This is a little off-topic, but is this upcoming draft the worst of, like, the last 20 years? There's nobody that I can see being a game-changer. A bunch of role players. MAYBE an all-star mixed in there somewhere.

Kenny Williams Jr. is now batting .190, batting leadoff, playing everyday. This has to stop.
KW Jr. or Juan Pierre? Wow. This franchise is home to some of the worst players in baseball, majors and minors.
lol@Jose Bautista's .500 ISO, .572 wOBA and 4.0 WAR. He's been the complete opposite of Juan Pierre, Brent Morel, Adam Dunn, Alex Rios, Mark Teahen, f*** it, any White Sox player not named Paul Konerko.
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 16, 2011 -> 10:16 PM)
Oh cmon.
Rios is not a good baseball hitter. He's proven that already in a Sox uniform.
greg, you're not understanding me. From a pure talent standpoint, Rios is off the charts. The production doesn't come anywhere close to matching the talent. Juan Pierre has none. It's not surprising that he sucks. Get what I'm saying?

He's just now making a believer out of you? That kid is freakin loaded with talent.
When I say that I mean that I think he has a chance to be special. Not just good.
Michael Pineda is making a believer of J4L. See the benefits of identifying and then signing legitimate talent from Latin America? The Mariners might in time have the best 1-2 combo in the majors and didn't need a draft pick.
I'll simplify this: KW was bad at his job from 2001 through 2003. KW was brilliant at his job from 2004-2007. KW has been been at his job from 2008 to the present. So more bad than good. He must go.

Yea. Baseball Prospectus.
That's an awesome site by the way. My friend has a subscription. They kill fangraphs. They're just not free.

It's just crazy how little Rios and Pierre have done to help us win games this season. At least with Morel and Beckham, they played a huge part in a few of our wins.
Rios is perplexing. Juan Pierre is just a bad baseball player *cue Shack getting upset because I called Pierre bad and I'm not in the major leagues*. But Rios is as gifted as just about any player in baseball outside of the Uptons.
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:11 PM)
Man, does it seem like these guys just aren't even trying?
It did not look like Dunn even jogged to first on his DP, Peña didn't even attempt to cover 1B earlier, and Beckham didn't seem to try to get that ball.
Dunn really needs to drop a few pounds. I don't recall him ever being as big as he is now.

They have to win 3 more, and then 4 after that. But if they play like this all series, Miami has no chance.
I get that. But this team has earned my respect. I've got nothing left to say. Taj Gbson is the greatest player to ever play the game.
