QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Are they doing it because they want their wives to be home to raise their kids? Or are they doing it just because they can? If it's the latter, I agree with you...that's the opposite of what the system was designed for. I get the impression they are doing it to raise the kids. They're a a conservative couple (dad's a pastor) with the "old values" where the wife should stay home with the kids. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) If the family doesn't make enough money to pay for daycare and they also qualify for federal assistance then I don't see a problem with this scenario. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) Could she find enough to cover daycare? It was impossible for a friend of mind without government assistance for the daycare. I dont know if her having a full time job would cover daycare. I have no problem with having the government subsidize the overpriced daycare system we have now.

Not sure where to post this, but: I just found out that friends of mine are on WIC because they want the wife to be a stay at home mom. The wife is perfectly capable of having/finding a job, but she CHOOSES to stay home. I think that kinds pisses me off. My wife could stay home too if we wanted to live off the government, but we choose to provide for ourselves.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) So, my sister-in-law goes around to pictures on Facebook and "tags" herself in photos she likes... that she is not even in (including pictures of her cousins baby)! So, now she posted on Facebook that she is looking for a way to take OTHER peoples pictures and put them in her own albums to re-share.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) According to 670, the Bears have informed their wide receiver corps that they will not be seeking an upgrade via free agency at their position. Such a stubborn franchise when it comes to wide receivers... f***ing A. I think the Over/Under on Cutler INTs just went up. -

I have a problem when owners play the commitment or loyalty card in a league without guaranteed contracts and where teams can cut players with little penalty to the team. -

@DavidHaugh - Nick Barnett, Jerry Angelo is on Line 1 offering best chance to prove to Packers you can still play -- or Angelo should be. -

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) T Mobile annoys me with their fake ass borderline illegal advertising campaigns about their nations "biggest 4G network". None of the networks have "REAL" 4G. The only reason Verizon has "4G" is because they got they got the organization that manages the naming system to capitulate and lower their standards for what 4G really is. Yes, Verizon uses parts of real 4G, but the speeds are NOT 4G.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) What's the correct answer when an employer is asking for your salary requirements? Is it wrong to be ambiguous and say that its up for negotiation? I have always put "negotiable" when it comes to a situation like that. To me, I dont want to low-ball my potential pay, but I dont want to over-price myself out of a job I might be willing to take less at to do.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) I think the short version is that they approved a deal that had all the elements of things they'd talked about with Smith, but that Smith hadn't agreed to, and that Smith hadn't seen until something like an hour before the actual vote. Why would Smith schedule a call to the player reps without even knowing exactly what he is going to present? "Ok, we're going to vote. I dont know on what yet, but we'll have something to vote on" The more I think about it, the owners were brilliant. They KNEW the players had no idea what they were voting on. they knew they probably would not like some it (that's Smith's fault in my opinion), so they jumped the gun and make them look bad if they reject an offer that Smith agreed to. -

I am so confused. Smith was going to the players with a proposal to approve, then says "Issues that need to be collectively bargained remain open". Then which is it? He didnt say "Issues that need to be collectively bargained were changed", just that they "remain open" and "There is no agreement". If there is no agreement, then dont go to the players to approve something that isnt final. My head hurts. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) So turns out I completely misconstrued the situation. The deal the owners have approved wasnt even reviewed by the players yet. Kind of a screw job to the players. But wasnt it the same deal they negotiated with DeMaurice Smith? Since DeMaurice Smith is essentially the players representative at the negotiating table (same as the owners having reps at the table), then they passed a plan that the players rep approved. It's not the owner's that fault Smith didnt give the players all of the details yet. PLEASE correct me if I am wrong. -

The highly skeptical person in my thinks the NFLPA is using the funeral today as cover to delay the agreement as long as possible.
