QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) So I am checking out Google+, and I certainly hope it takes off because I greatly prefer it to Facebook. I do too. I am only "playing" with it right now. My normal email address uses Google Apps, and Google wont let Google Apps users create a profiles, so I cant use Google+ with it yet. So, I am using a gmail address I never use, so I dont want to go "all in" until Google allows profile creation with Google Apps, and this is supposedly coming soon.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) In any case, I don't understand why so many actresses (movies and TV) are put on a level above "ordinary" women. It's not uncommon for me to see women in my everyday life that I think are far better looking than a lot of the actresses/celebrities held up as paragons of beauty and elegance. This is especially true when you consider the amount of money and free time these actresses/celebrities can dedicate to maintaining or improving their looks. I was at a CVS yesterday to buy milk and I saw the most amazing, drop dead gorgeous woman. She's probably some accountant somewhere.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) I know Rosie is a terrible actress in Transformers 3, but goodness, she's good looking in some of those outfits. +1

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) I enjoyed that. Although wasn't that scene supposed to be in Washington? The entire plot is full of holes. It's pretty funny. THe highway scene and the "auto shop" were both in DC, even though they were a Chicago highway and the milwaukee art museum. Speaking of plot holes, why was megatron REALLY on earth? T1) He crashed looking for the cube T2) He's working from The Fallen to harvest energon T3)

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) One thing I can say for sure is that the 3D in Dark Of The Moon was completely unnecessary. The only part where I felt that it added anything (or even noticed it) was the sky diving scene. Having never been to a 3D movie before, I really liked it. I dont think it's ever really needed for any movie, but much to my surprise I thought it made me feel more "in" the movie.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) I feel uncomfortable based on the set of people I've seen post this on facebook...something about the type of person who might be inclined to gloat over that... I wouldnt call it gloating, at least I'm not. It's just ironically funny. The work he did on that show was for the good of all mankind, in my opinion. On a side note: my sister used to be best friends with one of the "kids" in a sting. She's now a stuckup/self-centered actress/recording artist.

So, yesterday my boss finally admitted (without really saying it) that he screwed up by cutting back my hours (and the hours of one of my co-workers). He said, after meeting weekly for the last 2 months, he now has a full understanding of what my co-worker and I do. In January he is going to request our board reinstate us to full-time, assuming our finances are ok. I fully intend on being gone by then, but at least he was willing to say he was wrong.

I dont know why I didnt like it. The concept was VERY interesting. I like that. I think, maybe, I had different expectations of what it would be. I dunno. Maybe if the main human character wasnt so annoying I would have liked it more.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 09:55 AM) Just think "District 9" for an outlandish sci-fi premise that turned out to be an excellent film. District 9 sucked. Absolutely sucked. I hated it. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) Ebert is a snobby movie douche. Coming from a guy that hates these movies (and most of the recent comic book retreads) I recognize that these movies are made to entertain, not win Oscars for best film. It's supposed to have load explosions, cool robot battles, hot women, etc. It's not designed to make us reflect on the morality of robots or existence of alien beings. Clearly a gazillion people are entertained since these movies make a s*** ton of money year after year. f*** Ebert. You exactly nailed my view on movies. Sometimes, I dont want to have to "think" about a movie, or be wowed by it's incredible depth of and character development. Sometimes, I want to see s*** blow up and have a good time.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
HuskyCaucasian replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) This is exactly what they currently have right now. Right, but a lower cap could increase the amount of money that goes around. Personally, I dont want to see rev sharing because I just dont think it really helps all that much. I want to see contraction of the weak financial teams, but that wont happen. Contract the Bucks, Hornets, and Kings for starters. -
2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
HuskyCaucasian replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I could see an MLB style cap structure where the "soft cap" is 45 million, but if you go over you have to pay $ for $ into a revenue sharing structure. And yes, a hard cap would HAVE to be phased in. Teams are not going to want to cut their key players to make the cap (even if they plan on resigning them), there's too much of a risk they might walk to another team. and even with a 33% reduction in pay, any team currently over $67.164 million in payroll would be destroyed overnight. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) One, that will never happen. But 2, without guaranteed contracts it gets a lot easier to not give a s*** about possible bad contracts. Exactly. The bulls could easily dump Boozer or Noah and get even further below the cap. -
I have a tangential question: HOw much does it cost you monthly to maintain a pool? When my wife and I move to FL in a year or 2, I have declared a pool in our backyard is a must.
