  1. Dwight Howard says that he won't sign a contract extension and will become a free agent in 2012
  2. Interesting interview on The Score right now. A guy who has covered LeBron since he was a Soph in HS. Flat out called James a choker. They went back at looked at the championship games from when he was in HS and said LeBron was never "the guy" in those games.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) This is an extremely misleading picture. Lebron hugged Kidd, talked to him, then patted him on the chest and said congrats as he was walking away. I know what it looks like, but that is wrong ah ok. thanks
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) MLB is not contracting. Doesnt mean they shouldnt
  5. Contract Oakland and KC or Tampa and realign this way: (4 NL teams to the AL, 2 AL teams to the NL) AL East: Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Toronto Blue Jays AL Central: Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Minnesota Twins Milwaukee Brewers AL South: Texas Rangers Houston Astros Atlanta Braves Florida Marlins Tampa Bay Rays or Kansas City Royals NL East: New York Mets Washington Nationals Philadelphia Phillies Pittsburgh Pirates NL Central: Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds St. Louis Cardinals Colorado Rockies NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim San Diego Padres Arizona Diamondbacks San Francisco Giants Seattle Mariners
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) MLB has thrown out the possibility of re-alignment. Both leagues would have 15 teams, so at least one interleague match up always. The one proposal that seems to have the most support is one with no divisions. Top 5 teams make the playoffs. ESPN.com - MLB, players talk realignment
  7. Talks Held With Five NFL Teams About Moving To L.A. The Rams? I didnt know they were even interested in moving.
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) Dallas outside shooting just buried the Heat. The Heat offensive totals are good besides for turnovers. Im not sure you want to rely on having to shoot over 60% from 3, but it worked tonight. I honestly feel that is Korver or Boozer had contributed anything in the Heat series, the Bulls would have one it. The Mavs are just doing a better job at what the Bulls wanted to do.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) 6 of the Republican Candidates are scheduled to address a "Gold Standard Bus Tour" in Iowa next week. Pawlenty, Santorum, Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, Johnson. where's Glenn Beck? He's all about gold!
  10. B and C. Steve's final "legacy" at Apple. He wont be around to see it finished
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) To add to this topic, then there is the other variety of idiots out there. Apparently some of them who were ordered to evacuate have decided to stay. There is a picture on CNN of a dude standing there in front of his house with a garden house, when this 2000 degree mega-fire bears down on him. Yeah, that's gonna end well. Maybe it's the same guy who was on a news channel the day before Katrina and said "I'm from New York, I've never been through a hurricane, I'm staying". Maybe it was lucky enough to live once, wont happen again!
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) Chances they still have bread by 1:30? yea, I am trying to play the "what's the best time to go" game. I know noon is insane. But might 2pm be a little too late?
  13. I love to take trending hash-tags on Twitter and merge them into one sentence: #letsmakelove at #jimmyjohns #thisweekend because I am not a #SubwayFan.
  14. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) Kate Upton on Tosh the other night...whoa...hot.
  15. Anyone have experience with Comcast Buisness Phone and Internet at their place of employment? Thoughts?
  16. @JayZawaski670 - Kate Middleton's phone has been hacked eh? Please God...I don't ask for much. Please let there be some "leakworthy photos".
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) Technically 1986 was not his rookie year, that was one of the first games back from the injury that cost him most of 1985. My mistake. I was looking at basketball-reference.com and the first year they have stats on him is 85-86. I didnt notice the year.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) # of Games as a Chicago Bull where Michael Jordan scored single digit points (9 or fewer): 1. I seem to remember that he only played like 20 minutes that game and it was a blowout, so Phil put him on the bench. My memory might be wrong though. My memory was wrong. It a game against the Cavs in 1986. I wasnt even 3 years old, so clearly I dont remember it. lol For the record: MJ scored in single digests 12 times with the Wiz.
  19. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) There are two positions at the same company that I'd like to apply for. They're nearly identical, except for I think one duty/responsibility. I've customized my cover letter for the company. It probably wouldn't be wise to submit the same cover letter even though its basically the same job right? Secondly, I attempted to call and find the name and title for the person doing the hiring for the position, but I got no where. On the web site they have the hr director's name and the president for the department the position is in. Whose name should I address it to or should I do neither? Thanks I have similar situations liek this. I'd be curious on peoples thoughts.
  20. I was in a tech chat room during the Nintendo announcement and people were ripping the new controller. Personally, I think the whole product is going to be nice.
  21. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Actually, the company I'm at has been around longer than NASA. and so has the computer program *rim shot*
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) I think it has more to do with the fact that a higher percentage of the population werent born and raised there, similar to LA. For the most part when people move to a new city later in life they keep their alliances with their favorite teams. That's a solid point as well. My wife and I will be moving to Florida int he next 5 years and you wont get me changing my alliances from the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Sox.
  23. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) Isn't some of it the lower average income? I thought Florida was kind of a poor state. I wouldnt call it a "poor" state. It's actually a middl eo fthe pack state when it comes to per capita income. A lot of the state is based on tourism (Orlando, Miami). I was talking to someone who lives in Orlando and he knows people who call Tampa "the real city" because it's economy isnt based on tourism like Orlando's is. The state was really hit hard by the economic recession. It killed housing down there. Houses that once sold for $330,000 in 2006 near Orlando can be grabbed for $140,000.
  24. I have a stump in my backyard from a bush we removed last year. We want to get most of it out because we would like to put a garden there. Because of the location, toughness and extent of the root structure, I dont have the option to just dig it out. What are some good options to remove it? The one option I saw was to drill holes, poor in a drying agent, then burn it out. Yea, it's 2 feet from a wood fence, not an option.
