placed Loaiza on waivers in the middle of his miracle season. It's not like it matters who you put through, as long as you take them off. exactly. I think Frank Thomas was always placed on waivers even when he was a beast at the plate.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) 434 feet is the estimate damn! That's a blast.
  11. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) final score today Sox 23 Royals 21 actually, at this pace it'll be 9-9 after 9 with 18 homers! lol
  12. well, 4 consecutive half innings with lead off homers. Cant say I've ever seen that before!
  13. Almost every player on every team gets placed on waivers. This is nothing unexpected. I am sure Thome was placed on waivers as well. Once he gets claimed, you pull him back and it's done with. Nothing out of the ordinary.
  14. they just played it on the score. It's really funny stuff. "When Mel gets out of rehab let him bat against Sandy Koufax."
  15. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) He used all 25, even the other starting pitchers? If thats the case, it was irresponsible. Yes he did. 10 pitchers pitched and 2 pitch hit (Zambrano and Marmol). All of his position players playyed as well. So, basically, if the game went past the 18th, Rich Hill had the rest of the game unless Dusty started having position players pitch a few inning and move Hill into the field.
  16. What they need to do is devide the planets into "native" and "captured/irregular". Under the current understanding of planetary development, TRUE (or "native") planets form on the same orbital plan as the rotation of the sun and have a fairly circular orbit. All the others are either captured plants or massive bodys that were nocked off orbit. In my optinion, the 8 inner plannets are "native" while all these other crazy orbit ones are not.

  19. anyone else think it was VERY irresponsible of Baker to play all 25 players?? One tweeked muscle or ejection and they would have forfit the game!!
  20. A few years back I was in one of the skyboxes and caught a foulball barehanded (yea, that hurt). There was a 5 or 6 year old standing next to where I was sitting. i gave the ball to him. I know how much it would have ment for me if someone had given me a foul ball when i was his age. I had no real use for it. He might as well get some enjoyment out of it. A few days later I heard this kid was just so giddy and greatful that i gave him the ball. That ment a lot to me.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) So tonight I caught my first foul ball. I was in section 146 and bare handed a foul liner off the bat of Mark Teahan. It was fun high fiving everyone and letting people feel the ball. The ball was right on path to hitting my girlfriend as she assumed a fetal position and closed her eyes, so luckily I was able to reach around her and catch it. I had previously gotten a ball in Tuscon, but that was from the Rockies bullpen catcher after I told him I'd give him my smoothy if he gave me a ball. I think she owe's you a little "thank you" () for protecting her.
  22. Kornheiser = Dennis Miller but with more sports knowledge. I think it's going to suck. So, the long recent tradition of sucky MNF crews continues. On a side note: I really digg the new MNF graphics. THe little score board thing on the bottom is VERY slick and not obtrusive. Thumbs up!

  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 09:43 AM) And they look like they are 21. Its amazing how the girls nowadays looks that much older than they are. I looked back at my class picture from when I graduated 8th grade (1997). NONE of my class mates looked older than 15. Now a days, girls at the school i work for look 20. What happened!?
