  1. Wite only gets like this when he hasn't gotten laid for a while. Wite, I know black girls that are horny and have no standards. Your move.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) We can do it the Nationals way. Wait until the best prospects of our generation are available, then lose 100+ games those two seasons to get the #1 overall pick. And don't make the playoffs for 30 years while you are at it. That actually might be more appealing than going into '12 with our lone hope being that Adam Dunn, Alex Rios and Gordon Beckham remember how to play baseball. Oh, and Jake Peavy being able to pitch one month without his vagina hurting.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) I like this post. It's funny that people think they can maintain the status quo and all of a sudden the farm is going to get better. I'm fine with multiple down seasons if the organization addresses the issues that are apparent to almost everyone. Though, I'll wager the organization continues to be in between while denying any problems exist. I'm with Marty on this one. But it's better to go into every season thinking you have a chance. Doesn't matter how many times you come up short, or in our case, wayyyyyyyyyy short. I'd love to be the Nationals right now.
  4. QUOTE (sox win @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) obviously you'll aren't fans of ellsbury, but there is no other player in the league that can do what he can do(gold glove, 321 avg 32 hr 39 sb) The Red Sox made a mistake of signing Crawford and it's going to cost them Ellsbury, if he came to Chicage he would be the face of the franchise and someone to build around. There's a gentleman who goes by the name of Matt Kemp that can do what Ellsbury can. I think most would agree Ellsbury is really good. But that trade proposal is beyond illogical.
  5. QUOTE (sox win @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) Just caught the last minutes of sox talk in Boston, But they brought up an interesting trade: Danks, Sale and Quentin for Ellsbury, Reddick and Ranaudo(currently in the minor's with supposedly huge upside). I have mixed feelings about this trade proposal, but the thought of having Ellsbury is tantalizing. Did a moron fan propose this?
  6. The Phillies are getting f***ing stupid. They need to upgrade their offense much more than they need a $50 million dollar closer.
  7. Damn, shack is going crazy. Just channel your emotions like me. I will sport my new Joe avy for the rest of '11 as a show of support. The venom being spewed at this man is disgusting.
  8. I want to f*** Scout Taylor Compton. God damn she's hot.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 12:24 AM) Gimme some respect man, being in college finally. And I'm just not one for crowds, so rioting crowds is really no fun. Q, my friend, you know you have my respect. And yeah, I see your point of view. I've spent entire weekends up at ISU. People up there make Lindsay Lohan look sober. s*** gets out of control at times. But I don't support rioting. But I don't mind being there when it happens.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) Oh lord J4L. I know. I can't help it. I know you're like 10. But I was about 6 blocks away from the old Chicago Stadium when the Bulls won their second title in '92. Total chaos. It was fun. Even with me being like 10.
  11. Wow, they were talking about Ramos just yesterday in BA's Nationals top 10 prospects list report. Hope he comes out of this alright.
  12. lol@the rioting. I'll concede it's pretty pathetic. But I'd like to be there because I'm sure there's plenty of booze and hot girls.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) Then what is your argument? He did nothing wrong. He should be fired. What are you arguing back and forth for when you clearly have conflicted opinions? I can't be Balta and SS2K5. Post and post and post and post and post and post and post and post until I get the last word in. I've been posting all f***ing day. If you can't see where I'm coming from then oh well. I'm done with this thread for today.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) Joe could have been in denial. That's an explanation for his actions, not justification. Which is why I agree that he should be fired.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) And J4L, let's use your "beating" scenario and make it relate a bit more. Instead of an adult female being beaten, let's say an 8 year old boy tells you he's been beaten by an adult, or you witness it. Is it not your moral obligation to ensure he's taken out of harm's way? Children cannot be expected to shoulder this burden. A responsible adult, or in this case, many responsible adults need to act on the child's behalf to ensure the child is safe for the foreseeable future, and the crimes are not repeated. Everyone who knew and let Sandusky continue to conduct his sick acts while turning a blind eye and doing their minimum responsibility has the rape and molestation of many more boys on THEIR hands. This includes Joe Paterno. "Beat Nebraska!" Look, I gave an example of a situation in which the solution should be clear but at times other s*** comes into play. All I said was that I can see Joe's dilemma at the time in question. Now until a new law has passed that makes being naive/denial a crime, I will not dismiss Joe as some heartless supporter of child molestation that should be figuratively burned alive.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) This is a pretty bizarre response to a post advocating finding the right people with the right answers when you're not qualified. Anyway, I damn sure do know that child rape is wrong and that it should be reported, and that if the person I report it to doesn't do anything, I should press the issue. I will demonize people who fail to grasp basic societal obligations. No. You're hyper-sensitive and you got apes*** when somebody disagrees with you (check the Beckham thread if you think I'm making s*** up). QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) This. And apparently since I agree with you and have stated the exact same thing a number of times, J4L will just quote this and make fun of me. Yes, because you didn't attack me like five different times before I even responded once to you.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) No, seriously, if you know someone who is threatening suicide, you really, really should bring in professional help--someone who is trained and educated on how to deal with those situations. That doesn't necessarily mean the police. Hey, then you've got all the answers to any given situation. I know I don't. And I won't demonize anybody who doesn't.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) We know that Paterno was specifically told about the 2002 incident. We don't know what he knew about the 1998 investigation that led to Sandusky's retirement. You've got an eye witness whom you've known for years. I might not want to believe it but I really hope I wouldn't be in denial and refuse to believe it. There's that word I've used about 50 times today.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) Swing and a long one to left... In other words, he agrees with me so he's cool.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) In the bolded... you just used that to compare situations. Yes WE NOW know rapes took place. Joe Paterno, and others, KNEW rapes took place 13 years ago. Countless innocent children have been violated since. I don't really understand your point. No, we DON'T know Paterno KNEW what was going on. I've read about ten different articles. Did I miss something? Feel free to post something that will set me straight. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) This is not the same thing J4L. Your friend was hit by her boyfriend. Sandusky abused children. These are known facts that could prevent future crimes. Someone threatening to kill themself is not the same thing. But in 2002 it was an allegation and nothing more. A very serious one. You better be damn sure you've got your facts straight before you go to the police. That type of stuff can ruin someone's life for eternity, innocent or guilty.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) Lets take this one more step if you want to throw analogies. Say your friend turns up dead 3 weeks later after she BEGGED you not to call the police? How do you feel about your inaction then? This is my entire thought process in this. I dont blame JoePa for what Sandusky did, I blame him for ignoring it for 10+ years. I blame him for allowing Sandusky to continue his predation of innocent children in the name of PSU. It is not a jailable offense, it is a heartbreaking moral failing. JoePa is not a villain here, he not totally an accomplice, but he definitely played a part in allowing the crime to continue. Yes, they were close friends and I understand that it was probably something he couldnt fully process or understand, but something more should have been done on many many levels to protect the children that looked up to these men and were abused by Sandusky So if your best friend threatens suicide do you automatically call the cops or try to talk to him/her yourself? It's a fine-line. There's no right or wrong answer. And I actually agree with everything you said. And the bold is why I think he should be fired. And I said that about 40 posts ago. But I can sympathize with Joe and get an idea on what was going through his head at the time.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Now you are just posting weird things. Where did I post that you support it. If you wouldn't go directly to the police, then you have different standards than I do. I, however, said nothing to the tune of "J4L is pro-child rape". That's what you're insinuating. Yes, we NOW know a rape took place. At the time it was an allegation. It's not about having different standards. Yes, if you know for a fact a crime is being committed, report it. I don't pretend to have this god-like, I always know what to do at any given moment attitude that some here appear to have. I had a friend of mine, 22 at the time, that got decked by her BF while arguing with him. She came to me, as a close friend, and confided to me what happened. And you can definitely tell she got socked. Of course, my first reaction was to call the cops. She BEGGED me not to do that. Literally on her knees. She loved the coward and didn't want me to get involved. So I stayed out of it. Am I a monster now? To be clear, I'm not comparing this situation to a child getting raped. But I don't pretend to be the morals messiah and I laugh when others do.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) An 8 year old was raped in the shower. If that's not your first action, it's the action you ensure happens after you report. There's no if's about it. Paterno, and everyone else in that sick college town enabled it. Yes, I'm definitely supporting that. You've got me.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) As in "he both feels one way and another". So one can't think he should be fired/resign and still at the same time realize he's at the very low-end of the total pole as far as blame goes for what went down?
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) So you both claim he did absolutely nothing wrong, at the time, but should be fired. No, that's how you choose to see it. I said I don't blame him for not marching over to the police station the minute he was confronted with these accusations. Strange, Rock and others think that was the no-doubt-about-it first course of action. And since he didn't go that route he should be tarred and feathered. Or even if he simply 'trusted' those above him to handle the situation that he's equally, or almost equally, culpable. I say bull f***ing s***. BUT, at the same time, he's DEFINITELY guilty of being stupid, naive, too trusting and whatever else you want to come up with. How would he have handled the situation had one of his grandchildren been the possible victim? That's fair criticism. But I'm going to wait until ALL the facts come out. This is a huge story and will be for a while. As far as him being fired? Yes, because he, at the moment, is indirectly responsible or plays some role in what happened. And now the university is going to have this hanging over them for all-time. From now on, when you think PSU, you're going to think of children being molested. He has to take some responsibility for that. And a fine or suspension will not cut it.
