QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) Joe Posnanski with a great analysis of the season and splits of J4L's man-crush. That was a pretty damned good article. But since when is batting average a misleading stat? I understand RBIs is a garbage stat. But batting average?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) For all the triple crown talk with Votto & Pujols, CarGo now has the best chance with his .340 average. Its gonna be tough with 4 guys ahead of him in the HR race, but he does have 15 of the last 25 games at Coors Field. Since you asked for it: If he played 162 games at home, his numbers pace is .395, 65 HR, 172 RBI, 162 R If he played 162 games away from Denver, his pace is .288, 17 HR, 93 R, 93 RBIs (actually decent numbers) He just hit a 3-run bomb a few minutes ago. Shack, Brian and Tony can kiss my buttocks (I mean that in a playful way). Carlos Gonzalez > life.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) Wow.... http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/1388856...rip-apart-cards I'm sure there will be threads here in the off-season asking what St. Louis wants for Rasmus. Never thought he would be available, but apparently hes as good as gone next year... or LaRussa will be done as a manager there. I'd give up anybody in the system not named Sale for Rasmus. Unfortunately, that's like the owner of a brothel offering up Oprah, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'donnell and Sigourney Weaver to paying clients. Now watch scenario come in and tell me our farm is not that bad.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 11:36 PM) Agreed. The Rockies are my second favorite team in the MLB, I like CarGo alot, more than you Tony. But J4L's consistent over-ration of him makes me like him less and less by the day. No offense bro. Whatever. This coming from the world's biggest (and only) Garrett Jones fan.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) I don't buy it. Colorado Home/Road Splits in OPS for the NL 2010 Home-1st(874) Road-14th(651) 2009 Home-1st(850) Road-9th(718) 2008 Home-2nd(804) Away-12th(699) But keep ignoring road numbers. It's only half his AB's. I was half joking when I said I ignore the road numbers. It's obviously something to look at. I'm just a huge fan of the guy and have been for a few years. And I think some of your numbers are off. '08 he wasn't even a Rockie. So I'll ignore that. '09 was a half season sample size. But fair enough. It's something you can't totally ignore. But I've seen the guy play and he has the skill-set. Is he AS good as he is when he's at home? No. But he's not Mark Kotsay on the road either. Even if the numbers suggest that. His skillset is just too good. Now if this continues again next year, his second full season, then I will admit there's an issue. Either way, Beane f***ed up.

Sox @ Red Sox (Game 1 and Game 2)
Does anybody agree with me when I say the Red Sox are probably the best team in baseball with a relatively healthy roster?

Sox @ Red Sox (Game 1 and Game 2)
QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Considering people actually realize that he's a beast with the glove, I can see him getting 4 years at $15-18 million per. That might even be a conservative estimate. Really? That'd be crazy. I wish I could find that post of Kalapse's breakdown of Beltre before the season. It was really good.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) I don't think it's a copout, thanks for using wonderful language to spice up your argument too, it's an easier league, flat-out.. I think it's a copout when people go crazy over prospects, it's easy, they are complete unknowns and then if they miss you can fall back on "it's a crapshoot, even with top prospects, nobody is perfect." I apologize for the language. But how is that not a copout? You guys use the fact that he's in the NL as some kinda permanent security blanket. No matter what he does, he's in the NL and it's a lock he couldn't do well in the AL.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) I've been a Beltre fan for a couple of years now. Seattle absolutely sucked the life out of his bat. Look what happens when you move him to a good park to hit in. He and Ryan Zimmerman have been the two best 3B in baseball this year. I'd kill for this guy. What do you think he's looking at as far as years/money after this year?

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Where is the bullet point about his impressive .295 OBP and .729 OPS on the road? I choose to ignore his road numbers. lol. Honestly, I think it's a fluke more than anything. A guy with Carlos' skillset should hit anywhere. I don't see this being a yearly issue.

Daniel Hudson watch thread
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 09:07 AM) Same can be said for Hudson, and he gets to do it in the NL. Good for him that he's pitching well in the NL on a team that was completely out of the race when they got him. So many things can happen, NEVER would want to see this but Hudson can throw a pitch and get hurt, the league can adjust and he gets batted around or at least even out. I like Hudson as a prospect, don't get me wrong, but that's all he still is at this point, and yes, all E-Jax is an up and down vet who is peaking right now, so we'll definitely see what has to happen. However, E-Jax is 26 and was once a top prospect, Cooper has a good track record with those guys, a perfect 100% track record of fixing them? Of course not, no pitching coach will ever have that. This is such a bulls*** copout. Hudson could win the CY and we'd hear "Well, he did it in the NL." Newsflash: Jackson SUCKED in the NL. Jackson SUCKED for a team that's been out of the race from day 1.

Ozzie Keeping Sox In Race Without a Bullpen
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 02:09 AM) Lousy defense at third base can cost you a lot of games. Yet you had no problem pimping Jermaine Dye's defense in RF.

Ozzie Keeping Sox In Race Without a Bullpen
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) The Colts still get that label. Just read the Indy Star. Despite that, division crowns are meaningless these days if a World Series is not involved with it. Huh? So you throw '05 in my face and choose to ignore the fact the Colts won the SB 4 years ago? They still get that label? Sure.

Ozzie Keeping Sox In Race Without a Bullpen
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) Really? In today's world of modern sports, winning it all goes farther than winning divisions. They have a label for teams that only win divisions. For example:Colts have been labeled the "Atlanta Braves of the NFL". When you only win divisions, you get labeled "the Atlanta Braves". So the Twins are the Atlanta Brave of the AL. If both managers were to switch teams, I doubt you see any noticeable difference. I was speaking of this season. And I don't give a s*** about '05. Give me Gardenhire 10 times outta 10 over Ozzie.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:23 PM) I saw in some comments somewhere today someone talking about the Cy Young and they said they'd stop watching baseball if Hernandez got the Cy Young over Sabathia because Hernandez has only 10 wins. I facepalmed, this is a pet peeve of mine. Sabathia's been great but really now. How many wins would HE have on the Mariners? Pretty big difference between them and the Yankees don'tcha think? That's pretty sad. Had to have been a Yankee fan.

Ozzie Keeping Sox In Race Without a Bullpen
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) What exactly is wrong with Ozzie's lineups? the team has been hitting the s*** out of the ball. It's a miracle this team wasn't buried in May and that's partly because of Ozzie. You guys that hate Ozzie are going to have to put up with him another season. He's not going anywhere. I'm talking all season. And I know Ozzie's not going anywhere. The Twins will get Morneau and Nathan back and they'll anal rape us again next year. It's what they do.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) Twins with ANOTHER come from behind victory in the late innings. That team is a bunch of turds. I have no doubt in my mind they're going to win the Central.

Gardenhire leading the Twins to their 6th division title without an MVP candidate and the second best closer of the last half decade. Just a tad more impressive than Mr. "I makes da f***ing lineup."

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) Alex Cora vs Mark Kotsay would be a good running contest Is there any doubt anymore that the Twins are going to win the Central? They just find ways to win. Where we do the exact opposite (unless we knock the ball outta the park).

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) You have to be kidding me...Jason Repko's defense continues to help the Twins win games. Also, Rangers have got to have someone faster than Cora on their bench. Cora was thrown out with ease.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) Well, ok, if you factor in opponents faced, then sure I guess you could give it to Felix. Bottom line is that Buchholz was not deserving. I totally agree with this. It should've gone Felix with Jackson a CLOSE 2nd. But pitcher of the month doesn't mean much anyway.
