UPDATE: on Maggs contract situation
I wish the other rumor was true and a done deal at 6 years at 68 mill. Probably too low by his standards. This is a very fair offer for him, yet the fifth year, as discussed, could be a stumbling block. Either way, I am still pretty confident a deal gets done. Although, for the JR haters out there, this is hardly a cheap contract offer.

Danny Graves=Billy Koch
Straight up swap?
-
Aaron Rowand
I definitely like his defense, but there are people in other forums who believe he flat out sucks. I don't understand it. Even when it isn't pretty, he gets it done.

Thomas opens his yap again.
Maggs isn't talking about a contract he signed.

Lol.

Britney Spears a Birmingham Barons fan?
Watch out Steff, I heard she has her eyes on Cotts.

Ground Rule Double
We talked about that somewhere else, and the reason is because the second runner never crossed the plate and Crede didn't touch second. Supposedly Ventura had a walk off homer with a guy on third, he touched first and joined his team. He was credited with a single.

Closer?
Maybe in the future, but very doubtful for this season.

Jeremy Affeldt
That almost makes me feel bad for him, except he signed with the Royals. He sucks and is stupid, lol.

Reaction to renovations
It wasn't supposed to cover the whole deck, which I like so you can still enjoy the nice weather, and backup when it's not.

Konerko for Perez
Konerko isn't just bringing the bat, he's also playing a damn good first base too.

sweeney, Anderson featured
That's fine, Reed and Rowand can hold down CF for now and the future. We'll see, but I'm personally more excited about Sweeney.

Billy Koch quote on his error in the 9th inning:
What? If you're winning, you should be happy. And if you're happy, you're going to play loose and have fun. That is absolutely part of having success. Do you of any sports team that played miserable and kicked ass? I don't. Everyone who wins has fun, and having fun is part of their success.

What the White Sox Need to Do Is.......
Adkins is a good pitcher. But how does that make him a starter? You think you can just make a guy a starter. You have to be stretched out, and you have to have the make up. Right now, Adkins has the make up of a solid reliever. Don't make him more than what he is. You can't just up and say, this guy should start.

new lineup idea
I would rather see Lee in the two spot over Olivo, even though Olivo looks a lot better this year so far. I don't mind Jose in the two spot, he's going to come around, and the guy can bunt, which we'll be seeing soon enough I'm sure. Happy Easter everyone!

derek jeter says...
Part of the reason they are not hitting well, is because we're pitching well. Although, they've had opportunities that they have not capatilized on. Again though, that is due partly to good pitching and defense in general. If you want to go with dumb luck, that's fine, I'll take that too.

Jason Giambi... WOW!
You could tell he was retaining water in the before picture. Steroids.
-
According to Baseball Weekly...
2003 they moved him to third base. He's a much better player when he's at second. As a utility guy, it probably doesn't matter as much from an offensive point of view. However, sticking him at third everyday when he was used to being the second baseman affected his offense. I like Kelly, but I can't say this trade would bother me that much. I like Bellhorn.

Jason Giambi... WOW!
Definitely off the juice, but a dangerous hitter nonetheless.

Autographs
Not a lot. Baseball: Wunsch Rowand Guillen Cora Baines Walker Buerhle Olivo Alomar Jr. Crede Football: Nitschke Payton Thomas Basketball: Pippen Paxson- this one is an 8x10 which is pretty cool because he's shooting a three with Skiles trying to block him.

Konerko Stealing
Konerko said in the Sun Times that it was a good idea, because they weren't paying any attention to him, and if he was gunned down, Rowand would have lead off the next inning. He also said that he probably should have done it in the past. I personally don't mind that aggressiveness, especially under the scenerio of them paying absolutely no attention to him, and a guy like Rowand set to lead off if it doesn't work out.
