Can I start a ban Felix petition? I no longer deem him fit.
-
Bulls are fine. Heat have outplayed them and they're down 4.
-
Felix is now a ghost to me. He made a WNBA thread. He should be banished.
-
WTF? lol. Felix, you've failed at life. I will never communicate with you again.

Who cares about the Danks/Floyd deals.. You don't get a license to suck at your job for 3-4 years straight because you made good moves 5years ago. This franchise is in serious trouble if they don't at least win the division this year.

QUOTE (danman31 @ May 15, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) Mmmk. Good thing you don't have a job in baseball. And when Strasburg, health permitting, is racking up CY after CY you'll change your tune. That dude is special. If he gets hurt, so be it. That's the ONLY thing that can stop him.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 15, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Good thing for Jose that MLB doesnt test for HGH This is getting old. Any non White Sox player that as an epiphany is on HGH.

Chicago White Sox at Oakland A's

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 15, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Seriously, how many times a game does Hawk say "was the best I've ever seen in my life". I swear he attributes someone or something to being the best he has ever seen at least 7-8 times a game. I used to think White Sox baseball would never be the same when Hawks quits/dies. But get this senile fool out of here. He's embarrassing. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 15, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) But part of his talent is an 80 fastball and curveball. I have a hard time believing that curveball will be an 80 after TJS. And who knows what kind of velocity he will have after TJS. Yes, some pitchers do come back and become top-tier MLB pitchers, but some don't (Liriano, Nathan, etc.). I think the skepticism of his stuff coming back completely is valid. Harper though is sick. Great intangibles. Out-of-this-world talent. I can't foresee a way he doesn't become at least a All-Star level player. I would trade the entire White Sox franchise for Strasburg.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ May 15, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) You keep talking about all this damage done with the Swisher trade and it baffles me. How does this team miss Gio when this team is currently using a 6 man rotation? Tell me why you think Ryan Sweeney isn't anything more than a below average outfielder? Tell me when Chris Carter puts up the numbers of Konerko or Dunn. And Swisher didn't leave here and put up MVP numbers in New York. lol. Are you serious? Gio would be the ace of this staff right now. And he's going to be cheap for quite a while.

I'm watching the Jays/Twins game right now. Does Brandon Morrow have the best 'stuff' in the game? Fangraphs was talking about this a few days ago. I'm really starting to wonder. I really truly think he has the best stuff in the game (until Strasburg comes back) right now.
-
QUOTE (danman31 @ May 15, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) Strasburg just had TJS. I wouldn't put him in that category yet. So did Chris Carpenter and Josh Johnson. Strasburg is a once in a generation type talent.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) The only way to reply to that is Jesus. I don't hate JP that much. I don't want to replace bad with badder.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 15, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) Viciedo is getting called up tomorrow. I believe Teahen will be DL'd. It will be interesting to see how and if Ozzie uses him. Really? Where did you hear this?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 15, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) When I criticize KW, it's not because I think I am smarter baseball-wise, because obviously I don't believe that. My criticism manifests itself because he is a lousy general manager relative to others in his business. Some facts since he took over: Record: 866-795 (.521%) Playoff appearances: 2/10 years Salary rankings: 2011: 5/30 (1st in division) 2010: 7/30 (2nd in division, Detroit) 2009: 12/30 (2nd in division, Detroit) 2008: 5/30 (2nd in division, Detroit) 2007: 5/30 (1st in division) 2006: 4/30 (1st in division) 2005: 13/30 (1st in division) 2004: 15/30 (1st in division) 2003: 22/30 (2nd in division, Minnesota) 2002: 18/30 (2nd in division, Cleveland) 2001: 14/30 (2nd in division, Cleveland) So we have won TWO DIVISIONS in 10 years with the highest payroll in the division 50% of the time and the second highest in the division the other 50% of the time. We are not smarter than KW, we just realize that there are plenty of baseball people smarter than KW yet somehow we are stuck with him for eternity it feels. The AL Central for most of the 2000s has been one of the worst divisions in baseball coupling horrid teams (Royals every year, Tigers early 2000s, Indians late 2000s) with incredibly miniscule payrolls (pretty much everyone besides us and the Tigers who only recently boosted up their payroll). Given these immense advantages, we still have been to the playoffs only twice under his reign. Any GM would get flack for his paltry success rate, but add in the lack of strong competition for most his tenure, it makes those two division titles look trivial. And one last point, for any GM you would rather have teams that made the playoffs year in and year out than a flash-in-the-pan World Series title year. Yes, the glory may be awesome that one year, but making the playoffs year in and year out is a sign of a great organization. Other than getting a couple of your years mixed up (2004 and 2008), this thread ends here. And I clearly think I'm a better GM than Kenny Williams. When I criticize him, that obviously means I could do a better job. No doubt.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 14, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) Not that Juan has been good defensively, but I just worry about an OF of Quentin, Viciedo, Rios. I wonder if there is any chance we could deal Quentin for a defensive stud in the OF....maybe the Angels would be willing to trade us Bourjos for Quentin? Bourjos is basically a faster Jacoby Ellsbury with more power potential. And he's going to be dirt cheap for a while. The Angels would laugh at that proposal.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 15, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) As long as Pierre and AJ are any kind of core players on this squad the Sox will be the among the worst defensive teams in MLB. It's unreal just how bad those two are. Keep talking about how important defense is Ozzie. You've certainly done a 180 of late.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 15, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) The Bulls need to come out on fire tonight, if they can stun the Heat with a combination of intensity and the United center, you hope that the expectations and pressure begin to mount on the Heat. Game 1 is huge in my estimation. I think we really need to get this first game. For some reason, I think the Heat could absorb a game 1 defeat better than the Bulls could.
-
We're already rostering some of the worst players in baseball. No need to add another who's like 40.
-
We should just make a Bryce Harper thread. He was 2/4 with a HR yesterday. The Nationals picked the right years to f***ing suck.
-
QUOTE (oldsox @ May 14, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Rockies sent Ian Stewart down yesterday, so you are correct. Except the Rockies don't play him 162 games a year.

Think it's safe to say Josh Beckett is back.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 14, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) J4L, Who do you like better in a one on one matchup between Jordan and LeBron, best of 7 games? Jordan. 7-8 times out of 10.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 14, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Jordan's team has WAY better big men. Olajuwon dealt with better big men than Howard and Amare has no hope of stopping Malone (he might get his skull caved in by a stray elbow in the first five minutes). You're probably right. It's hard for me to gauge playground hoops. Whatever. I'm done with this topic. I'm waiting for Sunday to f***ing get here. Bulls by 7 tomorrow night.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 14, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) I see you are celebrating Miranda Cosgrove's birthday. This is awesome. I'm no longer a pedophile. I know Illinois law is 17. But it's still 18 to me.
